      As an American, I am utilizing a high form of respect with the term "Miss".
      Additionally, as a devout Catholic, I am often remembering her even now in devotions through which she probably gains more honor in Heaven (Holy Mass and daily prayer)- than anything else that I could offer on her behalf.

    Back here again. I love everything about this performance. The understatement, but so technically correct, the lack of pretension, the beautiful line of each, how they mirror their port de bras, head movements. The lovely use of hands by Fonteyn. How one is drawn into the performance, and feels part of the tragedy. Glorious.

    Technique may have surpassed these 2 icons, but their artistry is still one to still be observed as this is the saddest goodbye of all Giselle ballets I have seen. As Giselle's spirit fades in the daylight he holds her and carries her away from her grave. Then, a one last effort to feel at least her hand...knowing that this is it....they must part.

    Ottimi AMBEDUE nel mantenere il filo della narratio emotiva sentimentale fino al tragico sdilinquimento finale intensamente commediale. Ottime le positure figurali e la sensazione di continuum narrativo nelle sequenze successive dei passi del balletto. BRAVISSIMI.BIGHIN GIULIO RENZO

    The thing is Margot’s technique is still correct. She’s always turned out, always pointing her feet and holding positions. Her feet aren’t as bendy and she’s not as flexible as the dancers today but she is still performing the movements correctly

    • @jillgooner
      @jillgooner Před rokem +6

      Technic is different now. Dancers were treated pretty badly as far as care and treatments were concerned in those days but ear whacking isnt the be all and end all. A lot of dancers now look more like gymnasts and have far less beauty in the natural movements of arms and head.

    adore this ballet..the music is totally enthralling...(amongest the many others, too) but Fonteyn and Nureyev surpass EVERYONE else....what makes them better is their keen sense of timing , drama, their innate sense of "each other"....so evident watching them ,,,plus they were in love with each other...I think that was a big factor Margot's face looks exquisite here, and Rudi,,,,,,,he's just one gorgeous man ... I just gawk at his jaw dropping legs

      Kay: hay una película de los hermanos Jacqui anda David Morris, " Nureyev", que la han puesto en los cines, sobre la vida de Nureyev, donde se habla de su vida, la miseria de Rusia, y sus mejores actuaciones. Supongo que la podrás encontrar y verla. Habla también de los tártaros. A mi gusto mucho. Esta muy bien hecha.
      Por cierto, la madre de Margot, era brasileña, no se si lo sabías.
