Former ONE Championship bantamweight kickboxing champion Hiroki Akimoto believes the judges got it wrong in his unanimous decision loss to Wei Rui in Bangkok.
First off, the Thai guy he lost the title to tested hot on a banned substance and got stripped of the title later on, and I think Haggerty has since captured that title and defended it since(?) Meanwhile, Akimoto has been kept in limbo for over a year which is a real shame because he's an exceptional Kickboxer with his Kyokushin background. I'd like to see a rematch as the fight was close, but I feel Akimoto edged the win.
He got sidelined for 2 years after losing to juiced up 💉 steroid junkie in petchfurgas, then and lose by robbery, GTFO Wei, deserves no title shot, for running away the whole fight! Wtf
Hi Akimoto, you clealy lost the fight 3:0 to Wei Rui. Do you know the problem of your flighting style? It looks like you are very aggressive all the time. But every strike or kick you did was countered by Wei Rui much harder. How many times when you tried to kick Wei Rui and he moved closer and puched you in the face? Since he moved closer, the power of your kick became much less effective. But the punches on your face must hurt a lot, am I right? I'd say 80% of your kicks and punches were useless in this fight. So, Don't complain about you lost the fight because you did lose. Wei Rui is obviously at a higher level than you for fighting strategies. You should use your brain more, instead of just showing aggressively. By the way, you should have lost to Qiu Jianliang too. But Qiu got robbed by the judges. Same theory applies to that fight. You fell to the ground may be 20 times by Qiu's kick, but you still won. What a joke😊
Thanks interviewing for him! Always good to hear from both sides following a controversial decision loss like this. I feel bad for fighters who are on the wrong end of a close loss and kind of go ignored by media 🥲
When last did Akimoto fight? I feel for the man. The wait, the training, the diet, weight loss etc only to get robbed wow…He’s very polite and humble.
This man was robbed! Plain and simple.
Ofcourse he would be upset since he was beating him in the 2-3 and still got a loss

It's clear that akimoto won that fight. 2 to 1, and that's being generous.

Yes, China is better than Japan
This man can't stand losing to China lol. I thought he won thought but it was super close. The last 2 rounds could have gone to China.
not even close. japan won last 2 rounds easily, maybe even first
@saileshnaidu8102 facts, what's that guy on about? Akimoto won comfortably.
@@kesenaememere8520 I thought he won too. but you could argue the last two rounds were competitive.

Come on akimoto you loses for sure and all 3 judges give you loss
