Montréal: Plusieur vitrines brisé lors de la manifestation contre la brutalité policière 2024-03-15

L'événement annuel du 15 mars à Montréal, focalisé sur la contestation de la brutalité policière, a conduit à l'arrestation d'au moins une personne suite à des incidents en centre-ville. Le SPVM a rapporté une dizaine de méfaits, incluant l'utilisation de pyrotechnie et de fumigènes par les manifestants, ainsi que des actes de vandalisme ciblant surtout des établissements financiers.
Une arrestation a été effectuée pour agression sur un policier. Le rassemblement s'est tenu à l'intersection des rues Sainte-Catherine et Beaudry, où les forces de l'ordre étaient mobilisées dès 17 h.
Cette année, l'organisation de la manifestation a été reprise par le «Collectif 15 mars», qui succède au groupe précédent en place depuis 1997. Ce nouveau collectif prône une opposition au profilage sous toutes ses formes et appelle à limiter les interventions policières et la présence de la sécurité privée dans les espaces publics.
During the annual March 15 event in Montreal, focused on protesting against police brutality, at least one person was arrested following disturbances in the city center. The Montreal Police Service (SPVM) reported about a dozen acts of vandalism, including the use of pyrotechnics and smoke bombs by protesters, and targeted vandalism primarily at financial institutions.
One arrest was made for assaulting a police officer. The gathering took place at the intersection of Sainte-Catherine and Beaudry streets, where law enforcement was deployed from 5 p.m.
