  • MCB overload test
    • MCB is a protection device to protect wiring
    installation against:
    1. Overload current
    2. Short Circuit current
In order to achieve perfect overload protection the
normal current of the MCB (Im) should not be less
than the design current of the circuit (Ic) and that
(Im) should not exceed the current-carrying
capacity of the conductors (Iw), and that the
current causing effective operation of the
protective device Itm does not exceed 1.45 times
the current-carrying capacity of the conductor Ic.

16 ampere DP MCB because if AC compressor ON it will take full ampere current ampere in starting.
But if starting current of compressor is high above 16 ampere DP so big size DP mcb should use

That case mcb trip in magnetic protection (short circuit) it trip intstant according to characteristic curve
But if your current level not too much less than Or equal 1.45 time it trip in thermal protection ( overload)

    भाई साहब, घरेलू यूज में मीटर के तुरंत बाद जो ड्यूल पोल एमसीबी लगाएं वो B40 लगाएं या C40 ???

B 40 - sensitive loads very long circuit runs
      Examples :Incandescent lights, Heater, Geyser
      C 40 - General, light and power
Example : Fluorescent lights, small motors , Fans,
      Refrigerators , window/split ACs
