Once I got a medical card for seizures, edible drinks really helped me go slower with alcohol. Much prefer to be sippin a lil drink and get high as fuck. I wouldn’t suggest that obviously if people are in recovery but it helped me for sure. I quit coke and molly and shit cold turkey but alcohol was so fucking hard until I could get edibles.
He still shows up for letsplay to bless us with his presence from time to time which is much appreciated. I guess even he cant let go of the magical but chaos creation of his that is Achievement Hunter.
I know right? There was this point where I just wasn't hearing him in the videos and something about him, even just talking about bs stuff, brought a spark to everything. And with that looong period of where he wasn't in AH vids just made me sad and made me kinda drift away. Until one day, he just suddenly showed up and I literally screamed out his name in pure joy. I hope this amazing man keeps showing up from time to time to honor us with his presence and be the joyous light that he can be for so many of us!

I actually think he's been around for a lot of their in person content again and I love it.
Loved the "in a happy relationship" and showed Jack in Geoff's lap. Made me laugh.
I'm so happy he has salvaged his relationship with his daughter. For a few years there it was definitely starting to appear strained, which was heartbreaking considering how cute their occasional "collaborations" were when she was 6 or 7.
Poor Geoff, the divorce really tore him up and no one should go through what he went through and I hope he continues to find his happiness

Man this channel always finds a way to take me back. I started watching Rooster Teeth when I was 11, I'm 23 now. I hate to admit I have a more distant relationship with their content at this point. There have been a lot of changes both in RT and myself that have lead to a slow bleed away from their content and I have to say its sad, kind of like hanging out with a friend that you haven't seen in a long time only to remember that the two of you have gone down different paths in life. But the memories will always be there, from the movie references, to the lads vs the gents, to rage quit, to HORSE, to the scooter patrol, those videos helped me discover and be true to myself and these videos make me feel like the same awkward 14 year old escaping into a safe space where I could laugh and remember that life was okay. Mooncake, the internet needs more people like you. You're genuine, well-meaning , and a gifted storyteller. But above all else you're a symbol of what built the RT and AH community, someone who enjoys the ride and appreciates where it takes them, not what it gives them. I'm the exact same! I reckon we were in the golden age of RT before they sold themselves out to sponsors etc. I remember coming home from school to watch fails of the weak on a Friday to sit and die of laughter for the 5minute episodes to watching horse or cops n crooks. The golden era of CZcams

I think the podcast he did with burnie in 2017 where it was one of the first times he talked publicly about why he stopped drinking is when it hit me he had gone trough an insane transformation, it’s amazing what he’s done, that speech he gave when RT laid of people is also why we all love him, he cares and even tho I don’t watch RT stuff anymore, he is still someone I look up too

Geoff has certainly been through a lot and the fact he was able to turn his life around when he felt all odds were against him shows a lot about him
I’ve never listened to F*ckface but I might start after this video but I do know that when I listen to annual pass (the podcast with him and jack) he always sounds so happy and enthusiastic

That fact that I'm able to exist at the same time as him gives me such a warm feeling. Geoff has literally been a light in my life just by being who he is and I appreciate it with all of my being.
My memory is a bit fuzzy ut there was a live charity podcast thig where he openedly apologised to Jack and it broke my heart just seeing the emotion of them 2 as I always remembered the golden age of AH and just hearing that video made me cry as I always see Geoff and Jack is inseparable kind of like Ant and Dec or Clarkson, Hammond and May or Gav and Dan. I sort of fell off from RT and AH shortly after high school, and I hadn’t really heard about the going ons with a lot of them, so I’m happy to see Geoff doing well again. And I’ve recently gotten into Annual Pass and boy have I missed both Geoff and Jack.
my favorite AH members were Geoff and Gavin. i even watched their boring videos of minecraft behind scenes where they built material for the actual let'splay video. Geoff's laughter was so addicting lol. he changed a lot, to better of course, and I am so happy he is mentally and physically healthier. as a child he made me laugh, but now he taught me some important life lessons as i watched him during off topics and other podcasts, watching his mental downfall and rise. he is taking mental health seriously. He isn't afraid or ashamed showing his vulnerability. He is showing his love for his friends, co-workers and family, even with tears in his eyes. It really shows he cares so much about everyone and is a very emotional man. i think it's absolutely wonderful. I love him to bits and i wish him the best.
I won't lie, my interests in RT and Achivment Hunter has slowly gone down over the years, but if I see geoff I will drop everything to watch the video. I loke F**kFace and it probably the one show I listen to constently. I am so happy to see him doing better because he is an inspiration, a shining exsample of how to not let our demons defind you but owning up to them and not letting them fully loam over you once you've faced them.

Thing that makes me really respect Geoff is how he doesn't want to date fans since he is afraid of that power dynamic. It shows his respect for other people and concern for their well being. I am so glad he is staying sober.

Geoff will always be one of my favorite people. I have a huge amount of respect for him and I'm so damn happy that he's turned things around and is doing so well.
I don't really keep up with RT and AH much these days, but as someone who was an absolute mega fan for many, many years, this was very nice to watch. I'd already known about Geoff's sobriety, but it's good to know more details(even if some of those details are a little sad). He legitimately looks so much happier and healthier these days and well... I just can't help but smile at that. What an absolute legend.

having geoff be such a prominent figure in the circles i found myself in online in such important phases in my life is something i’ll never take for granted. how lucky i feel to have been able to enjoy his presence for as long as i have been allowed to. ive worried for him a lot through the deeper pits he’s found himself in, but i dont want to overlook his successes in taking care of himself and the things he believes in. glad he’s been appreciated the way he deserves.
I'm 5 months sober and I thought about Geoff a lot during the first few months. Even though he didn't talk about it a lot, he certainly was an inspiration to those trying to quit.

