I genuinely don't get the hate for guest characters in Mortal Kombat or in any game. Like how is having guest characters like these not objectively cool?
Is it obvious, adding guest characters meaning they take away slot from the actual characters in the franchise. Don't get me wrong, I love guest characters but I do understand why some people hate it.
I’m not opposed to guest characters in general, but I think the amount we get per game is a little high. Having half of all DLC be guests feels like a lot
Homelander's moveset is boring on paper but the fact that all his moves cancel into flight makes him one of the most unique nrs characters even counting injustice. At any moment you are able to fly, cancel moves into flight and do air combos or continue existing combos. The trailers they showed for Homelander shows how complex and fun they made him. Imo he's far from boring, unlike omni man
I would argue Omni-man is more dynamic as a character. He feels supersonic in all he does. The way Homelander’s moves are coded and key-bonded are unnecessarily complex, and his “dash” is too slow to convey the power behind it.

The Joker came out at a time where the public was going through major super hero burnout, specially with Batman and everything surrounding him. Joker was once such a mysterious character, so seeing him appear so much so frequently (multiple cameos, Jared Leto's Joker, the polarizing solo Joker movie, Injustice 2, the Gotham show, Joker was just in too much stuff sharing way too much information) killed the magic of the character, and people started to get sick of the deranged clown and his Edgy fans. So seeing him appear again, in another cameo, and looking nothing like the appearance of any of the Jokers audiences actually liked (let's just say it everyone wanted Heath Ledger), left a bad taste in a lot of people's mouths. But, for me, his MK appearance is S tier; he looks like a modernized version of the old school clown King of crime, elegant yet grimy like a Tommy gun weilding mafioso. The level of violence in MK fits him so much more than that of Injustice's, letting his personality shine. And, while the costumes don't have cool references to other portrayals of the Joker, they do feel good on this version of the character. I dunno, just playing clown capo dressup and giving him a bunch of different cool suits just makes him feel like an organized crime warlord who actually has and moves money. I like when the Joker feels like someone who actually has power and influence, a lot of versions of the jonkler feel like they are broke and sleep in a cardboard box but somehow they pull expensive tech, weapons and goons out of thin air? This guy feels like his goons have health insurance, this one looks like he has a personal tailor and cane maker. And the bat puppet is *chef's kiss* perfect.

It bugs me how Kratos is the only video game guest character in MK so far. The rest after that is just a movies and tv shows characters (that count for those comics characters as well they all have movie and tv shows). Video game characters imo is lot more badass and cool to be added in MK compare to this movies/tv shows. The likes of Doom Slayer, Alex Mercer, Ryu Hayabusa, Pyramid Head, Dante, Vergil, Kain, Raziel, War, Death, Fury, Strife, Bayonetta, Bloodborne Hunter, Sweet Tooth, and many more...all this video games characters will be epic as hell if they were in MK.
I highly doubt bayonetta would appear due to how Nintendo is stingy with their characters I feel like Travis or Prince Fu would be better in my opinion.
Even though I don’t like MK1 with the whole timeline reset, the Kombat pack imo was the best I’ve seen in years. Adding both Homelander and Omniman in the same pack, when they easily could’ve put them in separate packs, was a generous move.

For me the best guest coming to MK was Joker. I love to play as him and the insane bizarre moveset. I mean, really? A puppet and hostages!? That was something that no one else but Joker could do.
The Joker was the second biggest surprise of MK11, besides KP3 that dropped out of literally nowhere; considering the superhero fatigue started around that time, how bad he was done in INJ2 and how much people wanted Ash Williams, NRS had to realy put the work to make people like him, and they nailed it. Not only is he fun to play, but also easy to pick up and realy good, top tier for most pros if I recall.
I really love the character Predator, and I've watched the movie multiple times. Netherrealm did an excellent job in bringing him to a fighting game. His moves, combos, interactions, finishers, and ending were all thrilling to experience. He became my main character when I played the game.
For more guests characters I would liked it if Freddy Krueger appeared again to show off more of his personality, but other characters would be John Wick, Chainsaw Man, and Akuma. Also could you do a tier list of the guests characters from the Injustice games I think that would be cool and keep up the great work I really enjoy your videos
You know, thinking about Michael Jai White who played Spawn in the 90s movie, I think Black Dynamite would be hilarious guest character. The movie and cartoon probably aren't famous enough, but he's such a silly over the top character I could see him having some fun fatalities and moves

