Remember, we are producing a show that we’d prefer to not cut up for continuity. At the end of the day, we appreciate you watching, but I’d prefer to not be mischaracterized, esp when he made us aware of the disgusting things his mother did to him. To be honest, I felt bad for him. Real pity. No one deserves that, esp from a person who birthed you, and I truly wish him the best in fighting those traumas and course-correcting. At the beginning of the show the married woman said, "it's an American problem ". It's a world problem with every child who is born into a single family household. But here in America, the black community has a 75% rate of being born into a single parent household is a problem. Why try to include other demographics to deflect or distract from the reality of an issue within the community? Accountability! The black community needs to do better, women have access to sex, and men have access to marriage. Can't have a child unless a woman decides to sleep with someone out of wedlock. I am female and I think there are more deadbeat moms out there, people just dont talk about it is as much. Or as eloquently as The Smart Guy. I felt what he was saying. He spoke nothing but facts, I can see why he has that name.
Because a lot of people think just being present is enough or better than the absent father. But you can be physically present and still neglect your kids emotionally which is equal to having a non existent father. My mother was a single parent and I never knew who she was. But from the outside looking in “single present mother” is the narrative, so women don’t get knocked as much.
There just might be just as many deadbeat mothers as there is dads. I personally have a few friends who married single fathers who had custody of their children w deadbeat uninvolved mothers. I think the single dads aren't as vocal as single mothers are. Also, when I worked at the welfare office there were a few young single dads who had stories about their deadbeat bms.

As a woman, I don’t have an issue with how Smart spoke/viewed his mom. Women, this doesn’t go against all mothers. Only crappy ones, that don’t put their best foot forward for their kids. We not perfect but we should work to give our kids the best of us. They didn’t ask to be here, we brought them into this world.
Keep it real this definitely goes against most mothers. Because most children have negative traumatizing experience with their mothers. Their mothers don’t care the trauma that they have delivered onto their child, nor the harmed they cost. Most women never say I’m sorry. I will need to they don’t need it. So it’s more than most. Because as we grow and mature in life and deal with other women whether we do now or female we see the negative attributes of most women. Especially after they become mothers.
