Another great video. Glad it was another good season for all you guys up there. Really helps when the fish show up in numbers. 20 years ago I would have hit you up for a job. Should have stayed up there when I was there.
Well there were some pretty skinny years in the early 2000's, it was pretty tough to stick it out...not much money to be made that's for sure. It was tough to find crew!

Every single year 9 out of 10 captains you ask will say "the more cotton, more fish.." haha this year we were driving in from the airport red salmon, and everyone in the taxi said "holy smokes it's gonna be a great year"..
@@rustygrizwold3816 right so doesn’t that mean the myth (just for argument sake) was confirmed? “They” also say that when the fireweed goes to seed the season is over…but I hear folks were doing good into August…
I guess I don’t put much stock into those myths…
I just seen the "cotton/fireseed" clip on your video and had to complain. We ended up pulling the boat early. We barely made a broom fishing Johnston Hill line. Anyways cool video man, and way cooler boat! Hope you did well.

Maybe you salmon guys can piggyback on the crab boats request for Federal Funds to get back to what you feel is a fair fishing wage.
I like your thinking but I believe the price is low here due to the volume we have been producing. The crab fleet has been impacted by no crab....at least the Bering sea fleet...I think, but I'm not close to that fishery anymore.