I had an idea for a guest character that I think would probably be nearly impossible to pull off, but probably one of the greatest guest characters ever if they pulled it off, now when people bring up Myers and Chucky as guest characters they both have individual flaws, Myers not talking and also not having a super unique moveset just being a guy with a knife, and Chucky’s physical size, but what I realized is that Myers and Chucky make up for each other’s flaws when put together in a Ferra/Torr type of way, Chucky and Myers working together, Chucky gives Myers a voice, personality, and more moveset potential, and Myers allows for a normal sized character for the opponent to fight against, just imagine Chucky riding on Myer’s back, hell they could explain it with Chucky spreading his soul into Myers in order to control him as an ultimate weapon so he can become a God, it would work so well and honestly would be so iconic

I think that Leatherface is way better than B. It's all a matter of preference, of course :) But I'd like to point out that he feels no less alien than Predator / literal Alien, with his gurgling greeting, and his outro, where he just runs circles, giggling and swinging his chainsaw around, like a happy child. Also his interaction with Quan Chi is nice, where the latter just says: "I will put you down, dog!", and... well, I'd like to imagine that it's someone else who gets fed to the dogs afterwards :) Anyway, he was an amazing character -- I guess, people who are good at the game might say that Jason / Predator / Alien were indeed stronger (from the point of view of safety -- a lot of Leatherface's moves had slow startup or were unsafe), but he just felt so unhinged with that chainsaw, it was like a symphony of gore with him :) P.S. I'm not a fan of "Texas Chainsaw Massacre", btw, not in the slightest
I feel like Evil (Bad Ending) Delsin Rowe could be a great edition. Not only would he offer something similar to Chameleon, but could be like Alien in terms of being a hybrid. Just imagine him gaining the powers of some of the characters on the roster,ixed in with Video and Neon.
I just watched an hour and 20 minutes of this video to make sure you put Rambo in S tier and I’m so glad you did. Never been huge into Mortal Kombat but I’ve played the injustice games. But I bought and am playing Mortal Kombat 11 for Rambo and I am so impressed with him! Cant pit it down now.
I'm not a comic book reader in general, but they at least managed to get a lot of good pop culture references in there for the Joker. Feels like he was designed more for a casual Batman enjoyer audience than for a die hard Batman audience.

This is really specific but Ryūnosuke Akutagawa from Bungo Stray Dogs, he works for the Mafia, has a personality and ambitions that would could work with MK verse as he seeks recognition. His move set in anime is like Hybrid but he fights similar to Possessed Kenshi from MKX
i dont know if any tf2 characters would really make sense because they don't ever use anything other than guns or ranged projectiles generally. the only person to use his fists is heavy and pyro technically with the hot hand. although there might be things in the tf2 comics i don't know about
As a huge SNK fan. I would love to see Iori Yagami from The King Of Fighters in a MK game He is a character whose wild side would fit well in this universe being more like an Anti-hero, his movestet from KOF would ironically translate well in MK, his fatalities could had him entering in the riot of blood state and the interactions would be crazy
Spawn is may favorite guest character in MK, his gameplay is very in tune to how he fights in the comics, and the fact that they got Keith David to play Spawn, who voiced him in the animated series is one of the best things that Netherrealm has done.
An mk9 retrospective is a great idea! I would recommend making the video next as it was joint second place and there’s not many good/recent vids on the game

For me the best guest coming to MK was Joker. I love to play as him and the insane bizarre moveset. I mean, really? A puppet and hostages!? That was something that no one else but Joker could do.
The Joker was the second biggest surprise of MK11, besides KP3 that dropped out of literally nowhere; considering the superhero fatigue started around that time, how bad he was done in INJ2 and how much people wanted Ash Williams, NRS had to realy put the work to make people like him, and they nailed it. Not only is he fun to play, but also easy to pick up and realy good, top tier for most pros if I recall.
I really love the character Predator, and I've watched the movie multiple times. Netherrealm did an excellent job in bringing him to a fighting game. His moves, combos, interactions, finishers, and ending were all thrilling to experience. He became my main character when I played the game.

