    At 7:39 he says capacitor will discharge during the half cycle. To be precise capacitor tries to feed the load as soon as its peak voltage is greater than the supply voltage. Which is around 90 to 180 degree of the sine wave.

    Hi thank you very much indeed for the extremely useful video. I have a question. Which is the better approach to filter out ripple on a DC line ... L-C filtering or R-C filtering ? i am asking because it is easier to use a resistor after all. My need is to place some kind of filtering after a first bank of power supply caps and at the input of the caps feeding the Voltage regulators in an audio stereo preamp. Now there are only the caps before the regulators and there is some noise at the preamp outs. In an audio preamp of course the lower the noise the better Thanks a lot again. Kind regards, gino

      I will start studying the theory in order to calculate the values needed ... just one should be enough because there will be another regulation stage after it anyway The less the ripple reaching the regulators the better i presume Kind regards, gino

      if a square wave output is being produced by inverter, it can be slightly modified by adding a line filter in output, but in ac it becomes a series load as well.

    A microcontroller is given 5V/3A DC Supply through External High Quality SMPS.
    Between Microcontroller and SMPS , I saw a filter circuit.
    SS54 diode in parallel to M7 Diode. Then 1000Uf Capacitor + inductor + 1000uf Capacitor + 100nf Capacitor ?
    Please explain.

    assalamualaikum. I want to ask sir I want to attach an LC filter to an 18 watt LED bulb The goal is to reduce harmonics. The results of the lamp test show the value of V=225.78 voltAC, I=0.171, and THDi=1667.6% And the power factor 0.95 . With a value of LC passive filter is L=5.4H and a value of C=0.9uF. but it turns out The lamp and capacitor are damaged. How to solve this problem sir?
