Just like the original ultra Magnus toy. Which was the exact same Optimus prime toy in white that the trailer make an armor suit. But this version is much better.

All of the robot modes look very good, I just wish they would spend more time on making the wheels and tires look better than cheep plastic discs. Let’s see some mags with rubber like the G1 versions.

I had the Rodimus toy and a family member had Magnus.... Good to see someone show how much of a PAIN it was to transform some of these - my favourite of the Transformers toys will always be Slugslinger (Targetmasters), it was also the last one I ever parted with. I always remember it was pretty much impossible to get the hands out without resorting to using your TEETH!

How come Ultra Magnus is always armored up in the cartoon but the toys depict him as a white Optimus Prime?

Original toy it was just easier to make him that way. I hate it myself tho. I like the Combiner Wars version where the truck is just part of the transformation.

The original Diaclone toy was called “Powered Convoy” which was a redeco of “Battle Convoy”. Diaclone predates the Transformers cartoon.
