A lot of people don't realize the album made the Billboard top 60, it was a moderate success but nothing trailblazing. Hanson had said a new album would soon be in the works back in 2014 but nothing ever materialized. Schelsinger died from covid in 2019, which ended the potential of there ever being a second album with the original lineup. This is power pop at its finest. They only toured with the album release for about 4 months. I think the reason this was not an even bigger success was because of mistakes with marketing. It's a shame that there aren't more people who will enjoy this fantastic and underrated album.
When I read it was the drummer from Cheap Trick I knew I had to hear the band. I’m a long time Iha fan, but the old dude on drums made it weird enough that I HAD to hear it. Lol
Personally, I hear an influence from ALL four members in this song, with James Iha providing that SHARP distortion that's famous in the Smashing Pumpkins, and the other three with their power pop roots. I thought the same thing about Adam.. hahahhah
ditto. Funny how they put out an article about a " super group" and the tragedy of them not being able to play together again and people have never heard of them or their song.
I love this band... I got a new copy of a spin magazine which No Doubt was on the cover and Gwen Stefais head was covering the D Wind but I still knew and I screamed 'TINTED WINDOWS' and read the interview.
I just read about all these side projects that blew up from Smashing Pumpkins… Like I had heard of A Perfect Circle, but not Tinted Windows… And I had no idea the guitarist from Smashing Pumpkins was a part of either. Like wtf man? I didn’t think I was that fucked up the last 10-15 years…
Excellent 70's sounding "power pop." Nicely done and this album is a hidden gem. A shame what radio has done (or is actually no longer doing) to let stuff like this slip through the cracks while shoving all that other lame crap down the public's throats with so-called ARTISTS who can't even play a note of a single instrument. These guys should have done another!
i think the reason they cant make it is cause they are all from other bands tht made it with other bands and its hard to do that again. but i never thought in a million years id see Taylor Hanson in a band with someone from Cheap Trick
I like 'em. =) As James said, "It's not supposed to be deep". It's supposed to be fun, and it is. You have to respect muscians who can still enjoy absurdity, instead of being all holier-than-thou-I'm-a-real-'artist'-bc-I-play-my-guitar-and-brood-like-this (yes, Billy, I am looking at you!). I like Billy and his new-found-love for kittens and James and his new-found-love for power pop. Everyone has to grow out of their teenage emo stage at some point. *Shrug*
lol, this band existed? Hanson, Fountains of Wayne, and The Smashing Pumpkins have each been my favorite band at some point in my life. (Hanson when I was like 8.)
Interestingly enough, Adam Schlesinger (on bass) wrote music for the Jonas Brothers. As well as most of the music for the movie That Thing You Do! (which has a really great soundtrack).
I really like this song. I have to say that they are a better band than I thought they'd be. When I first heard about this I thought it'd be a disaster! But they're not bad. :)
very interesting sound, i mean how do u get one of the most hardcore rockers in james iha to be in a band with a hansen lol. rly good, thought it would suck tbh
april 29th? i thought it was april 21st? yay hanson album in the summer! hope it comes out the day before my birthday. (my birthday is on a wednesday and i know cds come out on tuesdays.)
I love this tune; Bun E. Carlos definitely influenced the sound of this. Anyone else think Adam Schlesinger looks like Jim Parsons (Dr. Sheldon Cooper) in this clip?
I love smashing pumpkins, those people who hate them, so what, its not your thing, big deal and get over it, I also love fountains of Wayne. and seriously hanson was hilarious. I think it is awesome that they have made a band together, dam well love it
i dont know this song has a "penny and me" feel but I honestly like it better besides they are like a super group I mean you have Hason, Cheap Trick, and Smashing Pumpkins members bringing their own style and flavor to the same group. I think its kinda cool but hey what do I know ;)
if i lived for a thousand years and in that time i had ten thousand dreams..never..in my wildest nightmares, would i ever have conceived of this musical concoction. but...me likes. umm..i think?
