Here's a little Bonus information about Releases in the United States and Canada and other tidbits.
Yash Raj Films, for the first time ever, held a pre-release screening for film exhibitors on 18 October 2008.[16] It was then released exclusively across local multiplexes on 24 October 2008.[17]
During the weekend of its release, the film faced competition from Heroes, hence it opened to a poor response of 20--25%,[clarification needed][18] which improved two days later to 30--40%.[19] Its first-week gross of Rs. 45 million (US$912,316)[20] made it an Indian record for a Disney production.[21]
In the United States and Canada, the film debuted in as many as 40 theatres on the same day.[22][23] On the first weekend, it made US$41,770 (Rs. 2080,000) and placed 49th.[24] The following week, its gross income came to US$55,202.
For those wondering on why things are happening the way that they do in this scene. Here is the context.
So you can tell that Laila is an idol amongst the dog community. Everyone swoons over her but no one dares approach her. Why? Because Charlie Anna, the bulldog who acts equivalent to a mafia king, wants her. And if you don't want to die you stay away from What Charlie wants.
Right before this scene happens Romeo tries to approach Laila to confess his love for her. Laila shoots him down and doesn't take him seriously because EVERYONE feels that way about her. Instead as a challenge to prove that his love for her is true, she dares him to join her on stage during her performance. But no dog in their right mind would join her on stage not when Charlie is watching. So when he does come on she is pleasantly surprised and Charlie is pissed which makes all the other dogs scatter as they don't want to feel his fury.

This movie deserves more love. Lovable characters, engaging plot, unexpected relationships, and a GREAT moral. Most movies like this would have a person start with nothing and end up with a mansion, but instead Romeo looses everything material and realizes his true paradise lies on the streets with his friends and Laila.

I really like how the dog nightclub is literally a warehouse full of random garbage and Laila comes in on an old tire.
This was an imaginative movie with a soundtrack I can’t easily get out of my head. It’s not perfect, but it’s got a lot of heart.

there are no hindi comments, the actual language of the movie, indians hate this movie. They have thrashed it. it just made 3% of the total earning in india, the people of the country where it is made just outright cancelled it.

a lot of people make fun of this movie but i genuinely love it. the music is awesome, as is expected with a bollywood inspired work! the animation can be a little strange but the characters are fun to watch if you can look past the awkward way they move sometimes

So is the white dog, Laila, the bulldog's like girlfriend or something XD But then the other dog just comes in like YEET!

The bulldog likes Laila, Laila doesn't like him back and tells the other dog (who told her that he loved her too) that to prove his love he has to get onto the stage and dance with her. All of the other dogs like Laila, but they're also all scared of the bulldog (which is why at 1:37 all the dogs in the crowd back up when she walks at the edge of the stage). The other dog loves Laila too much to just be scared like all the others (+he already had agreed to do it before he found out that the bulldog liked her). So when the other dog jumps onto the stage the crowd freaks out and runs away because they know that the bulldog is going to get mad and freak out. It's also why the other dog's friends were trying to hold him back: they were trying to stop him.

I myself am a singer (training) and my boyfriend is a soccer player, one day I was singing to a duo song with a friend of mine as the guy but when the guy was supposed to walk onto the stage and sing with me my boyfriend came instead. I didn’t know he could sing so good, he’s so amazing! So I sang with my boyfriend and after the performance I was happy to tell the audience the original plan, they all aww’ed.
