  • In this video I explain the rationale behind the design and contrast the practical application of these trigger groups. I also touch on the upgrades available for them. The intention of this video is to inform the end-user so they can make an informed decision on what suits their specific application.

    I can promise anyone, should you ever pull your weapon and have to use it in a defensive environment, you will never comment on how the trigger had creep or a bad wall. That being said, the key is training and practice! Johnny, I have been a Glock armorer for 20 years and I always learn something new from you. Keep everyone shooting straight!

    I’ll admit it, I was literally the guy last week asking about a combat trigger, -but- I’m a competitor, an instructor, and have decades of formal training after the military, so I asked about a competition trigger instead. Dude set me straight, and I’m now awaiting the arrival of two combat models. I fell into the normal “what’s good for most shooters, but I’m honestly a lot better than most shooters” routine. I’ve even told students “don’t mess with the triggers on your carry guns” while breaking my own rule. We learn, and we grow, or we die.

    So happy to have found me Johnny Glock. I’ve been through a few different trigger combos and none of them were “it”.. I haven’t purchased yet, but from all the words he’s saying, it sounds like the combat group is exactly what I’ve been looking for. And now, even though I originally told myself I didn’t want any “bling”, I’m finding myself upgrading small things like slide locks and pins with a touch of color. My initials are JG…and they are engraved on the VEX. I’d say it’s a sign lol…that my wallet is just gonna keep getting emptied.

    Thank you again for being so informative on your triggers and Glock trigger system in general. I learned so much unique lessons that I can't get anywhere else. I bought 4 triggers from you and they are simply the best in the market. I also have other triggers from other reputable companies, and none comes close.(and yes, I do have that many Glocks). I buy your triggers sometimes as a way of paying for your videos because I truly believe your videos are filled with information that I should not get for free. My only suggestions is "please, for the love of God, work on my Sig P320 so I can change my competition gun!" In all seriousness, keep up the good work and stay safe.

    BTW, if you are trying to get the camera to focus on small details like the Striker or trigger shoe laser engraving, it helps if you flatten your palm right behind what you are trying to show (like you are back-framing what you are showing). That way the auto-focus will focus in on whatever is taking up the majority of the center of the camera.

    Well, I must say, I was looking for a second 10mm pistol that has more holster options after purchasing my Tanfoglio Defiant Stock Master 10mm. I made some upgrades to it and it’s FANTASTIC. Since things are as they are in society, I’ve decided to switch from 9mm to 10mm as my preferred carry option. I’ve always liked the Glock 20, I’ve got big hands, but I know I’m going to need to upgrade the trigger. It’s been awhile since I last owned a Glock and I had an Overwatch Trigger in my Glock 17 that I once owned. Looking for a trigger kit for the 20/21 has been a bit tough, right now. Luckily, I stumbled upon you and your trigger upgrades. So, I purchased your combat kit and ordered a new Glock 20 as well. I’m looking forward to seeing how it compares to my Tanfoglio, 10mm after I install the trigger kit w/ the metal shoe and Trijicon night sights. You seem to produce a rather high quality product. I hope to have high praise for it.

    I just ordered the Combat Trigger kit last week. It shipped a few days ago and is in transit to me now. I ordered it with the flat shoe upgrade and the striker upgrade. It wasn't cheap, but I do believe based on the knowledge Johnny Glocks has that I will be very happy with it. And If I am happy with it, I plan on ordering another one just like it.

    • @carllove3705
      @carllove3705 Před 4 lety

      @deucedeuce22oz Not for me. The trigger job I did on my Glock, the famous 25 cent polish job plus some reduced power springs, was far better than the Combat Trigger Kit I ordered from Johnny Glocks. And it was cheap to do myself, where as I paid $360 plus shipping for the JG trigger kit. So no, I wouldn't recommend it. Mine is sitting on a shelf in my garage and I have my trigger job installed in the pistol.

    • @LinkxUSMC87
      @LinkxUSMC87 Před 2 lety +3

      @@carllove3705 bullshit. A polish job on a factory trigger isnt going to reduce over travel or shorten reset at all, neither will the springs. Maybe you like it better because it has a lighter break but if it does then i would probably recommend against carrying it for self defense.

      @carllove3705 Před 2 lety

    @Magneticitist Před rokem +1

    A perfect Glock trigger job to me is just tweaking it so that there is a defined wall, and no roll through the break. The pretravel and resistance inherent in cocking the striker in the process makes it combat ready automatically for me. The clean defined break with no mush makes it great for target shooting. It is admittedly not super easy to accomplish that though, and typically I'm stuck with one frame married to one slide + parts for the engagement to be proper.

He ended up buying a crazy 1000 rounds of Geco Super Matrix 9mm Luger Ammo 94 Grain Frangible Lead-Free, but I've never shot frangible ammo before. From what I hear it can be extremely corrosive and even damage the breech face of your slide
    Geco uses the sintox lead free primers.

      @@ryanmackenzie4981 I had an overwatch trigger with np3 (just the trigger with flat shoe) I wasn’t overly impressed. The trigger was fine but I learned that I wasn’t a fan of a flat trigger and it felt like something was dragging causing it to have a heavier pull but other than that it felt stock. I’m sure I could have found the issue and fixed it but it wasn’t worth it for me. I went back to the oem and just picked up a JG trigger kit with striker on Black Friday.

    I'm still a little lost. I have a g19 and it's got the worst factory trigger ever. I would like to have a more predictable flat faced trigger I would like the combat trigger. Is there a way to know I can get it to 4.5 pounds? I really don't want anything lighter then that.

      Try the "10 cent trigger job".
      Johnny has a video on how to do it.
      Buffing wheel and very fine polishing compound.
      Polish everything that makes contact with another surface, because even pretty much the entire transfer bar plays a part in the trigger pull.
      Pay close attention to the cruciform and striker contact surfaces.
      Remember:
      You're going after a bright polish to smooth up the action, not trying to remove metal.
      Less is more.

      @@wanderingcalamity360 so thr only complaint I seen was maybe 1 out of 100 hard primer steel case wouldn't fire but I just put a 6lb striker spring rather than the 5lb before first shots. I haven't had an issue. Someone else also mentioned by going up to a 6lb spring that they broke the pin on their gen 5 glock dry firing without snap caps. So I'd make sure to do that too.
