soundsfromthestreet I agree but some fans really believe Kobe going on 35 in his 17th would beat a super team with every advantage in Miami. Sorry that’s not happening at best they’ll get 2 maybe three games if they find a way to keep it tight and allow Kobe to pull some heroics. But that’s seemed like a stretch to me then and does now.
I always go back and watch Kobe highlights. He was playing at an MVP level before he tore his Achilles. I wish it never happened. I miss him out there on the court and in life. I wish he was still here man. Long live the Black Mamba.
2006,2007,2008,2009 mvp award was deserved by Kobe..Yet, he only got it in 2008..I know it matters if a team makes the playoffs and what seed but common..Did you see the stuff he made those years ? God damn..
I agree that he took the lakers to the playoffs that year and saved them from failing, but they barely made it and there were statistically better players with a higher seed, so..But he definetly should've had at least 3 season mvps right now..Ohh well, it is what it is.
Methodical T Lol he also deserved it in his 30ppg 7 rebounds 6 assists 2.2 steal 1 block per game season but they gave it to timmy. That arguably Kobes best season and he was still like 24-25 years old.
3:13 is where Kobe shows what UNSTOPPABLE means. The defender predicts Kobe to pull-up for 2 from the elbow. Instead, Kobe counters that with a planned roll move. "To be unstoppable you must first be predictable...Now a team makes you do something else, and you have a counter to that predictable move, and when they cut off that counter, you have a counter to that counter." -The Black Mamba
Kobe deserved MVP in 2003 (when he averaged 30p, 7r, 6a, 2s), 2006 (35p, 5.3r, 4.5a), 2008 (he got that), and maybe in 2007 (31p, 5.7r, 5.4a) and 2009 (27p, 5r, 5a). He got only 1... That's unfair! Those Nash's MVP seasons was bullshit. No hate for Nash, he was amasing player, but he couldn't defend on MVP-player level. Not to mention that his team never went to the finals even once.. But we all know that 2005 real MVP was Shaq and 2006 real MVP was Kobe.
LoneWolfMishania Why is everyone saying Shaq should've won in 2005?? He averaged 22.5 ppg, not the 28 and 15 that he claims he did. Nash definitely deserved it in 2005. He took a Suns team out of the cellar and immediately into Playoff contention, leading the NBA in assists. His story is just like Jason Kidd, who should've won it in 02.
The problem was the MVP award are giving to player's on great teams. In 2003, the Lakers only won 50 games, mostly because Shaq was healing during the season. In 2006 and 2007, Kobe had bad teams. I think if Kobe had the stability that the Spurs did, he'd have MVP awards in 2003, 2006, 2007, and 2008. LeBron deserved his in 09 & 10, but by that point Kobe wasn't about putting on statistical spectacles, but rather winning championships.
Sergio Garcia I disagree .. kobe deserved atleast 1 of nashs mvps cause kobe had a shit team and still had them in the playoffs in the toughest conference in basketball.... and kobe deserved the 09 mvp cause kobe played in the superior conference and ofcourse took the lakers to another finals where they won this one ... I love LeBrons all around game but what kills me is how no-one brings up LeBron playing in the weakest conference ever and I've watched NBA since early 90s... LeBron hasn't truly had any true competition in the east since the 08-09-10 celtics..... LeBron always had to play a inferior wizard team or bulls or bobcats or hawks or raptors or pacers .... while kobe always had to play duncans spurs or jazz or melo and Iverson and it Smith nuggets or rockets...... that's why kobe has eliminated more 50 win teams in playoff history than any other player at 23 .... LeBron is dead last on the list at 9 ....
It's all Jim Buss's fault. If you remember, Phil was down to come back. He would've set Dwight straight and with the way Kobe was playing you never know. But instead the chose D'antoni and the rest is history.
Yup I thought it was unwise when he rushed back to play, whole season could have been much better, Kobe and Pau could have held down the fort and who knows if everyone else gets injured like they did. Dwight played great D in the 2nd half I give him credit for that. Punked out in the playoffs.
kobe was 34 at the time, 17. season in his legs, and still dominate the league. No one has ever got better 17. season than kobe. He was extreme, an all time role model, in terms of insane hard work. dwight, nash, and dantoni ruined his career, because of them, kobe had to play back to back to back 48 minutes... he would still put up 25 point with 45% fg
@@willcasey8662 kobe was still playing both sides of the ball too. Lebron has great numbers but is not a factor on defense. Most times a liability. But that's not fair to Lebron he was never the defender that kobe was anyway. I believe kobe is 12 time defensive first team.

