You know for a happy ending they could've made it that Faust grows sympathy for the Homunculli daughters and raises them as his own and he would just bury his daughter properly...

Ignore me I'm a retarded They are not puppets at all. Faust pretty much created humans with a physical flair based on the materials used. They are human in every way that matters.
7:00 at that moment Faust realized he made a Mary sue.
Most people may miss the fact Faust was the most successful in the true ending.
In the true ending, young Faust preserves his daughter and revives the warlock (or future Faust)
When the warlock was revived, he gained a younger body of himself (by stealing from young Faust) and takes back his well preserved daughter
(Although the game does not mention it explicitly , I believe it is implied that the warlock and his "friend" gave young Faust a new body)
This explains why young Faust wakes up in a new body and his daughter disappeared
This concludes Future Faust's long gambit; he has a new body (with his previous appearance),vast amount of knowledge and more than enough time to revive his daughter
In a way you could say that this is a hidden happy end implied in the true ending, but it depends on how you interpret it
The only remaining question is, why did the cycle start in the first place? Who tricked the first Faust?
Who knows? Probably the writer had too much dark magic involved

I don't think so because the story says that the absorbs both wife's and the daughter soul to strengthen his own. If he really wanted to same then he would find some way to save his wives and daughters souls, while continuing the cycle
@@everythingisscience658 I think Faust attempted this when he became the Master Warlock realizing who he was and attempted to increase his life AND save his family then he started to to strengthen his own soul with that of his wife and daughter then attempted to take young Fausts soul and trying to rewrite history somehow, until he realizes he is unable to, do to young Fausts will to live and realizes that young Fausts drive was his hatred of the Master Warlock and his ego being tricked
Realizing this he erases the unconscious young Fausts memory by 2 years, leaves the magic book to manipulate young Faust into attempting to put the soul into the body that was the Master Warlocks and young Fausts success in doing so results in his body dying, his old friend saving him and continuing on this chain where the Master Warlock will get a new body and ultimately succeeds in his endeavor.
I may have written something wrong here but i think this is right, if not or you have doubts about it (which you probably should) just check out Falcons video on the true ending

@@TaurusTheCrazyBull that doesn’t fit. Once the warlock tricks Faust he goes out into the world learns dark magic becomes the master warlock and then goes back for revenge on the warlock that tricked him.
I'd say that the Elric Brothers had it easy. Sure one of them had to replace some of his limbs with automail and sure the other one needed a new body and sure they had to kill their mother, who came back wrong, but at least none of them had to be trapped in a hopeless loop like Faust.
Kind of wish the game had a definitive good ending that lets you break the cycle without failing in the game or something, I don't know

Tbh, the way Faust treats his homunculi, a lot of the times even enjoying killing them, I see him as a villain, and don't mind that he only gets bad endings.

in the pacifist ending doesnt it mean that the next timelines' faust wont go evil cause this timelines' faust doesn't become the warlock to kill the next ones wife and daughter.

JUGS I thought the Warlock Faust transferred his soul into the daughter, and everything else goes as is.
if faust dies because he hangs himself then he wont be alive to become the warlock in the first place. thus the warlock will never poison his wife and kill his daughter. if that doesn't happen then Faust would probably just work as an alchemist in that town until some other awful thing befalls him and his family or they grow old and die.
If you consider there being alternate realities then yes, there is a "happy" fause. If not than he just created a paradox and none of the game ever happens.

