I hope you're doing well. You are about 12 years younger than my mother would have been if she were still alive. She used to love this band, and this song in particular. I have foggy memories of me as a child, listening to this music along with her. She had a really hard life and it is with time that I've come to understand. I too have tears in my eyes as I listen. In times like these, I hope and pray heaven or some version of it is real, so that may be I can see her again.

Hello 😢 I love bread music it reminds me of my brother Steve so I subscribed to you because he no longer has his mental capacity anymore and in a fire in his apartment the fireman tossed them over the third floor and I went through the burned items and collected his vinyl record collection and saved them. These songs remind me of him and in my uncontrollable crying listen to every single song. Love you Steve hope to see you soon. 😢

My Dad passed a few years ago now. I miss him a lot. Music helps so much. I t does get easier. Hint: don't try to swallow the lump in your throat...voice it in song..and tears.
My sister passed away on May 31, 2023 after fighting cancer since 2020. When I was growing up, we did so many things together and those are memories I will always cherish. I love and miss her so much.

I was born in '72, but I remember riding in the car with my mom and her singing along to Bread. One of the first groups I love to this day... The songs remind me of being a kid in the 70s and they remind me of sunset hazes and summer nights, and the windows open with the warm breeze blowing in from Lake Michigan...a simpler time.

David Gates was happily married with children when he wrote most to all of his beautiful love songs (currently married over 60 years). It's one thing to understand love but another on how to write a love song -David not only wrote beautiful music (mostly just with his voice and guitar) but his lyrics contain words of someone who understands love from it's most powerful place of being unconditional to the deep heartbreak of 'wanting' of taking someone for granted. His music truly is healing and heart breaking - there is a reality to it a purity and innocence not found in todays music. I was born in 63 so I grew up hearing Bread on the radio all the time. The world was such a better place back then and the music from then reflected that. Bread is a prime example of just how much better song writing was back then.

OMG, I was so young just yesterday.
I don't see that young man in the mirror anymore but he is always there.. I should let him come out more often. Both parents are gone. Kids grown, grandkids growing, the circle of life progressing. I wish I didn't know now what I didn't know then. How fast it goes.. I look back and I used to think someone who was 25 was ancient. Now almost 60, the words ring in my head, "youth is wasted on the young". The music can instantly bring back that young man. I will never stop seeking the roses along the way. But knowing that, I am aware of the thorns. The more I think I know, the less I actually do. Go figure, divorced twice , sober 31 years, and loving every minute like it was my last.

Bread my favorite band. I was in high school when I started listening to their beautiful music. The lyrics are about the true and deep meaning how to love and feel the real thing. David Gates gave life to this band, his music is a cure for brokenhearted people. My favorite is LOST WITHOUT YOUR LOVE. My boyfriend and now my husband chose this song to be our song. I am indeed will be lost without his love.
So sweet to relax, tilt my head back, close my eyes, and let my mind drift back to the time when these tunes played often on the airwaves. On a hot summer night, everyone's window open without fear, everyone playing their radios, nobody was mad, didn't worry about drive-by's. You just relaxed and enjoyed the music playing. This is the music that soothes the savage beast. Today's kids could use a heavy dosage of this medicine.

I’m 21 and I love bread so much it brought me so much peace when I was little when my dad would blast oldies on road trips I still listen to these songs in the car alone I do like music today but I can never listen to it by myself it’s just not enjoyable no meaning

No one who didn’t grow up in the 70’s will never experience the kind of love we possess. Because of the music, the 70’s were special thanks to bands like Bread. When you are happy, the music touches the soul, but when you are sad the words are understood a lot better. Thank you God, for putting me on this Earth when you did. I am a 63 year old Grandmother and still listen to the music of the 70’s. My children and grandchildren love it too and that makes my heart happy. I remember saving up to buy my first album when I was just in my early teenage years, that album was BREAD , and listening to this music , takes me back to those early 70's , good memories , love to be able to go back to those times, just soft sounding music!!! Easy on the soul!!!