wtf...? no, Kobe didnt win many because the lakers werent the top team when he had his best years, (2006, 2007, 2009-2010) it's not just the player that counts, it's also the team's record which kind of sucks but that's the reason why LBJ has 4 MVP's right now...If team records didn't matter, Dwyane Wade would have won it in 2009, Kobe in 2006 & 2007...anyways, the trial has nothing to do with it
iHoop12 And that's also why Curry will win it this year when Harden and LeBron are almost as deserving. It's just the way it is. If records didn't matter, Anthony Davis would probably be winning it this year.
I was in Spanish class in 2013 when I was talking with my boy how Kobe was literally single handedly carrying this lakers team the day after this game. Kobe has a ton of moments but this one game is by far my favorite even though it was just a regular season game and fighting for a low playoff seed. That dunk he made with that look he gave the crowd was something I just don’t see anymore. Rest In Peace my childhood hero. Guide him where he has to be lord and give the strength to Vanessa and her daughters to get through these tough times
Notice how Kobe never once barrels into the defender on a drive to create contact and just flails his arms up to get a foul call. He skillfully navigates the defense to get the shots he wants without even thinking of trying to get a bail out. This is the sort of pure basketball that we may never see again.
Haters say Kobe doesn't pass but hes averaging 5 assist in his career n one of few players to score 3500 points n get 1000 assist in his playoff career smh
AND he's the only guy with 30,000+ career points and 6000+ career assists so far. Lebron will join him soon but I mean people just liked to hate on Kobe because he was the best and won a lot of titles. I'll admit, I hate curry and his bitch ass face cuz I'm tired of seeing him all over tv but hey it's because he's the best and he's winning. I finally understand why so many sports fans are so bitter about things. It's just cuz they never had Kobe, fuck the Warriors and the Giants. Gay area got nothing on LA nigga
Depends at what age. I take Kobe at age 25-29 and Lebron at age 30+. Young Lebron was dominant, but not in the playoffs. Young Kobe was dominant period. But his injuries started taking a toll.
Lots of Kobe haters bcuz he immediately followed MJ and MJ fans and the media could not accept the fact that Kobe is right there ready to grab and sit on the throne.
Kobe is a legend because you always have hope in the last 3 minutes with the black mamba. He was a fun player to watch on the 4th quarter. MR. CLUTCH!! its nice lebron passes the ball to a team but KOBE had the balls to make the shot with 2 or 3 guys on his face.
Them Kobe kicks were hard I remember them. The colourway he dropped around what westernised people celebrate as christmas were banging too, but that one he was wearing this game were my favs.
This is the season he willed the lakers to a playoff spot, game after game he's bringing is something for the ages, this game, the game with Atl then with raptors and lastly with gsw where he shoot the ft after he teared his achilles. His best season for me.
funkymonk804 kobe not pass the ball and win more that lebron he is the best of the best the greatness, stop to sell me lebron kobe win more not passing the ball lebron play to numbers and not get COJONES like kobe and jordan man he travels any time phill jackson said it. One of the many reasons we loved Kobe....HE NEVER GAVE UP!!!!Lakers were down 30 and 20 MANY TIMES and Kobe would will them back to win the game!!This man was so clutch and amazing to watch RIP
OSMADO thats the problem jodie meeks value has gown big time and he showed that he is not just a three point shooter he can cut and make the mid range or even attack so many team will be throwing big bucks at him especially teams that are in title contention, the lakers are in rebuilding mode so they are not going to match any big offer to keep him its the same situation with nick young, same thing happened with trevor ariza shannon brown and earl clark their value went up and they left for better contract and i fear that history will repeat itself
bulaba slimo Remember when Jodie Meeks was being compared to players like Luke Walton? And when Nick Young was being compared to Vujavic? I still can't believe Nick Young and Jodie Meeks became skilled.

He skillfully navigates the defense to get the shots he wants without even thinking of trying to get a bail out. This is the sort of pure basketball that we may never see again.
Can't wait to be to the point where I can watch Kob play again without being sad that he's gone
lebron can't do shit like this
WRONG LeBron has done shit like this plenty of times.
??? lol i'm sure he done it a few time but kobe still holds the most clutch shots in NBA so u can't compare
***** Most of Kobe's game winners were in the regular season though
Onlyrealmusic4life and?
***** That doesn't seem like a noteworthy fact to you? lol
Gay area got nothing on LA nigga
so who do you pick now, Kobe or Lebron
Depends at what age. I take Kobe at age 25-29 and Lebron at age 30+. Young Lebron was dominant, but not in the playoffs. Young Kobe was dominant period. But his injuries started taking a toll.
Lots of Kobe haters bcuz he immediately followed MJ and MJ fans and the media could not accept the fact that Kobe is right there ready to grab and sit on the throne.
I can't watch this without shedding tears now..
