- We tried brushing hair with an ionic hairbrush that claims to tame frizz and flyaways, resulting in smooth hair. The Portable Electric Ionic Hairbrush from Cool Trending Club is an ionic hairbrush that uses negative ions to smooth hair and add shine. We tested the ionic hairbrush on straight hair, thick hair, and curly hair to see if it helps tame static hair and frizzy hair.

We Tried An Ionic Hairbrush To Tame Frizz And Flyaways - Jak na to + styl
Static and frizz are not the same thing...
Exactly.
Static causes frizz though. If you live in NYC like me, you’ll almost always have frizzy hair because of the amount of electricity in the air. It’s like that in most cities. People only think humidity causes frizz but it’s also static.
You’re absolutely right. They’re not the same thing. And as mentioned above, one leads to the other.
When I was in HS we did an experiment with electricity. You had to stand on a rug and there was a machine called a Van de Graaff Electrostatic Generator.
Touch the metal ball and your hair would stand on end. I thought I had frizzy hair that day prior to the experiment, but that machine proved otherwise.
Ions will tame staticized hair more easily than frizzy hair caused by other conditions. My frizz is caused by static mostly. The other part of the cause is the fact that I have too many split ends and need to go to the salon (which I’m pretty sure uses ionic hairdryers in the first place) since I can’t cut my own hair.
The first girl's hair aren't frizzy at all.. it's silky smooth
But it has flyways like mine
Frizz wasn’t her problem and she never said it was. She had a lot of static.
刘凯琳 She barely has any she just has to brush it with her fingers and it’s fine it’s already fine with all the so called “static”
Mixlee Static is annoying. Especially on straight hair. When brushing, it just flys and ascends to the moon.
@@rachaelalyatim9440 static makes your hair stick to your face and stick out it is a issue
Dry brushing is NOT for curly/wavy hair whether it is ion brush or a 1 dollar brush. It was not surprising to see that happen to her hair. She lost her curl pattern.
sh3ikh4 then how do we keep our hair non frizzy:(
SlippyStingray serums and oils
@@bigchungus1078 Lots of curly girl channels on youtube to help you out. :)
@@Formerlywendytestaburger1621 depending on your curl pattern.
@@bigchungus1078 I have wavey curly hair...wet brushing on alternate days, curling cream and finger twisting helps keep mine in shape on daily basis ✌️
the woman with the red hair isn’t brushing her hair right she’s basically ripping her hair you’re suppose to start from the bottom and go up if that makes sense
and yes i have curly hair so i can kinda relate although my hair is way more curly than hers i still can
Yes and she's supposed to pause when there's a tangle and help it a little with her fingers the continue brushing
Natalie DeLeon okay yeah but its not the right way sis
yea it hurts me to see her brush her hair like that
Girlll try having curly hair, it’s a pain
She should try using a detangler conditioner too, like Unite brand, I think it'll improve the frizz and the crazy amounts of tangles in her long hair. It has potential to be very beautiful.
The video starts at 5:00
You can thank me now
Thank yiu
Thank you
I can tell the girl with the red hair never brushes it, because holy shit, she doesn't know how! You can't brush your hair like that girl! You gotta start from the bottom up, small sections at a time and then move to the next section when that one is knot-free. You are just wrecking your hair like that!! Ughhhhh it was painful to watch. And you didn't give us any kind of review of the brush. It's not made to go through knots. It's made to reduce static and make your hair smooth.
I have curly hair and brush or that will be a mess XD the think is that I do when I use mascara in the shower.
I get so fed up with my curly hair that I straight up rip it sometimes.
Kitty Justiniano she doesn’t brush it because you can’t brush curly hair. It really hurts when you do!! The only time you can brush it is when it’s wet
That’s not gonna work. No matter what way she brushes her hair it’s still gonna be frizzy. I have curly hair just like her. I don’t brush my hair like she does but it still turns out frizzy. No matter what conditioner or whatever product you uses it doesn’t help get rid of the frizz. I have tried everything growing up because I hated having frizzy hair and just realized it’s better if you just brush in the shower when it’s wet after you washed it and then never brush it when it’s dry. (I’m sure someone else with curly hair can relate to this comment)
Priya patel yes! You understand. I only brush it when it’s wet and brush through coconut oil to control the frizz just a bit. If you brush it while it’s dry...then you have to wash it to make it better.
Watching the girl with red hair made my scalp hurt omg. Thats not how you brush long hair! The tearing 😭
Way too much talking. I really just wanted to see them before, while brushing their hair, and after.
I can actually freakin’ see that the ionic brush does not have a handle. I don’t need someone else to tell me that. WTF.