I love this song. BUT the band as a whole, is strange to look at. So yea, so long as you're not looking at them, its awesome! Well maybe you could just look at Tay..LoL. Can't wait for the album.
When considering the lengthy and distinguished careers of each member of this group; I believe its more accurate to say the Jonas brothers sound is modeled after them. Plus, while the Jonas boys are fine musicians they can't sing worth a shit. The Hanson brother owns them in that department, and it isn't close.
I thought it was the 21st? On their myspace and official website it said that TW would release the album on the 21st. I hope it's not the 29th cause I'd really like to get it for my birthday on the 22nd.
Bun E. Carlos...a legend!
Good grief what was I doing in 2009 not to know about this collaboration?
Same. I feel dumb.
I assume you've already heard of this tiny band from "Piscataway, New Jersey" beyond their radio single

This is the kind of a song I can't get enough of. The very definition of Power Pop! 👍😎
A lot of people don't realize the album made the Billboard top 60, it was a moderate success but nothing trailblazing. That is damn good for indie rock in 2009. Very impressive.
What a very unique cast of band members.
Like I would’ve clawed my way back stage. Legit. Haha
When I read it was the drummer from Cheap Trick I knew I had to hear the band. I’m a long time Iha fan, but the old dude on drums made it weird enough that I HAD to hear it. Lol
I agree, the album is fantastic. Still cant work out to this day why it got largely ignored
Bun E. Carlos drumming left handed! Way to go old man!
This group is fire. Its amazing that this song didn't make the radio.
RIP ADAM SCHLESINGER
Bun E.Carlos on the drums-so damn good
yeah... this song has a Cheap Trick touch...
this is a potential hit... with that glamy pop rock touch... excellent...the voice is so perfectly right
Personally, I hear an influence from ALL four members in this song, with James Iha providing that SHARP distortion that's famous in the Smashing Pumpkins, and the other three with their power pop roots.
I thought the same thing about Adam.. hahahhah
The cheap trick drummer crushing it!
A cool, uptempo song with guitar in it. Hanson is a piano-driven ballad band. Bring on another Tinted Windows CD.
Great poprock song!🫡
How the fuck did I never know there was a collab with James Iha and Taylor Hanson
This is a great rocking number and you can't go wrong with Mr.Bun E.Carlos on drums.
Robert Nix
This is a great song.
Nice to see James back in action, can't wait for his 2nd solo album he's working on
My dream will become true! After 14 years I'm going to see Taylor and Hanson in London!I'm so excited and now I'm 26!!!!!!!!!!
I never heard of them until today.
same
ditto. Funny how they put out an article about a " super group" and the tragedy of them not being able to play together again and people have never heard of them or their song.
This a cool song. The clip doesn't do it justice.
Cheap Trick meets Hanson?! Phil Seymour is smiling somewhere with this one!
I love this band... I got a new copy of a spin magazine which No Doubt was on the cover and Gwen Stefais head was covering the D Wind but I still knew and I screamed 'TINTED WINDOWS' and read the interview.

james' 5 second solo is the only thing i like about this song.
Now THAT's Power Pop!!!!
R.I. P. Adam
This is such good power pop! Have commented before but this is just so good haha!
Iha is cool!
wow! taylor´s face has changed a bit! it´s weird to see him without his keyboard
Totally agree, you 2 said it better than i could
this is the Hanson kid who sang mmmbop?
yes
I think this is the single greatest thing I have ever seen or heard. Absurdly good.
I hope this song has shown Hanson haters around the world that they're not just squeaky, they have real musical talent :)
I would like to see these guys get back together and do a Tour.
The bass player died of covid. RiP
I'm here to listen to Bun E kill those drums.
Excellent song!!

I love Taylor so much
James gives this group some credibility.
i think i might really love this song.
Taylor!!!!
i think the reason they cant make it is cause they are all from other bands tht made it with other bands and its hard to do that again. but i never thought in a million years id see Taylor Hanson in a band with someone from Cheap Trick
Fire 🔥
This is awesome,. how hav eI not known this happend?
