    Thanks MM for the video! ❤ Anyone who is interested, let me quickly highlight how this synth is unique or interesting IMO:
    - the LFOs, apart from the usual shapes, come with complex custom shapes (the "+" symbol above the waveform button)
    - in the dual VCOs there is a wavemix feature where you can set the balance of levels between pulse and triangle / saw (/which you can also mix freely!)
    - you can program a lot of generative behavior into the sequencer with gate, velocity and note chance / probability for more unpredictability
    - there's dual timbre addressing in the sequencer so it can play both timbres at once or only chosen notes for timbre A and B (which makes it more fun!)
    - in the mod matrix you can use functions to change the well-known shapes of sine, square LFOs into uniquely new ones, or create custom curves for envelopes / aftertouch response, etc.
    - the mixer allows for a clean mix of all analog sources but you can also use the overload slider to overdrive the signal like the classic Moog CP-3 mixer does
    - the delay works like vintage digital rack units in that it's highly configurable and can provide stereo delays with ping pong behavior, filtered multi-tap tape echo-style delays, or reverb + dreamy chorused-diffusion trails. Generally it's a sonic playground for time-based effects.
    Thank you Moog!!!

      Mate, thanks for stopping by and big respect to you!! And thanks for highlighting this (I am glad to say I actually touch on nearly everything you mentioned in this vid!!) - My favourite other non obvious 'trick' is that you can created a magic 'RND Trig' in the Mod Map and map it to things, so that you can make the sound vary on a per step basis, without using up any LFOs at all. I show this at 25:09 x

    More I watch this, the more bits of Moog One I see in it, the mod matrix with the functions, the destination and more buttons, the VCOs are almost a dead ringer with the SAW/TRI SQ mixer but is some ways its goes beyond the One. I have a Moog One and the biggest issue i find with it is the FM is very weak being linear only and really rather restricted, the Muse seems to do it much better. The filters are similar but in the One filter 1 is a state variable and non resonant but here both are and filter one can be HP so you can get band pass by combining them.
    I must admit that it seem to have more presence in the basic sounds, you have to do a fair bit of fiddling around to get the One to sound more ballsy but it has many more options, VCOs, LFOs, Envelopes, polyphony, tri-timbral. I'm just wondering how long the Trigon 6 module I just bought might stay around before its replaced by a muse to get that ballsy Moog sound with many of the features that the Moog One introduced.

    As a long-time fan of classic synthesizers, I've been keeping up with all the new releases over the past two decades. After spending hours watching demonstrations of the Moog Muse, I have to say they've really hit the mark! It's incredibly versatile, with sounds reminiscent of the 70s, the ability to emulate a CS-80, and metallic tones similar to a DX. The level of control it offers, combined with what I believe is the most amazing arpeggiator/sequencer, makes it incredibly creative and inspiring.

Funny how much of it feels kinda Rolandish but then, thats what we wanted.

    Our wild guess:
    It definitely gives off a lot of Prophet-6 vibes in terms of usability. Like the Prophet-6, which was designed to be a successor to the P5, this instrument seems to aim for the same goal, but perhaps even better or in a unique way. While the Moog One is a sound designer's dream, it can be a bit more complicated and overwhelming and where the Matriarch sounds incredible too, it doesn't save patches. This synth seems to have solved these problems. After working with it for a month, you'll likely feel right at home, like it fits as comfortably as your favorite jacket. We could be utterly wrong ofcourse...

      Big fan of the Summit but this solves a few of the flaws - adjustable envelope curves (the Summit's envelopes are too linear and kind of suck), pitch offset and random generators for "vintage knob" behavior (the slow LFO drift and diverge on the Summit are pretty meh), the way you access modulation and true dual filters instead of splitting and trying to dial in the gap between them.
      I'm still holding out hope that a 3.0 Summit firmware comes along and emulates the vintage knob behavior (since they own Sequential) and adjustable envelope curves, that would put it in GOAT territory.

      @@mvsr990 totally agree, I own the summit and while it's a great tool and my daily driver I would classify it more as a very versatile tool, and the MOOG come across like a well thought out instrument. Not sure if that makes sense, but this new MOOG def has my attention :)

    I’m trying to make my mind up between buying this, the Super 6 or TEO-5.
    Don’t know or if I’ll ever buy a polysynth again, so I need it to be the most versatile. I know they all sound different etc, but which one is the most “workhorse” to you?

      @mylarmelodies  Před měsícem +4

      There's absolutely no accounting for taste is the thing - hence some people react to this video going "sounds great" as well as "not for me". If we're talking about specifically myself, I'm a sucker for Roland filters, so I'd definitely want MY only poly to have that sort of vibe to it. Don't forget about PolyBrute too of course. Depends entirely on:
      1. The tone that speaks to you on a lizard brain level
      2. What interface/design appeals to you
      3. What specific features you might feel you need
      Everyone is different!!

    I waited until the demos of the muse came out today to help me make a purchase decision and the thing that never got addressed is wether or not the muse can globally if needed sync both modulation and sequencing to external devices ( drum machines ,computer, etc ) extremely accurately and in that mode offer intervals and other time based functionality ? Because no one seems to know I bought a new Waldorf quantum which does do that . These demos should always have a section for exploration of a devices SYNC to clock super powers . Many synths in this category fall short of the frame accurate benchmark that both film music and modern pop music demands . So is this one of those ? 🤔👽✌️

    • @mylarmelodies
      @mylarmelodies  Před měsícem +2

      Hey Christo!! Yes it can. You can sync Arp, Seq and LFOs to external clocks. You can also choose interesting time bases for each (straight/dotted/trip etc) so the time divisions in the dial are constrained to the flavour of timing you want. If you buy one please feel free to use my affiliate links in the description!! ✌️👽