Thank you. It's so annoying how they add filler clips just to get more viewtime
The girl with the red hair was so negative towards trying it and didn't really with the booklet.
Yeah I get hella negative after brushing my hair and seeing it all just frizz up. Really ruins my day
peachy kleen our names are only different by one letter. neat
As instruções não vem em português e ele não faz nada
Everyone with curly hair knows,DONT BRUSH
She was probably pissed she was asked to do this at all. Hairbrush is a curly girl's death.
The girl with curly hair should have actually followed what the booklet said, thats why it didn’t do anything since the girl with straight hair that used it actually worked (I forgot their names...)
The girl with straight hair didn’t have frizzy hair. Frizzy hair and static hair is not the same thing. No matter what the curly hair girl would have tried doing wouldn’t have worked because that brush will make her lose her curly pattern no matter if she does it slow or fast. It isn’t about static when it comes to her hair. I have had curly hair my entire life ik how she feels because no matter what you try it never works.
@@priyapatel4228 I have curly hair too, but the girl with the red hair was not brushing her hair correctly. You start from the bottom and go up. And if there are kinks or knots, go through and de-tangle with your fingers first, then use the brush. And her hair should not have been dry. She should have wet her hair for that. It would have been easier. True, it might not work even if she did it like that, but you never know.
@@kikiseals2413 the frizz only comes when your hair is dry not wet, so if she wet her hair while using it the frizz would still show up when it dried. Also maybe your hair is not that curly? because my hair always has frizz no matter how I brush it 😂
@@jhonhoppins522 No no. Mine does that too. I just tame it with oil and gel.
LunarGalaxy No you’re completely wrong
I was just waiting for her to comb those bangs
This is for the girl with maroon-red hair:
1. Don't wash your hair everyday. Shampoo twice in a week, your hair will get used to it and won't feel that greasy when this routine sets in. It will feel odd at first but just trust me, it will change your texture for good.
2. Oil your hair with castor oil. I know it's thick AF, almost like honey but it's worth it. It helped with mine for my dry hair soaked up the oil in like 10 mins. Keep your head soaked in castor oil (especially the roots, if not the scalp) and wash it off in the morning. Follow this routine twice a week, before shampooing.
3. Shampoo the scalp only. I know I said to dunk your hair ends in oil, but trust me, the shampoo lather will help in washing off whatever oil your hair hasn't soaked up.
4. Use hair serum/leave in conditioner on days when u don't use shampoo and don't wet your hair.
5. Sometimes the right haircuts help. I know I had a 'proper' haircut and that tamed my frizz a lot. I told my hairdresser to give me a haircut which will suit my face shape. He was incredible and the feather cut that he did on my head truly changed my hair for good. But before all that, try this hair oil routine. Only you can take your locks, cuts won't help your frizz if you don't help from within.
I'm saying all this because I had EXACT hair as yours. Rough, frizzy, curly in the ends+relatively straight at the top.
Today it's 70% straight, 30% wavy and the good wavy. I can brush my hair but it doesn't get *that* poofed up anymore. :)
That's alot of effort, I just brush mine wet with frizz control conditioner and wash it every once and awhile 😂
My hair gets greasy no matter what. I wash it every other day. Also I can't afford all those fancy oils.
@@Fleur2005 my hair smells really bad tho even when I wash it. Is there something I could use to make it smell better when I don't take a shower?
@@Fleur2005 mk thank you!
You got a big kind heart to msg like this. I Don't know how much time it took for u, but u r great
Omg that asian girl is soooo pretty!!!!!!
Yes! All i could think is how much she looks like Lisa Bonet. Buy that hair style is so unflattering!
she reminds me of Alex from Totally Spies :D
She actually looks like Kurebayashii
Tiffany Zarate her short hair is so cute on her, what do you mean?
I don't see any asian girl in this video
This editing aint it
Hahahha
gee cee 😂😂😂😂💀💀
Ikr it was so cringe
the girl with the red hair should have done what the brush said to do.. try brushing slowly.. i think it would have helped but she didn't wanna try anything on her hair... too bad..
Sally No
So basically it only kind of works on very fine straight hair lol
The curly hair girl didn't know how to brush her hair to begin with. She was very negative and didn't follow the book. Not to mention, You're supposed to start from the bottom and work up to the top, especially if your hair is curly!
Just don’t brush your hair dry if it’s curly, it never works
I love how you used different hair types because I have wavy hair and most of the time it’s either thin, straight hair or thick,Natural hair.
You can use tumble dryer sheets wipe on hair gets rid of frizz and flyaway hair and makes your hair small nice.
The brush wouldn’t do a good job on the girl with red hair ‘cause she has curly/wavy hair and to brush it it has to be wet. So brushing it dry would of course make it more frizzy.