For more guests characters I would liked it if Freddy Krueger appeared again to show off more of his personality, but other characters would be John Wick, Chainsaw Man, and Akuma. You know, thinking about Michael Jai White who played Spawn in the 90s movie, I think Black Dynamite would be hilarious guest character. The movie and cartoon probably aren't famous enough, but he's such a silly over the top character I could see him having some fun fatalities and moves

I don't bat an eye when unredeemed villains get their gruesome fatality come up in a Mortal Kombat game.
I had an idea for a guest character that I think would probably be nearly impossible to pull off, but probably one of the greatest guest characters ever if they pulled it off, now when people bring up Myers and Chucky as guest characters they both have individual flaws, Myers not talking and also not having a super unique moveset just being a guy with a knife, and Chucky’s physical size, but what I realized is that Myers and Chucky make up for each other’s flaws when put together in a Ferra/Torr type of way, Chucky and Myers working together, Chucky gives Myers a voice, personality, and more moveset potential, and Myers allows for a normal sized character for the opponent to fight against, just imagine Chucky riding on Myer’s back, hell they could explain it with Chucky spreading his soul into Myers in order to control him as an ultimate weapon so he can become a God, it would work so well and honestly would be so iconic

It’s worth noting that Jason’s Pursuit doesn’t restrict motion, it inverts controls I think which can be even worse.

I think that Leatherface is way better than B. It's all a matter of preference, of course :) But I'd like to point out that he feels no less alien than Predator / literal Alien, with his gurgling greeting, and his outro, where he just runs circles, giggling and swinging his chainsaw around, like a happy child. Also his interaction with Quan Chi is nice, where the latter just says: "I will put you down, dog!", and... well, I'd like to imagine that it's someone else who gets fed to the dogs afterwards :) Anyway, he was an amazing character -- I guess, people who are good at the game might say that Jason / Predator / Alien were indeed stronger (from the point of view of safety -- a lot of Leatherface's moves had slow startup or were unsafe), but he just felt so unhinged with that chainsaw, it was like a symphony of gore with him :)
P.S. I'm not a fan of "Texas Chainsaw Massacre", btw, not in the slightest

I feel like Evil (Bad Ending) Delsin Rowe could be a great edition. Not only would he offer something similar to Chameleon, but could be like Alien in terms of being a hybrid. Just imagine him gaining the powers of some of the characters on the roster,ixed in with Video and Neon.

I just watched an hour and 20 minutes of this video to make sure you put Rambo in S tier and I’m so glad you did. Never been huge into Mortal Kombat but I’ve played the injustice games. But I bought and am playing Mortal Kombat 11 for Rambo and I am so impressed with him! Cant pit it down now.
I'm not a comic book reader in general, but they at least managed to get a lot of good pop culture references in there for the Joker. Feels like he was designed more for a casual Batman enjoyer audience than for a die hard Batman audience.

My only wish for Joker is the VA. No shade to Raidens actor, he did a good job. But Mark Hamill is one of my absolute favorite vocal performances for the character, that would have made him truly perfect to me.

i dont know if any tf2 characters would really make sense because they don't ever use anything other than guns or ranged projectiles generally. the only person to use his fists is heavy and pyro technically with the hot hand. although there might be things in the tf2 comics i don't know about

Spawn is may favorite guest character in MK, his gameplay is very in tune to how he fights in the comics, and the fact that they got Keith David to play Spawn, who voiced him in the animated series is one of the best things that Netherrealm has done.
DOOM Slayer would be a dream come true.

Ghostface, T-1000 and Conan I feel won't get very high on the list, but I hope Ghostface doesn’t end up bottom, his faithfulness with his voice lines will save him if everything else doesn't.

Yeah I only ever played the PS3 version because it was the tournament standard at the time (and still is), but I'm an Xbox kid at heart.

Im still hella disappointed that they didnt decide to do Kratos again. Sony has relaxed their stingy policies over the years, so NRS should be able to let him be on all consoles instead of just PS if they bring him back.
The theme for MK1 is actually Superman copycats or Characters with similar color scheme to Superman , although peacemaker doesn’t look like one , his motto is delivering peace , is similar to superman

Joker's biggest detraction is that default intro. It's incredibly annoying. I do like that the voice acting is reminiscent of his TAS/Justice League voice, rather than something closer to a movie.
