THANK YOU! I wasted hours trying to fix the touchscreen not registering any presses on the lowest line, which made it impossible to press the "OK" button, thus making scanning impossible. Nowhere else did I see any mention of this option to calibrate the touchscreen, even though it's specifically what I tried searching for. I already thought I'd have to get a new printer just because of this stupid issue.

Hi! I understand that you have activated the screen calibration? If it does not work like mine, then you need to update the printer software. I did it! And only then the screen calibration will work.

@@duniasaada just revised my video on this. There is nothing interesting there. If your screen doesn't work. Maybe the situation is the same as mine. The screen calibration does not work, which can be called accidentally, as it was with me. Then download the software, the link in the description of this video, connect the PC and the printer with a usb cable and run the utility. Then you need to activate screen calibration through the printer's web interface. And that's all. If you do not know how to enter the web interface, then watch my videos on this matter, it may be possible to go there through the direct wifi.

On screen, click the gear. Then a NetworkSetup-WirelessMenu-WirelessDirectSetting and Wireless Direct -ON. Then everything is as in the video czcams.com/video/Wuk89e7qqeQ/video.html. Hope this helps

Can I still do this if the firmware is up to date
in the new firmware, the start of the calibration is located in the printer's web interface.
in my case, the calibration started after wiping the dust from the printer screen. In the old firmware, this was done from the printer screen. But the calibration did not take place and the touchscreen did not work.

If visually the display is intact and the printer works, then you can try to reflash it to a new firmware. If you're lucky like me, the display will work. If it does not help, then you need to carry it to the repairmen for an autopsy. Do not forget that there is a HP start utility through which you can fully manage the printer. It's not convenient, but you don't need to carry it anywhere.

For those wanting to go to the web interface get the HP Print & Scan Doctor. Connect your printer through the cable. Click “Start”. It will search for the available products. Look for your printer with an IP address starts something 192……click on it then click “Next”. Then click “Continue”. Click “Printer” tab at the top then click “Open Printer Web Page” that will open the web interface & then follow his instructions
