Tony Slattery was my favourite on this show. It’s such a shame to hear about his mental health struggles. I really hope he can come through and beat his demons.
Paul Merton and Tony Slattery were two of the funniest people ever on Whose Line, in my opinion, and this is one of my favorite clips. Thanks for posting.
Paul Merton and Tony Slattery had great chemistry. Paul could crack Tony up like no other. Paul is a genius. A very funny man but I am not totally sure he was best suited for Whose Line.
Funny they had 'Doctor Who' as one of the styles considering Slattery nearly played the Eighth Doctor (before Paul McGann was cast) having done an audition for the TV movie in 1994.
I think more credit goes to Slattery here. Merton was failing and couldn’t keep in character at all. He tried to cover his inability by mocking Tony but Tony kept with it.
The only competition was to be funny, and both were funny. Paul's attitude towards the show was to take the p*ss out of everything, and we loved him for that.
Paul Merton was one of those members who obviously had off days; he didn't do much and was generally not that funny. But when we caught him on a good day, that man was ON FIRE! I realize his anarchy style probably doesn't fit the show too well, but he (and Tony) created beautiful mayhem sometimes. This is one of those times.
Not really. I don't know many of the Uk version ones as I mostly see the US version (they play it more regularly). Any really like this that are really funny
Although funny (mostly due to Tony trying to hold in his laughter) I'm not particularly a fan of performers breaking out of character because they can't keep up with the improv.
tony's laugh is so cute! paul totally breaks him down lol

Tony Slattery would have made a great Doctor Who.
My fave part of this video.
Clive: This is just lapsing into personal abuse.
Paul: You shut your face!
Hard to believe this was 30 years ago

I love it when the show just falls apart.
Tony Slattery - pure comic genius - Paul Merton must know something about certain senior TV executives.
Tony Slattery DOES look like the Doctor!
Yep, he looks like the Hartnell version.
Tony Slattery always made me laugh the most. I was mostly inebriated when I watched, however.
David Sumtinelse Don't worry, so was Tony.

They should have been put together more on the show
