      Haters dont know that. He was impresive at combine they dont know that either. All this negativism stuff is what has Dallas in dire straights and owners unwillingnes to do something to help this team in Free agency the last 3 years when he had a chance. Sure we drafted duds wow Clairbone, Taco, Mazzi, Schoomaker, injured players in College that we would have never drafted if not for injuries. Let me remind you Jaylon Smith when he came out of College he was the 5th rated overall player in the draft. We got him 2nd round, Sean Lee as well. The draft is not mathematics, is básica ley a hit or miss reality. You hit great you miss you dont know squat. Like last year. Sure thereis knowledge and TAPE and College Performance but no sure thing in drafting players .know why? A computar cannot mensurables what 's inside a man's hear heart and his desire to be great. That is why low draft picks have being Hall of famers and 1st round can't miss takent are mistakes. And haters there is not one among you who thought that Dak at 4th would be a real good QB. Not one of you. Neither was Jerry because Dallas did not want Dak, Jerry wanted A White Kid . But he was drafted before Dallas could take him. So we luck out into Dak. And if Guyton turns out to be good not many of you would be Humble enough to admit you made a mistake. Go Cowboys. Jerry Sell the Team. And retire to enjoy the billions you have made from this team 30 + years 3 SB. A great run but you dont have it any more. Time for a younger Man to own the team. That's life we are not eternal, except in Jesús Christ.

    I've seen this before--first, in '88, at the end of the Landry era. Landry , Gil Brandt, and Tex Shramm didn't suddenly get stupid. The "Golden Age" was over.
    I saw it later in 1997. The reign of "The Triplets" was ending. Dallas went 6-10.

    @davidelswick6846 Před měsícem

    I’m in the boat that I love the pick. Yes it would have been great to have gotten Barton or JPJ or Zach Frazier, but in those scenarios I think you are moving Tyler smith to tackle. As our offensive line sits right now you have a worse left tackle than last year but an amazing left guard. So if you move our incredible left guard out to tackle, you still have a worse left tackle than last year and your left guard spot just went to shit as well. With this pick, this allows us to keep Tyler smith where he belongs, bank on the upside of guyton, which he could be amazing you just never know. And like you said, there are starting centers still out there and the two that we want have medical concerns which might push them down the board to us and then boom, you have completely revamped the entire offensive line without moving Tyler smith at all. It’s still irritating to me that we didn’t take that guard out of Florida last year because he’d be the perfect replacement for Zach Martin next year and we would have a killer o line for 10 years but oh well. Long story short, I love the pick.

    Love the trade for value, but feel weird about trading away from the top corner in the draft at 24. And once they made the trade, while Guyton wasn't BPA at 29, he was maybe BPAPOCN (best player available at a position of clear need) - note the caveat that this is based on JPJ apparently being flagged for multiple issues according to Broaddus and Wolchuk.

    Guyton went that high for someone whose tape is so "...yeesh..."(don't EVEN compare his tape to Tyler Smith's, Smith was still bulldozing over dudes even though he only halfway knew what he was doing) because he is an absolute FREEEAAAK SHOW athlete for an OLmen - when you see him move in space, have to cover ground quickly, he is RIDICULOUS.
    He just don't know how to play football, he's a big giant freaky deaky athlete that just needs to learn [the right way; NO idea what they were teaching in OK] his Tackle techniques. Given what we heard about JPJ's visit, I think we can presume that they're pretty confident in his ability to pickup the technique and learn relatively quickly.
    Tyler Smith definitely gives me faith that they know what they're doing with this pick - but one raw player getting developed isn't a guarantee that another one will. Guess we'll see.
    Ayy, calm down on calling Mazi a miss - we've gotta see if it was DQ that screwed him up or not first😂

    I’d traded back for Frazier and drafted Christian Jones with that extra pick

    Maybe trade down again give up pick 87 then pick up a 4th and an extra 5th, then could pick rb, center, linebacker and either wr or cornerback

    Tyler Smith had one quality that everyone agreed on...he has unusual strength... apparently, Guyton doesn't have that quality...

  • @adilchaudhrey3167
    @adilchaudhrey3167 Před měsícem

    like the trade down but wanted a more day 1 step-in and perform guy rather than someone needing a lot of development which is what Guyton looks like on tape. Think Asim Richards may prove to be better 2024 if given the chance...could be 2026 before we see Guyton as a good NFL starting LT. If Frasier is there at 56 I'll be elated but think Van Pran in the 3rd is more likely for centre.

    They’re all developmental projects. Guys we think will do great don’t and vice versa. We’ll have a good idea this time next year how good of a pick it was. Let’s just enjoy everything else a day at a time.

    There are only two positions the Cowboys don’t need to address this year: CB and S.

    You just cannot take a developmental player in the 1st. Period. I don’t think Tyler Smith is comparable either. He had more experience and better foundation, and moving to guard instantly cured some of the holding problems.

    Hell they coulda traded back again to CAR and picked up another 3rd.
    But, Cowboys have a great track record at drafting O-line. We all hated Smith and Steele (Steele got hurt but was very good prior). How bout we let the $10 Billion dollar franchise do what it’s gonna do lol.

    This is year 1 of the rebuild. It's possible Steele could be a June 1st cut, and Guyton could be thrown out to learn on the job. 2024, 2025, 2026, is going to be tough years

    Long time Jeff. Ya, its gonna be a work in progress, but at least he's available. Sounds bad, but looking fwd to 2025 n our comp picks. Jeff, are we getting 2 more comp picks for losing 2 minority coaches?, sf been getting those picks. No one seems to know the answer to that question. Thank You!

      I agree, I don't like it but that's what a lot of teams do nowadays. To be fair they seem to be keeping Smith at LG which is good.
