Basically yes, it's what they call kids Pankration. It's a kid friendly version of MMA. No head strikes, and a few of the more dangerous submission holds aren't allowed. And the ones that are allowed are really watched over by the refs, so even if a kid is too tough to tap out during a hold, if the position is secure and the ref deems it unsafe to continue, he will call the fight. Gamma is the organization that hosts these events and they are doing great things for young kids across the world that have talent and are looking to hone their skills before adulthood. Most other sports you can join a team at a young age and become a very polished participant by the time you become an adult, youth MMA has just recently been afforded the same opportunity.