Someone needs to teach the maroon haired woman how to brush hair in the first place. Honey, start from the bottom and take the tangles out first. Jesus
I've been brushing my hair like she does for a while and I never knew that I was doing it wrong until I asked my sister. She said that I was practically breaking and damaging my hair.
B Zsa hello stops hating
That first girl is so gorgeous 😍 And she has PERFECT hair
As a curly haired girl, you can brush your hair just do it while your hair is wet and has product. I brush my hair with a flexy brush and there is no pain at all.
you actually should brush curly hair (coming from someone with curly hair) as brushing your hair helps to stimulate your scalp and helps with hair growth. If your hair gets super frizzy when you brush it, i recommend brushing it when it's wet.
the girl with curly hair brush too quickly
the woman with curly hair is DESTROYING her curl pattern and snapping apart cuticle!!! omfg....I have curly hair and watching that....hurt. NEVER dry brush dry curly hair!
I was dying... the sound of all that breakage :(
What you do then
I have a frizzy hair, so I bought this and damn was it amazing. It revealed the products I was using for my hair
My gosh that short haired girl is GORGEOUS 😍. Looooove her haircut .
What helps is after washing your hair and letting it dry (not completely) just till it’s damp but not wet. Then brush your hair then spray keratin.
Omg I'm dying a little inside watching the curls get brushed
I thought the tile said “Iconic” instead of ionic
None of them brushed their hair correctly in the first place. The ones girls red hair is so beautiful and shes just ripping it out starting at the top and pulling it to the bottom.
"thinks brushing will actually cause frizz" y'all worded it like it isn't true and that she's delusional
ikr.. jesus christ whoever edited this video has no idea what they're doing
If she learned how to brush her hair correctly, she could have had better hair. You NEVER start from the top. You're supposed to start from the bottom and work your way up to the top. After that, she can feel free to add something to smooth it down and straighten it afterwards. Not brushing curly hair isn't gonna do it any good, it's eventually gonna get bad tangles and gunk in it. Either take care of your hair or shave it off. Live with two women with curly hair, one has real curls but she straightens it and takes care of her hair, the other super wild frizzy curly hair. No excuses. Just learn, work for it and take care of yourself.
I have the straight fly away hair like the first girl and would like to try this to see if it would help with the static electricity without having to use a dryer sheet
Very helpful! Thanks!
I think I'll definitely buy this as I have exactly the same hair as the girl with straight and fine hair
I broke my handle of my hair brush and currently using it like that.
So relate to frizz, especially in humidity lol
Do you have coupon for hair brush like get for my birthday in june thanks Michelle and website did you order your brush
My hair is just like Kyle's, but its medium blonde. Her heair is flattened on her head and you can't really see it, but when my hair does this it looks so oliy even if it's not.. Any tips?
This ion thing sounds fake...not a beauty student here, but rather one that has taken a few chemistry classes. Hydrogen bonds are those that allow us to temporarily change our hair texture. Hydrogen bonds can be changed by straightening, curling, etc. and they are “reset” when the hair is moistened with water because water is primarily hydrogen. Ionic bonds can only ever be changed with perms, keratin treatments, and more invasive solutions that work by permanently changing the ionic bonds in the hair. Certainly not something a brush can do.
I was a skeptic too, so I bought one to see for myself. I have very kinky hair and it dies work for me. I figured it would only last a few minutes or an hour or two, but my hair stayed smooth for most of the day.
I don't think they are trying to alter ionic bonds. Have you not seen ionic dryers etc? .They are doing the opposite of rubbing a balloon on your head. Of course you could just run a coat hanger over your head and it woud do the same thing as thus brush.
Ive tried it before and it works a little~ bit. But a waste of money for someone who needs to tame their hair badly.
Do ionic blow dryer really work to then?
@@nathanv7399
Yes, a good Ionic hairdryer works great for frizz and static.
I have the first Conair ionic dryer and it's still my favorite.
The girl with the red hair is so negative and doesnt know how to brush her hair she made me cringe so bad
i love koizumi reset brush i think you should do a review on it 😊
That brush will get swallowed into the abyss known as my a-frizz (afro +frizz) and will never see the light of day again. In related news, hair oil and a decent brush will also work. Nice looking product though
Does it come with batteries inside it already?? I did not receive a Manuel
Will it keep down my hair antenna?
I have very curly hair and I only brush my hair when it’s wet I use lots of conditioner
ABBY I FEEL YOU!!! my hair is so damn thick and curly, whenever i go to get my hair cut they are like" dont come here anymore, it's too frizzy and thick." and im like WELL THEN FIX IT. I dont brush my hair and get reprimanded by EVERYONE
The way she was brushing it from top to bottom is damaging you can hear how bad it is, also she dry brushed it
They say on that Instagram it also works for afro hair, yet I've still not seen anyone showing those images, videos. This was cute but missing thicker, denser, curlier, kinkier hair types.
