As a clarinet player in high school, I wish I could play as good as that soloist, he was amazing!
yeah, but he also has a special type of clarinet (jazz clarinet very rare) which makes it easier to play notes fast, at the cost of more limited range (its just sax fingerings)

Fun fact there is a VERY rare saxophone system clarinet that overblows an octave called an octavin but it's pretty much exclusively a museum piece
as a clarinetist and a trombonist, i hope that someday i'll be able to play as beautifully as these two soloists can. i recently got a wrist injury from clarinet and i have been feeling like i'll never be good again, but listening to you play reminded me of how much i love music and how i want to do my absolute best. i love your tone quality so, so much and i hope i can become like you some day!

So I played the cello 6th-10th grade. I played this song in probably my last concert if I remember right. I would listen to the song all the time and loved it. Eventually stopped listening by the summer and dropped the class for sculpture. (Better option overall) today I heard the song again and i could feel so many brain cells exploding and my heart hurt hearing it again. My friend said the name of the song and my entire time in orchestra came flooding back to me.

Justin Hurwitz grew up in a suburb just north of Milwaukee in the U.S. (where I'm from), and I had a chance to see the Milwaukee Symphony perform this film live in concert with the same pianist who performed on the soundtrack, but I hadn't seen the movie yet so I passed. I still haven't but I think that would've been a great first time.

A few too many trills in the clarinet solo for me, but the bend technique and general style was very nice. The trombonist captured just as much vocal flavor in his more faithful interpretation of the male's solo without all those extra herbs thrown on. Overall, this was a really nice rendition with some world class players and conducting!
