So not the greatest of news but still fighting on! Times like this you need to take time on yourself and your way of thinking! A positive attitude goes along way!
I have had PPPD for over 2 years now. I would say on a more extreme case, as my dizziness doesn't have episodes, but more of a heavy "wax" and slight "wane" periods. Tried propranolol, alprazolam, sertraline, escitalopram, Effexor XR, Valium, and now trying amitriptyline. I've tried numerous supplements, exercises, behavioral therapy (cognitive therapy), ENT, GP, neurologists, chiropractors, massage therapists, eastern medicine therapies such as acupuncture, hot stone, rolfing, etc. Very little improvement. Derealization only gets helped by a TENS unit strapped to my back on the highest setting to induce pain to gain lucidity. I know there are a lot of people that got better with physical therapy, medications, psychology/behavioral therapy or a combination. I know people that have it for 15+ years. Keep your thoughts on the positive side regardless, especially if you get sick with a cold or flu, etc. as, for me, my ability to cope is diminished greatly. That's when the behavioral therapy really helps. I have to keep in mind that it could be a lot worse.
So sorry to hear that! I really hope you find improvements at some point! I believe the Sertraline helped me enough to get back to work at some degree, it’s still tough but got to soldier through
