Great vid Nick & Craig. This addressed virtually all of my problems with the setup of my own BS400, It is most appreciated.

I really liked how clear the tutorial was and that he gave easy to understand instructions on how and why to set everything up. I don't know why I love instruction videos even for things I'll never be using, well I do, I'm a why? person, never grew out of it. I also liked how as he explained things he stayed right on point only deviating to point out important features like the cut off system. Thanks Nick and Craig.

Craig, thank you for taking time to break away from your busy work schedule to schedule this band saw maintenance program with Nick. Nick, thank you for posting this informative video show. Very much appreciated.....! May you and your loved ones have a great safe day...!

Good informative video on bandsaw setup. Should help anyone as most bandsaws work on this principle. Cheers Nick and Craig

As the owner of a BS350s I found this very useful. he pointed out a few bits I had no idea about which will hopefully help get my curve cutting blades running true.

Hi Nick, thanks for the video on the set up for this Bandsaw, I have the same machine, it’s running a lot better now that I have reset everything, it’s surprising how much better a few adjustments make, so thanks for that. Also I do know John Davis, and have been down to his shop,it’s a shame he has had close down, he’s a nice bloke. So keep up the good work, and keep on waffling!!!! (-: 👍. Roger and out☠️

Hi Nick, This is a TOP CLASS video. I have just purchased a Record BS300e and even after reading the instruction manual and Watching the Record DVD Master Class that came as part of the package I was having difficulty getting the Machine setup correctly. Luckily I found your CZcams presentation which I followed as near as possible and I now have my Bandsaw running perfectly. The one part I had trouble with though was setting the lower guide bearings due to the protective blade guard obstructing the view of the blade guides. To ensure I was clearing the gullet of the blade it was necessary to remove the protective plastic guard which was a nightmare on the BS300. I might do a short video to show the best method of removing and replacing this item because without it is impossible to set the side blade guides.
Again it was only thanks to your video otherwise I wouldn't have got my saw setup properly.
    Regards
    Fred from UK

That is an excellent video, One of the best I have seen as it gives far more detail that new owners will need. I have the same machine and it is superb. I have also used the 1/8" blade with the Carter Stabilizer which is ideal for the smaller blades. Well done guys. Malcolm (UK) INteresting to see just before you took off the 1/2" blade, the tension meter was well above the norm. Also, if anyone does remove the top wheel ( I never have in 4 years) remember to mark the position, otherwise the balancing weights will not be correct, if put back on in another position which is important. I would suggest the wheels are not removed.

That was fascinating! What a master of his machines! You can tell he really loves his work and loves his machines. I think I understood most of it, which kudos to him for being so articulate. Thank you Nick for showing that to us. Slower speed for the resins! Now I’m waffling..❤️👍love you, thanks for all of your videos, I love your work, I never know what to expect, which is half the fun.

Thanks Craig, really a quite thorough run through. Only suggestion might be a safety cut-off on the table blade gard at the front of the table slot. that bit is a safety feature after all. I love that this machine has a step down pulley, but why not a rheostat speed control for more versatility? Thanks Nick for having Craig in to show us the intricacies of your band saw.

Hi Nick mate, were you stood in that hole again?
I`m guessing you will get another two band saws now!? one with a wider blade, and one with the belt set to a slower speed, because going on the amount of chucks you own, you wont wanna keep changing the blade or speed on that one lol
    Just joshing mate :)

  • @thespanielinquisition7167

Good saw but a real bastard to set the guides. DONT track the blade in the centre of the wheel, that's a common misconception put out by manufacturers, because the wheel is crowned, you want the rear of the gullet of the blade to be central on the wheel, that way the tension is on the front cutting edge of the blade instead of in its centre - do it that way and you will never get drift
