Put some respect on David De Gea…no fall from grace but a man with new priorities and he doesn’t need to play. Let a club truly show how much they need him or he’s chilling for the rest of his life.
Nah bro he wants to play, he wanted a specific contract to stay at united, they wouldn’t give it to him, cuz they thought they could have a mad transfer window, that didn’t work 🤡. Then he got offers from various clubs, but didn’t want to go to any of them, he didn’t want to be a sellout in Saudi, he didn’t want to be a second choice at Bayern or Atletico and didn’t want a short term contract at Newcastle. He still wants to play, he just wants the right offer and the right team. Leverkusen would be great, champions league football next season, and he’s a little better than Hradecky, so I think he’d start. But I totally agree, not a fall from grace, just a personal choice.

He definitely was one of the problems but not one we needed to get rid of right away because he still showed his quality with his crazy shot stopping. He was literally the reason we weren’t mid table in previous seasons and has kept Utd relevant. It really hurt me that the club disrespected such a legend like Dave by not giving him a send off as well. One of the greatest keepers of this generation. I’d even say top 15 of all time. I’m sure he’d find a club and give it everything because he was one of few who actually cared about the club 💔

I think it’s just a personal choice, the man has been playing top flight football since fergie was at United. A club with maybe the most pressure in all of Europe besides maybe Real or Barca. Truly, one of the most unbalanced, overpaid goalkeepers ever. Fair play to him for extracting what he can, he's priced himself out of further work, because he was being paid more than he is worth.
I still and will never get over how DeGea was treated by United and like it or not the team hasn't been the same since he left. Every goalkeeper will make errors but what errors he did in a year Onana makes them in a month.

My personal take is that he didnt want to leave united but if he did then a new club would have to meet some specific requirements, the main one being closer to his family.
We definitely shouldn't have let him go, his distribution aside he was still one of the best in the league and our defence was plenty capable of making up for his shortcomings and always knew they could rely on his shot stopping ability. Onana has shown just how good ddg was and how important he was to our entire defence.

Your defense has let the attackers have over 190 shots in just the last 4 games. It's crazy. Onana suffers enormously with a defense as mediocre as yours. Have you ever seen Onana concede 7 goals in a single match? You don't even deserve Onana. And he doesn't improve, he gets back to his level. I have to remind you that he was voted best goalkeeper in the UCL last year? A team went with him to the UCL final where they lost to City conceding just one goal. Onana should have gone to a real team and not Man UTD. Keep blaming the good players but everyone sees that good players become bad players when they come to your club.

He's only 32 which isn't old for a keeper at all. Could easily have 6 years at the top left. It's very hard to imagine him not playing for a big club again. The only thing is having a year off - bound to impact his game (though I'd imagine he's still been training somewhere). Maybe a slight step down in level to a team like Roma/Sociedad/Lyon. Plus you'd imagine a player of his status would be an easy sell by his agent to the MLS.