Time for another album! This beats any Green Day album!
Sounds very good
lol, this band existed? Hanson, Fountains of Wayne, and The Smashing Pumpkins have each been my favorite band at some point in my life. (Hanson when I was like 8.)
This is the most random collaboration ever. It's not my style, but objectively it's good.
For all the haters.....4 mismatched guys.....Ummmm, you just figured out Cheap Trick.....
Sounds like Cheap Trick too.
Wow this is so campy, I love it.
gotta love Bun E
Bun is playing his left-handed kit!
miss you Adam
Interestingly enough, Adam Schlesinger (on bass) wrote music for the Jonas Brothers. As well as most of the music for the movie That Thing You Do! (which has a really great soundtrack).
I really like this song. I have to say that they are a better band than I thought they'd be. When I first heard about this I thought it'd be a disaster! But they're not bad. :)
James is like take that Zwan
Wow!!!
very interesting sound, i mean how do u get one of the most hardcore rockers in james iha to be in a band with a hansen lol. rly good, thought it would suck tbh
YEAH!
The track smokes I agree and furthermore you can't go wrong with Bun E.Carlos on drums.
R.Nix
The chord progression in this song reminds me of The Boy, an Iha-penned Pumpkins song.
Remembering Adam
You can hear the Siamese Dream tones
is that Al Eacret behind the kit? kidding, Bun E. is a God
...I agree.
taylor hanson is a pop genius.
@GuitarchickChelsie09
yeah the guitarist, james iha from perfect circle & smashing pumpkins formed them :]
Go Bun E. Go!!!
This is some pure pop rock. Just not hooky enough and a little too retro? Would have been a hit if it came out in 1982.
its pop music everybody loves it
april 29th? i thought it was april 21st?
yay hanson album in the summer! hope it comes out the day before my birthday. (my birthday is on a wednesday and i know cds come out on tuesdays.)
A couple of power pop musicians (and one guy influenced by power pop) making a power pop record is sell out...how?
I love this tune; Bun E. Carlos definitely influenced the sound of this. Anyone else think Adam Schlesinger looks like Jim Parsons (Dr. Sheldon Cooper) in this clip?
mmmm bop
I love smashing pumpkins, those people who hate them, so what, its not your thing, big deal and get over it, I also love fountains of Wayne. and seriously hanson was hilarious.
I think it is awesome that they have made a band together, dam well love it
@CyrakuZ yep!
i dont know this song has a "penny and me" feel but I honestly like it better
besides they are like a super group I mean you have Hason, Cheap Trick, and Smashing Pumpkins members bringing their own style and flavor to the same group. I think its kinda cool but hey what do I know ;)

Taylor hanson is the best
brotherjesus says, the kind you never wanna let go!
Taylor's freedom only costs a buck-oh-five.
james iha and adam schlesinger were teens when taylor hanson was born. no way are they old enough to be his dad.
Brought here by masked singer video. Didn't know Taylor Hanson joined this band.
funny to see hanson is still around
When considering the lengthy and distinguished careers of each member of this group; I believe its more accurate to say the Jonas brothers sound is modeled after them. Plus, while the Jonas boys are fine musicians they can't sing worth a shit. The Hanson brother owns them in that department, and it isn't close.
jme demande pourquoi ca a passer a radar , je trouve ca super bon =)
I thought it was the 21st? On their myspace and official website it said that TW would release the album on the 21st. I hope it's not the 29th cause I'd really like to get it for my birthday on the 22nd.
I would die for Taylor's freedom.
Taylor Hanson is the bomb :)
when does this song come out on itunes??????
Hanson meets Cheap Trick. LOL
sounds like Cheap Trick.
Jesus this sounds exactly like The Wannadies. That's a good thing.
This is WAY better than Hanson! Not so much as Smashing Pumpkins, though.
ummm....are they actually new? they sound OLD...but that doesnt mean theyre bad...*dances*
^^
Is this album all they did?
