I love how that Jonathan Toews goal is always shown as the away broadcast because the avs announcers are just that good.

I will never understand why people blast music over these videos. The whole thing that makes the highlight fun is the commentator losing his mind and the crowd going nuts.
I think I finally figured out why that Makar goal is so filthy. I saw it when it happened and have seen it many times since then. The hands on that goal are definitely world class but not something that stands out in a highlights video with Datsyuk, McDavid, Toews, Crosby. Watching most of these, I am admiring the hands of these guys. Cale's skating is insane though. Not that the other guys don't have insane footwork, but Cale has something extra. It is just one move but guys should not be able to change directions that fast and explode towards the net like that. Even Dach and Flower thought so, otherwise they would not have been caught so flat footed. That was a great top shelf backhand shot, but I think Flower would probably stop that 9 times out of 10 had he been ready for that move. I just don't think Fleury expected it and was probably still processing when the shot was made. Cale broke his OODA loop.
McDavid is certainly at least on that level of skating, so is MacKinnon. What is truly insane about that play by Makar is the fact he's a defenseman and pulled off a goal possible only for the very top forwards. Like if you didn't know much about hockey and saw this you'd think this guy must be one of the best forwards in the game

i havent had the chance to catch mcdavid live yet, but so far, mackinnon is absolutely the best skater i've ever watched. i could watch that dude skate all day!

I mean disgusting. Dude takes it almost corner to corner behind his own goal, takes it back to the other side through center ice, and somehow ends up alone in front of the other net. How is that not cheating?

Makar was the most insane imho. That was absolute elite level forward play from a defenseman. He just decided to turn into McDavid for a moment.
The NHL has some of the most incredible players in modern times.

I like the replays. There's a lot of videos when they don't do replays that I stop it and watch some of the goals/moves again.