I can't remove the back of the brush to put the batteries in. What do I do?
I also tried that experiment but doesn't work. It has little result for my hair.
If you have thick curly hair, brush it right after washing it. Brush down, then brush both sides and back of the head towards the top of the head and then brush down again. This removes all fallen dead hair and hairs that are about to fall out. After that, leave your hair to dry naturally. I have thick wavy hair that is also frizzy and have fought bad hair since I was 11. I later in life found out that most frizz is actually curls and waves bouncing off each other after they've been brushed when dry. Brushing wet hair helps prevent frizz as the hair is straight while it is wet.
Everyones saying that theyre brushing their hair wrong but in the beginning they said that the brush had to be used from the top to bottom
Comprei um e não consigo abrir para colocar a pilha. Brasil/ Brazil. Help me
I have actual curly frizz like the redhead. The other two had messy hair not frizz.
Chelsea, I can relate to ya...
Any time I sweat FRIZZ and it doesn't help that I sweat like a pig
Dryer sheets make your hair more frizzy and they make it feel greasy like you haven't washed it
Lol love the 80s music in the background
I bought it just now I'm a guy with curly frizzy hair that gets frizzy over any little heat, I'll see if this actually works when my package arrives. Anyone else try it out ?
I feel like they should of grabbed a small amount of hair and brushed, I actually want to try this brush for myself. My hair is like the second girls hair, thick and wavy.
I really enjoyed this video because of the sound effects and because my hair is always super frizzy and cause I’m 12
The first girl had great hair in my opinion. Especially compared to mine.
The brush sorta seems like a straitnger?
Leave in conditioner is good for static hair
Omg I just learned about ions in school!!!!!!
I need this !
y'know what, imma give a like just for the nintendo music 😂
What they don't tell you in the ad is that is synthetic hair, which is waaaaaay more staticy than real hair so the reaction is more dramatic than it would be with real hair.
I think they all need some flaxseed gel to manage the frizz.
i feel bad that a grown ass woman doesn’t know how to brush her hair 😔
It doesnt heat up right?
Will the brush heats our hair?
Chelsea is actually stunning I'm so jealous
How do you brush hair
love the sound effects, someone is definitely a Nintendo fan!
So is static charge created by ions then? (I didn’t exactly know what created static charge in real depth or anything. I’ve wondered, but am too lazy to look it up.)
If so. I’m guessing that the anions give the extra electrons to the cations I’m guessing. Causing all of the atoms to become neutral. Getting rid of static charge.
And I’m cringing so badly at the girl with the red hair. Hearing all of that lovely hair being ripped to pieces...
How to open?
Aw I like frizz! It makes my hair look bigger!
We've got to live with the elements anyways 😹 might as well find the way our hair reacts beautiful!
Star Cherry if you like frizz you don’t have frizz
@@miles3026 What's the point of going natural if you don't like *everything* natural about your hair?
I have 3-4c aka afro texture/curly hair. So I know a thing or too about frizz. I just so happen to like it too.
Star Cherry you make it sound like having natural hair is a choice and that there’s no point in doing something if you don’t like *everything* about it. nothing is perfect (i also have 3c hair)
@@miles3026 not everybody has thick hair. So the frizz sometimes helps if u can make it smooth
I have a tip for anyone with hair prone to tangling, or thick and curly hair. Always start brushing from the ends of your hair, then work your way up. Ideally use a wide toothed comb to thoroughly (start at the ends) comb before brushing. Or use a detangler.
The girl with the curly hair at the end of the video.
The ionic brush side looks so much better and tamed.
Or was the last part filmed before she brushed it 👀
So basically it helps if you’ve rubbed your hair against a balloon but it doesn’t help if you have naturally frizzy hair
This video relized me that insider more better than before ,hope fully in next video still like this 😂 this is very funny and cool
What I do to get rid of static in my hair is I just get the brush wet and comb my hair with it.
Sol Lillemoen Then it makes your hair look wet and flattened... I have a lot of static in my hair and I just pat it down after a brush.
How hot does it get?

Moral of the story: this only works on pin straight hair...go figure 😒

Red hair girl being negative, then the woman with short hair brushed it and it looked okay but they made it seem as it didn’t, the other hair with straight hair wast even brushing it she was pulling it like outwards literally doing both
living in florida with naturally curly hair sucks so much because of the humidity ughhh
Chelsea is so pretty. ❤️❤️❤️
