I had a dream where he gets so angry about resetting that he actually fried my GameCu🅱️e.
I really like Resetti tbh! He's a great character that's funny and just wants to teach you the importance of saving your progress cuz he cares. And he can be super adorable when you interact with him outside of the "reset rants". I wish he wouldn't get so much hate. I honestly think some good characters get over looked based on first appearance.
Who knew that that little pickaxe could demolish a wall as big as the fourth one so easily.

When I play the game wild workd and resetted (I was only 8) I got so scared of that guy that I had nightmares. One day when the battery died, I was so scared of opening the game that it took a few months to finally have the courage to open it. I admit that I acted stupid, considering it was a video game, and that was my second reset. Now I laugh about it!!
I got nightmares about him when I had reset my game. Then, I will do it again the next day and he "killed" my game. It doesn't work!

I hated that damn mole. Luckily I have a reason for it, unlike most people. My little sister played the same profile, who, when I played animal crossing, had no idea how to save. I tried to teach her, but it never worked. She only just learned how to save a profile on a game. I came in handy when she released my level 68 Emboar on Pokemon. She didn't save the profile so all I had to do was turn it off. Thank Starclan that Pokemon doesn't have some sort of annoying, ranting Diglett to tell you off.

The only question is: How does he know you reset the game if you didn't save it? Does he have his own programming part that detects unsaved game sessions?
iliSilent If I would take a guess, I bet there is some Boolean that turns false (or the inverse result...) while you play the game (that part gets saved as soon as you start the game), and then turns true when you are done playing the game (and gets saved at the end of your gaming session). When a reset happens, the variable that was left false will determine if Resetti will appear or not (because it was last saved as that result, it will fix itself when the player is done playing the game and end the game properly). Sorry for the late reply.
the game would have an autosave feature that just sets you back when you dont save

iliSilent They might be wrong, since the Gamecube calculates playtime, and it knows the last time you played without you saving the game data.
iliSilent after the save id complete as Amaster said a Boolean flag is triggered if you finish save successfully this flag might say isClosed or isFileClosed the second makes more seance and there is some sort of numeric array for behaviors starts at index zero where every time isFileClosed is FALSE the counter(index) increases
I'm thankful that in New leaf they give you multiple options. Say "I don't remember" and he apologizes for the trobule and leaves.

The way it works is that when you load your game, it sets a flag in your save data that it was loaded. Saving unsets that flag. If you load the game and the flag is set, Resetti appears. So it doesn't happen when you press reset...
