- Ed Hardy, no matter if you're a child of my generation or a zoomer, we all know the patented signature logo. Thanks to a recent resurgence, Ed Hardy has ingratiated itself with the newer generation, all be it on a smaller, more retro level.
Despite including this in the rise and fall of a streetwear brand series, I gotta ad the disclaimer that Ed Hardy is not stretwear, it never has been streetwear and never even tried to be. But they did occupy an interesting spot in couture, at a moment when genre lines were meshing and something new was in the process of being born.
But what roll exactly did Ed Hardy play in the streetwear movement and what was the reason for their fall off? Well, lets find out. I'm Nate the Great from Takeflight214.com and this is the rise and fall and sorta rise again of Ed Hardy.

13:04 i loved ed hardy art ❤
2000s & early 2010s around my area (NY/NJ Metropolitan), Ed Hardy along with other brands like Affliction, Famous, Tap Out, & to lesser extents Ecko, Abercrombie & Fitch/Hollister (& even lesser extent American Eagle, & Aeropostale) were all the epitome of suburban "douche bag," loud, obnoxious, club/bar hopper, MMA wannabe/enthusiast, Jersey Shore types.....crazy times & era, but they were fun tbh & did have a role to play in many ways of culture!! Salute on the awesome work & content!! 👍
I agree, as degenerate as they were, they were fun. 😂
This was an informative video! Thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it!

You have a lot of potential, take your 7 seconds intro out, change up your editing style, and you'll see the growth you've been grinding for!
Always looking to improve, what edit changes would you suggest?
@@takeflight2142 pacing could be better, I have some videos I can send you to help on that. What’s your discord?
I don’t have a discord, should probably set one up 😂 you can email them to flight214dallas@gmail.com
That trend hit hard especially during that rockstar era
Yeah it was so trendy that it hit hard when it was introduced but fell off like a rock when the trend got old 😂
@@takeflight2142😂😂😂
Damn, that Avocado joke got me👏🏻

You need to do Mecca, Pure Playaz, Lugz, Mountain Gear (Boots), Bear USA (bubble coats from the 90s), Dada 😊
I got a ton of old school brands in the works
@@takeflight2142 awesomeness
That tattooing scene you showing was not from japan but from the Philippines in the province of cordillera which is ancient kalinga tattoo.
I still love sailor jerry and ed hardy for their iconic tattoo art. I have a few ed hardy clothing pieces but its more love of an artist than following a fashion trend.
So sad i always loved #edhardy stuff
What Happened to Von Dutch? Please Update!
I was wondering if I should consider they had a long ass series already, but I think I might do it anyway