This has been heartbreaking as a viewer. I used to watch the minecraft let's plays back then they posted them on their main RoosterTeeth channel. I meet them through their Halo Reach Fails of the Week, I would watch using the CZcams app on my PS3. I stopped watching CZcams for a while when I studied Aerospace Engineering, when I came back to CZcams I had to research what happened and where did everyone go. I was soo heart broken I couldn't believe it. I'm always gonna be a Gamer, I don't even watch movies or TV anymore just because my only free time would be either Video games and Sports. I will miss everyone that left regardless of their situations. It's just not the same anymore 😔
Even though I’ve known the story of our amazing friend Geoff. This still remains one of the most amazing stories ever. Thank you for making this video and reminding me what it takes to be better.

@@jimothyphallus No, he technically left AH because he needed to work in one of the more important positions in the company(don't remember which one but I think it's more on the buisness side). He's still in content, just not as frequent, and has a podcast him and Gavin are in every week.

I still look to Geoff for guidance and support. This year I decided to go sober myself. I was kinda in the same boat with the liquor. I worked construction for the last year and hated it and who it made me. I was driving anywhere from Whitby to Cornwall Ontario in a 24hrs notice to build bridges. And with all that stress i was putting down a 26er of whiskey a night. Get up in the morning shaking down a few shots and back at it. In June after drinking myself unconscious and having some friends carry me inside i woke up and said no more. Ive been almost 6 months sober now, have a new job in my own town that i love, milking cows on my neighbours farm. And so much more energy and a happier outlook on life.
Sorry for the novel anyone who reads this. I just like to let people and maybe Geoff know what he’s showed me what could be done.
Hey hats off to you man, I'm in construction as well and get how hard it can be on anyone doing the labor aspect of it. A couple guys on site I oversee drive a hour and half (without traffic) just to put up with a 12 hour shift and turn back home and do it all over again. That's 15 hours of your life you don't control at minimum, minues the other 9 you get free time to do literally everything else in. Yeah...it's hard. Sadly I don't have any control as I'm 3rd party to them but I feel for everyone all the same. Glad you were able to get better, and hope you found something that fits your style more.
I’ve seen Geoff since RvB started and AH came to be. I have always seen him as like a dad. For that matter him and my actual dad are around the same age. I will always love and appreciate everything he’s done and how much he’s accomplished.
Even if I do not watch RT content anymore, I will always want Geoff to find success and happiness

As someone who was a fan for many years I can say, his wife was a terrible match for him. She is a radical feminist and I had seen her belittle him and not treat him very well on camera many times. Also RIP Achievement Hunter as of this week September 2023.

I genuinely love Geoff, it's my hope to one day work for roosterteeth and meet this man. We have similar paths and I too have delt with alcohol issues and I consider myself borderline alcoholic. I see Geoff's change and how he became a better person and it gives me so much respect for him.
Haven’t watch Achievement Hunter/Let’s Play videos for a while now. Mainly watch Rays streams as he is killing it on his own but Geoff was always one of my favourites. Great to see he turned his life around

I sometimes think about the episode of Achievement Haunters where Geoff just lays into himself. I cried a little bit when he was beating himself down, because it was obvious that he thought he had ruined his life. I’m so glad that he was able to come back around. I’m sure he still has regrets, but if he could see how amazing he is to all of us, I hope he would be able to forgive himself.
Man I love Geoff, growing up and watching him he was my rolemodel for so many things. If I have an internet father figure, it's him.

In spite of all the controversy and tribulations that RT as a company went through, the one silverest of silver linings is Geoff achieving sobriety. He deserves it after all he's been through

I went on an AH binge because one of Ray's livestreams was on my homepage.
Man, it's been 10-11 years since I first saw him and it's so bittersweet. I watched the last video on AH and had to stop when Geoff said he didn't want AH to end.
Silver lining is that since I know he's the boss now it makes sense. I would love to see him make new things that brought me towards his content like in 2012, but more importantly live a happy life.

Between the divorce, being a father, his alcoholism, and his many shows doing for RoosterTeeth, Geoff truly became the most burnt out I’ve ever seen a person get burnt out. Truly grateful that Geoff has gotten sober and is now happy, you have to give God credit, if you believe or not, because He truly is amazing and He works in amazing ways. Geoff got saved and saved himself.

I remember the days I would literally watch every video AH put out (this was before the lets plays and other stuff blew up). I think they became a victim of their own success. They start to make so much content you can’t keep up and then you start missing inside jokes and start feeling on the ‘outside’. It happened to me with other CZcamsrs too (like Oxbox) but somehow every year or so I keep coming back to RT and AH to see what they are up to. Burnie, Gus and Geoff are some of the most genuinely funny people I ever had the pleasure of listening to.

I got sober in 2020. I relapsed 2 weeks ago convincing myself I had been away from it long enough and could control it. After 3 days I got a DUI... I let down and betrayed everyone that had faith in me, lost both my jobs and now have to start over from scratch with the potential of having to serve jail time.
For all those in recovery. Do not take another drink. I flushed 1314 days sober down the toilet because a verbal argument with someone I love and could've possibly detonated everything Ive worked so hard to build.
