- Alec Voikhansky was given a 28-day ban for failing to ride out to the winning post aboard Power Of Twins at Bath.
Voikhansky appeared to think he had the race won aboard Richard Hannon's two-year-old, only to be collared on the line by the late-rallying Lovestruck Romeo under Nicola Currie.

I used to love horse racing but not anymore. You see this kinda crap all too often.. you see them ease down too early, get trapped in on purpose so they have nowhere to go. It’s just crap, save your money and enjoy yourself. Jim Crowley should be an ambassador for these dodgy bastards in racing he is the worst.

@John-ed2wj how can you be right at finishing line then decide to cruise and call it a mistake 😂 common man that doesn't make sense, he knows how to push the horse and decided not too allowing himself to be beat, this happens alot when it comes to fixed racing, no one slows down right at finishing line like he did especially when he knew how to speed up enough to get into such position

I thought that was a bit harsh. Clearly over confident whilst almost on the post. He made the mistake of not looking over is shoulder. Love struck Romeo only won by a snout.. However i have seen some 5 lengths from the finish easing up. I can understand how punters would be seriously annoyed though If they bet on him. Does anyone know is comment after that?
Over-confidence, he didn’t even look around to check for a fast finisher. Deserves the ban.

Hard to disagree. Simple enough to keep his mount up to its work as the winning post arrives. Would you drive a car like that with no obvious interest in anything behind?

😅it's as bent as an Arabian dagger ....they are all in it either directly or indirectly ...100/1 winners ...80/1 winners ...66/1 winners...50/1 winners , almost every single day without criticism from anyone ! All the commentators and everyone connected to racing are making a really nice living out of it thank you very much ,so don't want to upset the money applecart !
Whoever put the box’s on the screen before the end of the race should be banned.

Tom Marquand on my prospero yesterday at Goodwood 3.35 pm rode a shocker , he got it boxed in and lost the races. The favourite had no chance and Tom should be held accountable. Did the bookies bung him to lose I wonder?
Nothing wrong with Marquand's ride at all, you're just bitter you lost and clearly know very little about racing to make such a silly accusation... The horse hadn't run for over ten months and was probably a bit fresh so was ridden in behind for a turn of foot, nothing the jockey can do if the gap doesn't come other than wait, pull out and hope they haven't got away in front... Not everything is a conspiracy.
@@BugleCoops Marquand not getting placed cost me 3 grand in my e/w acca. Was he bunged by the bookies? No of course not but to say that there was nothing wrong with the ride is incorrect. He was boxed in on the rail and allowed the winner to get first run on him- even then it wasn't maximum effort to get 2nd. It wasn't a good ride and we are allowed to call out a jockey when they do this.
@@Chief_Brody Respectfully my friend, he didn't ride the race to lose as was implied and I felt the insinuation of corruption was grossly unfair. I was on it too and the gap one might ordinarily expect to appear simply didn't and there was nothing he could do other than pull to the outside, chances are he would have won if so but even that's not a guarantee as a fresh horse might not have maintained a finish if he'd got the run earlier and in any case, he was being pushed for a good half furlong before eventually picking up and staying on so he might not have been able to quicken through a gap, had one opened, anyway... Maybe he'd ride the race differently in hindsight but I suspect he was probably riding to the trainers instructions - that's racing!!
@BugleCoops you're right, that's racing. I've seen abysmal rides in my 35 years of watching racing and that wasn't one of them. As you say though, if he could have the race again he would've done things differently. If you do want to see a bad ride look at Crowley in the first at Goodwood today. Boxed in in a 5 runner race and got out of jail only because Oisin Murphy left the rail.

I was at Bath in the 1980s and Joe mercer was riding a 1/4on favourite , a 2yo for Pete walwyn he was cantering entering the final furlong and began to ease down unfortunately Ted Rodgers riding a horse called ninnitash for Martin pipe was riding like a lunatic and caught joe on the line , Joe said he was trying to give his horse and easy race and was fined £500

The stewards should also ban the jockeys who don't ride for 2nd or 3rd placing
They ease them down to protect future handicap mark....so these things will happen again.....ah well, will be traveling from Carlisle to Brighton next Tuesday for the 3 day festival👍

Its commentator jinx the jockey. Its been happening alot. They should ban these commentator reasons being the jockey can herd him saying the horses is clear. Thats wy the jockey ease up
Jockeys often listen to the commentary rather than check their positioning. 😂😂 Was just human error, it happens. I say that and I backed him to win.
@@barry8710Not sure about the commentary, although it is possible. However, there was a jockey recently, who said they looked at the big screen in the centre of the course and saw they were clear, but didn't realise the pictures were delayed a couple of seconds.

It’s a British thing. The jockeys are told not to win by too far. This was a mistake rather than a deliberate act. Most upsetting if you backed the second. The punishment seems lenient. 2-3 months would focus the mind.

Ride your best race until the finish line and their can be zero dispute, this is not a mistake this is not trying your best until the finish line, I backed the winner but I thought immediately wow that was no mistake he was blatantly cheating and not trying your very best which is in fact CHEATING hahaha but never mind I’m glad on this occasion
