On their website it states the Type C or now called Snorkel Tri Fuel kit won’t work on any Generator over 12hp and if you have more then a 12hp engine you will need a Type 4 Tri Fuel kit. But I’ve seen videos of Generator’s with 13 hp motors using the Type C kit and they seem to do well.

I was wondering if you would provide your opinion as to whether or not you feel this "snorkel" can adequately deliver enough gas through what appears to be a rather narrow tube....especially the portion that runs through the gasket. I really want to purchase this kit for my B&S 7000W generator but I'm leery that it will not perform adequately enough under a heavy load. I'm also curious as to how my generator would run using gasoline with that "probe" sticking through the choke?

+Vincent Baldo Hi, did you see my other vid on the completed project? "Quiet Generator Project". I ran 10 or 12ft. of 1/2 " line into a 5500w gen. I removed the gas tank to allow more air movement so I never used gas with the tri fuel kit. I never had a problem with it though. There is a flow control "T" that I closed down about 1/2 way so too much gas will not flow. You can flood the carb when first "purging" the regulator at start up so too much gas flow can be a problem in my experience. Get the correct kit for your size gen. and you'll be just fine! Check your length of tubing run compared to your gen. size. You may need to go to 3/4"?. US Carburation is very helpful and they have the flow charts.

+robert cuthill Just to mention also. I have run the gen from N.G. while the heater was running and demanding N.G. That was the real test and it passed with flying colors.

U.s. carburetion kits look pretty nice but I'm not all the way sold on the rubber snorkel kit. Here's why if that rubber deteriorates over time and falls apart into the motor it goes. it could bend a valve and shut off the engine or break the piston and lock the motor up at the worst and B serious engine damage. The rubber will be deteriorated a lot faster if you're switching back to gasoline of course. I like Century fuel products. Com system theirs is aluminum plate and Brass nozzle it doesn't fall apart and there's is about 3/8 thick there adapter is. I'm pretty sure between the air cleaner and carburetor.

@@jonsmith2217 Great point. I am struggling with a snorkel design from another company that was guaranteed to work on my generator model but does not as sometimes generator designs change but suppliers do not keep up and keep their products current. Bummed out!

It looks like that brass T fitting is 1/4 inch.

You said you feel bad for the people that had to cut their frames. I feel bad for people who are paying north of $150 for these kits, even today in 2016. They still have to drill into their frames to mount that big honking regulator outside the protection of the frame. And most are paying big $$ for the hoses and quick connects. All that for something that is mainly used in emergencies. I'm on a budget with a $199 3.6KW gen. I bought my dual fuel (tri fuel) carb on e bay for $38. Got my "quick connects" from harbor freight for around $4. And I already have hose laying around. The carb installation took about 3 minutes. Preparing the propane tank and quick connect hose was another 5 minutes or so and I was running. And the installation is clean with no regulator bulging off the side of the generator. It looks like the Nigerians are posting videos here on you tube featuring this dual fuel carb to advertise and sell in their country. I should post a video to show what a better installation looks like with quick connect hoses. And running pipe outside to run on NG is a whole different project.

Sounds like a great thing! I seen video's where they drill a hole in the side of the throat and run the tubing into that. As long as you have a way of adjusting L,P. flow your fine! I'd like to see a video of your conversion.

I'm one of those people who paid north of $150 for my tri fuel kit on my Champion inverter generator. Actually I paid about $190 for my kit. But guess what? I'm okay with that. I have watched plenty of CZcams videos from people who have used the US Carb kits and they're all pretty much happy with their results. Sure, I could have pieced something together and possibly made it work, but I didn't. I don't have the patience to piece something together that may or may not work (reliably). My $190 US Carb kit worked right the first time I installed it with zero problems. That makes the higher price tag worth it....
