When Trump said "Good people on both sides", he was referring to good people who wanted the historical statues to stay. He went on to specifically say he was *not* referring to the nazis, but the media never lets an inconveniet fact like that get in the way of their narrative.

If I had friends like these growing up, maybe my life would've been different, staying away from gangs and drugs. I see them and see what could've been me, but instead I chose to be a low life. I’m a black conservative and the hate I receive from the left is overwhelming at times. I’m a born and raised Mississippian. I grew up in poverty and I still don’t see myself as a victim. I have crawled, walked and climbed my way out of poverty. I don’t disagree that life isn’t fair but I don’t see myself as a victim. I push forward no matter what.

I always wondering why everything has to be a black thing against a white thing. Im Mexican and my family has been here for over a hundred years. I still have family in Mexico and I agree that they need to come over legally. It affects my taxes, our work ethic, and my status as an American citizen. Real Mexicans will agree.

@Ben T. he gave an academic definition of racism. Racism has to do with the power to affect someone's life based on race. This definition is used for most high level texts on the topic. Racial prejudice is any preformed racial bias often influenced by stereotypes, which is what I'm assuming you are referring to. That definition of racism is used more commonly by the average person, that is not the full definition though.

People are shocked there are black conservatives? My experience is that there are a lot more black conservatives than people realize.
anger & rage Maybe it’s a regional thing because I grew up around a lot of blacks here in Louisiana, and most are conservative or moderates. In the middle school I went to, whites were a minority. Junior High and High School was about 50/50. I stay on touch with many of those friends, and they have remained conservative or moderate based on their social media posts. I have two friends who have gone far left, but that’s it. I’m talking about a sample size of about 500 people.

I would like to add one point here. If I am correct, there is a media presence that supports conservative voices of all races, ethnicities and religions. That service is FOX. Why are all of you here yelling about liberal media "cutting off voices" when you should be asking why the media that should be giving them exposure isn't doing enough? I occasionally look at FOX and although I do see POC, I don't really see too many features on their points of view, way of life, etc. Conservatives have their own media and should be turning to it to provide greater conservative community solidarity.

I'm bi-racial and I can honestly say I've never felt misunderstood or discriminated against. I guess that's because I'm not a victim. My parents raised me to understand I was privileged to be born American. Being an American is a privilege people take for granted every day. It's so sad to see people who are so free INSIST they are so oppressed.

But if you want to continue to see yourself as another race/species (actually the origin of the institution of raciatlization), you're discrediting the individuals of recenter African origin who were living in Africa and England as businessmen, traders, landowners, independents, even during the Elizabethan years. Even those brought to England via the system of tribal conquer, weren't allowed to be treated as slaves nor were even allowed to be called slaves. They were paid servants and most of the jobs, according to manuscripts and census reports had typical jobs like nannying, housekeeping, or just general workers. I reiterate. They were not even allowed by law to be called slaves. The idea at the time was that England was too pure for slaves to breathe. But you know. Continue in your misguided view of oppression.
@anger & rage Even after the Civil War, the South was heavily opposed to segregation bc it went against the southern morals of unity and community. Integration was a threat to a group of businessmen in the Carolinas who had their hands in the railroad industry and so they used their money to put out anti-integration propaganda that painted African-Americans in a bad light. Even back then, directly after the Civil War, during the Reconstruction Years, neighborhoods were much more mixed than they are today. Even in 1871, only a few years after the KKK was started by a group of Confederate veterans in Tennessee, the US. Government instated the Third Force Act aka the KKK Act which enabled the President to shut down active violence and threats through military force all terrorist organizations. The Republicans were the first to vote in African Americans to Congress (who they themselves were Republican) while the Democrats heavily opposed it. Even Lyndon B Johnson, the man who deflected the Civil Rights Act was a prejudiced democrat against African Americans. They just didn't mention his party affiliation.
Most African Americans are conservatives…calling someone a conservative doesn’t mean they are Republican or Trump supporters.

My daughter was told in college if she have a child she could receive help with books. Today she is a RN still taken classes to further her education. Oh yeah black no kids 24years . Me and my siblings grew up on welfare until this day those demons hunt us. If it’s my sisters children who couldn’t take their father name to the dumbing us down not been able to hold our head high cause of shame. Welfare was a double edge sword for my black family.

I agree has crippled parts of the black community. But a lot blacks aren’t even on welfare. I for one am a black woman and the many blacks that I know are doing well . They are either middle class or up we middle class. It really depends on your culture with in the black community. Urban blacks are different from suburban blacks and not all urban blacks are poor either . We all are different .

I'm a brown man with origins in India and a trump supporter. I got attacked and trolled by people because I wore a MAGA hat and went to a local bar. People openly yelled at me, said nasty racist things to me and insulted me. Some random white dude reminded me that I was brown and went on to say I should vote for Biden. If people can only come to terms with the fact that not everybody agrees with their political opinion.

When Trump said good people on both sides, I've heard he was referring to the people that were there advocating the taking down of historical statues and people protesting the removal of said statues. When he said bad people on both sides he was obviously referring to Antifa and the Skinheads (the violent groups). He was right on both accounts so this does not demonstrate racism.

Condalisa Rice (who's black in case you don't know who she is) believes in keeping the statues up for that very reason. Stop labeling people bad for having a different opinion than you.
