And if the mega fight money doesn't materialize, it's only because of Benavidez refusing to put in work on his end to build himself up despite there being a large Mexican American audience for him to try to tap into, but he'd rather take random pointless fights like Gvozdyk that nobody is going to pay for.

That’s the oldest trick in the book to avoid a fight you really don’t want. Either lowball your opponent so they will decline so you can say you made an offer but they refused or price yourself out.