R.I.P Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gigi
Underrated season from Kobe I know it was considered a Failure for the lakers but Kobe’s last good season literally gave everything that year
If LJ could do this, he could Miami Heat in game 6 2014. He was owned in G3, and G4 by KL. I've never seen LJ done this
yea if he was able to come bacc and score 42 he would have right? lol lebron aint on kobe level
Yes sir I agree with you
Lebron scored 61 with a mask on the following season. Lebron also has multiple 40+ games in the playoffs.
sonofaballer96 Kobe scored 62 points in 3 quarters and Carmelo scored 62 points so do the math
Yvalder Gertin did you even see lebron in the 2009 playoffs? He was absolutely amazing.
2:35 Royal airness...that shot was too smooth 🏀🐍💜
Best comeback in history
Kobe is a legend because you always have hope in the last 3 minutes with the black mamba. He was a fun player to watch on the 4th quarter. MR. CLUTCH!! its nice lebron passes the ball to a team but KOBE had the balls to make the shot with 2 or 3 guys on his face.
This is a Very Underrated Single Performance of all time
It's absolutely NUTS. Jezus christ. RIP
I was at this game and this was the last time I saw Kobe live, what a night
kobe deserve more mvp because he is the goat and he points avg higher .
Man can't believe he's really gone.. #MambaForever
THE MAN 💜💛🕊
Kobe had really no one around him that year. That win was all kobe. Rip.
The 28-12 run on this season was really heart pumping. Here's a guy who's almost 35, and he's still in his prime.
Some nba2K stuff. RIP GOAT 💯
Who's watching this this 2017? With a bittersweet smile in our hearts, dammit I miss the Kobester. Such effing fun.
5-7 Kobe in the NBA Finals. LeBron 2-6 in the NBA Finals.
funkymonk804 kobe not pass the ball and win more that lebron he is the best of the best the greatness, stop to sell me lebron kobe win more not passing the ball lebron play to numbers and not get COJONES like kobe and jordan man he travels any time phill jackson said it. Now you're going to say that phil is a hater???
funkymonk804 hmmm i swear i thought basketball was a team sport.
+random0activity he had the Miami Heat with d wade and bosh then had another big three with Kyrie and love he had the best teams in the league
Except in the finals he had Kyrie nor love dumbass. Plus dwade is gettin kinda old, so he wasn't even that good with Lebron. And bosh was suddenly overrated like shit once he went to the heat, people acted like he was like a future hall of famer to make The heat look more stacked
+funkymonk804 More like 5/7 and 2/6 you made it look like Kobe lost 7 Finals trip.
Kobe d goat👍👍
I miss you sir...!
Man i miss kobe
This laker roster was trash and he still carried them to the playoffs 💪🏽🐐
RIP...Legend
lmao i swear there's more lakers fan in that building than new orleans fans
ISazn12 Well, Louisiana's acronym is LA...
ISazn12 i was at this game, definitely
Looking like an upgraded version of mj here with the variety of buckets
Still can't believe they gave those MVP's to Steve Nash instead of Kobe. Kobe played both ends of the court. Something Nash never did.
One of the many reasons we loved Kobe....HE NEVER GAVE UP!!!!Lakers were down 30 and 20 MANY TIMES and Kobe would will them back to win the game!!This man was so clutch and amazing to watch RIP
After years still can't figure out why the Hornets defended at their own side.
Seriously. Their whole team dropped the ball on that one.
Smile was smiling missing Kobe nba then tears started flow😢ing
RIP KOBE BRYANT
Kobe mi jugador favorito 😭😭😭😭💔💔💔💔😞😞😞😭😭😭💔💔💔💔
greatness RIP
Cant believe he's gone
The best NBA eras Kobe Bryant
Kobe was worth every penny of his contract.
@1:58 Kobe channeled his inner Usain Bolt
Jodie Meeks is a keeper. If they can, I think they should resign him.
he is amazing... they should resign him 100 percent!!
I still can't believe Nick Young and Jodie Meeks became skilled.
nick was always skilled
sseasons He's not worth fucking $19 million for three years. He's worth like 10-12 million dollars for 3 years.
Kobe did everything a goat would do 81 points the best game ever played by a SG or at any position n we didn't even see wilts hundred that wat makes Kobe extra special him n wilt went to the same high school n Kobe always was on wilts scoring level
Wilt went to overbrook high school bro
the rules were different back then no way wilt would of been able to get 100 in today's nba . not discrediting what he did at all tho
It was an honor watching the Mamba every night! The closest player to MJ
AD BROUGHT ME BACK HERE
the real goat! most skilled player ever!
this showed the heart of the Lakers the whole team was goin off not just Kobe
I loved this game. RIP Kobe
RIP 🐐 one of the best games I’ve watched
He killed it that hold year
G.o.a.t I miss you so much Mamba and Mambacita