The runaway ending makes no sense to me. It's obvious through dialogue and letters that the villagers know the girls don't live long. I guess it's possible they didn't realize it's because Faust has been killing them, but considering the reasons they've all been exiled, would they really care enough to form a mob and destroy their source of labor?
Wells I would think it's more of the fact that he can't keep them contained. And because they run away unhappy etc. Society start to feel for them too even though they are not human to say. It's almost like animals. We eat them like nature does what it must... but if we find out that they are being mistreated by the farmers or the butcher's etc, then we put a stop to that mistreatment because it's clearly not right.
Yeah, but in your example, Hitler is a direct threat to the Jewish Mafia, so they'd have something to gain from killing him. Everything I've seen with these people suggests that they're really only out for themselves, which is why killing the man who enables their businesses to thrive seems out of character. Especially after the whole town let his wife die because he couldn't afford to pay anyone for help.
I see. Perhaps the villagers who killed Faust are none of his customers? Sure someone who has need of Faust and his homunculi would be willing to turn a blind eye to his atrocities but other people who either don't know Faust or have anything to do with him wouldn't be so lenient.
I suppose that's possible. We don't really see anyone else during the course of the game, so I didn't consider that there might be many more people living there.
I guess they made some sort of bond with all the humunculi who were working with them
Maybe Faust said them that they live short lives but the humunculi who escaped started to expose Faust lies and cruel acts
Some villagers just feel bad for them and disgusted of Faust's actions

In the end there's no Happy Ending when it involves the use of Transmutation. That's what the game is trying to tell us. This is why I love this series. Thank u Falcon, now the story can be put to rest...
Rain Zielon That's false. Nothing can be happy because of Faust himself. His creations were very obviously not evil. Due to Faust being a garbage person there can be no happy ending.

Rain Zielon The town loved the humunculi. They even went to free them during the escape ending after hearing how Faust was treating them. It's ironic. In the pursuit to save his real daughter, he ended up creating countless other daughters who could have so easily passed as real daughters. It's almost like every daughter he made had an element of his ideal daughter.

So the moral of the story is that Faust is the heartless crustacean in this story.

You still need to make all of the imperfect hommunculi! Like the despair one from the tutorial! There are several combinations and I feel like the game wouldn't be complete without seeing those.

The annoying thing about this game is how the true ending more like bad ending while the other alternative ending more like the good ending.

Faust, after trying everything and not knowing what to do next, creates the perfect daughter a second time. The ending goes the same way except instead of removing her soul he strangles her out of frustration. As he is doing it, the perfect daughter places her hand on his cheek as tears start to flow down his face. He then break down crying on her chest as she comforts him like the perftect daughter she was created to be. Finally accepting his daughters death he accepts his new daughter as his family.
I agree the best ending is the pacifist where he refuses to kill. The devs of this game seem extremely set on evil and despair not allowing the smallest bit of sunshine on their story. They could have done so much more with it. The end is just fubar.

The best ending is the real one and there is no literal cycle!! At least there you get to live on as MW even if you're alone.
For Faust it is a cycle,but when he become Master Warlock he is not him anymore but a shadow and even more disturbing person than Faust. By killing is wife and Daughter he starts the process of becoming Faust into the master warlock, making this Selfish but good hearted healer into a Dark magict crazy user . Who knows what he did after controlling his daughter's body and dispatching young Faust, but it really doesn't matter because there's no Faust left in him but The Evil and Ambitious Master Warlock.

