Mindo is a town in the Andes mountain range in northern Ecuador. It is known for its many species of birds, butterflies, and orchids that inhabit the surrounding cloud forest, part of the Mindo-Nambillo Reserve. A tarabita (cable car) crosses the Nambillo River to a peak, where there are trails that lead to several waterfalls, including the Nambillo Waterfall. There are zip lines that traverse the forest foliage. The descent of the Mindo River in inflatable cameras is a popular activity.