So he didn't manage to keep his family and himself alive at once but the ending does imply that he was able to keep himself alive, possibly as the daughter. Doesn't that mean that when Faust comes back to life again he can easily break the cycle?
It is never implied that Faust needs to be himself to use his magic if he already knows it, so when older Faust failed to extract his younger soul he did what he did at the end to keep himself alive, so when he comes back doesn't that mean that, in whatever body he is now, he could break the cycle? He has no reason not to. But then again, even if Faust DOESN'T save his family, his old self is still alive. That means Faust technically isn't in a time loop, guys since old self saved himself in a last ditch effort the story of Faust isn't over, he is probably now in his daughters body.
The ONLY way it is actually a time loop is if old Fausts last ditch effort left him back in his younger selfs body somehow, with no memories. I doubt this is what happened for two reasons:
1. Faust honestly has no reason to do this, why would he rather be stuck in an infinite time loop than just pass on? Especially if he won't even remember it.
2. He straight up said he tore his own soul out, if he wanted to be in his young body why not just switch right there and then? And if he COULDN'T switch right there and then because Faust still wanted to live, then there is no reason he would be able to switch later on.
This is my conclusion, Faust lives on somewhere. Perhaps he doesn't interfere in the past simply because he almost died permanently the first time, interfering again could just make him actually die this time. On top of that, since he has already interfered once interfering a second time could cause the time when he intefered the first time to no longer exist, and in that case, couldn't he cease to exist?
Also a lot of people have an odd misconception, they think that Faust attempted to take his younger selfs soul when the daughter stabbed him. No, this is not the case. Faust attempted to take his younger selves soul before then, and he failed. Then in a last ditch effort, he erased his memories, made the book, then puts his own soul in the soul place. Young Faust wakes up, does the events of the game, puts old Fausts soul in the daughter, the daughter/Old Faust stabs him, and young Faust goes into another body. Think, why did the hame show a different picture from the soul swap? Why did Faustneed to put the book there and extract his soul if he attempted to trick himself in the girls body the first time. No, that's not how it happened.
The cicle of damnation means that Faust will forever go through the pain he did, not that it is an infinite loop. His family will always die, he will always murder his fake daughters, and he will always die.
One chunk of evidence that supports this is after the daughter stabs Faust he doesn't die, this isn't normal! Old Faustwas behind this, he put young Fausts soul in another body when he killed him. That's why that happened.
I most likely think Faust is just afraid of nearly dying again. That's why he lets what happened happen all over again.
So, this is what happens next: Old Faust is now in his daughters body and young Faust is out studying magic, in order to make sure young Faust studies hard, becomes old Faust, and does the body swap old Faust stays away from young Faust while he studies and becomes who he becomes, then when young Faust does the body swap old Faust reclaims his riches. He does this because if he got them before it would intefere with the timeline. That's the full story, and the original Faust was surprisingly successful and ends up rich all over again, just in his daughters body. His family will forever remain dead, but he only ever wanted revenge for being tricked anyway. Old Faust will probably switch his body with another person again someday, and will be successful since this person does not harbor the anger toward him young Faust did. That is the story of Faust, the immortal wizard.
That's my take on things, I'd say given what Faust did at the end there is no way this is truly a time loop. Hope you enjoyed it.
Then that just makes this entire story end with a even more depressing downer end.
I mean, consider it like this, that just means that this doesn't end up being a time loop, but instead something worse, a recursive event, because if this is not a time loop, it's something off the likes of what 999 and Virtue's Last Reward has given us, a temporal shift, except the body needs not exist in the 'other' past, for the process to be successful. (If you don't know about those two games, I highly suggest you brush up on them, before you think about what I said here.)
In other words, you're implying that more and more MW-Fausts are being created, spreading across the various timelines. Because the presence of the original in the prior timeline, results in a timeline split, regardless of what occurs and what changes. That means that although it's not a loop, it's a endless process, which only brings more suffering, except it's not limited to one Faust anymore, it's for more and more Fausts in other timelines.
And considering that MW-Fausts are drunk on power and wealth, it essentially means that save for a typical hero event, the world where he is present are effectively screwed. And so the lives of every Faust in every timeline fall to ruin.
And now I wonder if there was any way to stop this bullshit before it began. But then again, this started far too early to even know where the origin point was. So I guess that you made this ending much more darker.
I really don't know whether to congratulate you for actually making a sound argument, or curse you for the fact that your theory makes the story much more bleaker and actually hopeless, this time without any means of fixing all of this, since at least time loops can be changed through natural means. But a recursive event? Nada of a chance there.
I thought there was another ending where if you infuse the soul into your daughter when her body' is rotting you get another ending?

overly simple game it insists you cant find peace in what you make after a tragic loss... i disagree... and have never completed a game since, its fine if the devs are too close minded to conceptualize an ending where someone finds peace... i dont have to participate in theyre dilusion, by completing the story they think is nesicary. so iv raized the various sumons and creations to theyre best level, and called it complet... or as complet as the limited scope of the devs would allow.
