LOVE YOUR CAR! I was thinking abt a Grand Marquis. You have made my decision for me.IM GLAD I HAVE COME ACROSS YOUR VIDEO!
Was through your neighborhood on Sunday. Like the new introduction
Should have reached out! Thanks for your comments!
@@OldeCarrGuy I'm not on the Facebook and hate to bother anyone on the lords day 🙏
Was hoping for a weekday to catch you at the shop .
See you the next round
Ha... that refresh rate even gets you on headlights! Funny. Nice review!
Thanks!It's always fun!
Fantastic - I definitely want to do this to my cars 💡- I have some pretty old cars too. Thanks for showing how to do this! 👍
Thanks for watching and glad i could have been of some help!
Great Video Brother! Like the new lights and i do think that they work much better then the old bulbs do, as they should! Keep up the great work!
I appreciate you Craig!
@@OldeCarrGuy I appreciate you too Brother! You are a super awesome guy and i value the things that you bring to our community!
Huge difference, the leds look great!! Awesome video as always!
Thanks Corey
I myself have gone to mostly led, I can say they make a difference. I like them there an easy installation with good results
I’m definitely sold on LED!
The new intro looks good. Nice work.
Thanks Timbo!
Just got a set of these for Christmas. Gonna install them tomorrow.
6 million lumens??? Lol. 6000K = 6M. Great video man. :)
haha!!!! Funny Guy!
Definitely brighter then the original holagens
Great video,👍🏻👍🏻 where's Alex by the way?😁🇨🇦
Alex will make an appearance in the next video!
Nice video...Love LED's, we are heavily tied down with red tape here in UK with what we can and can't use so we have to stick with side markers,
orange indicators and fog lights only. To pass vehicle test and be legal the main beams can only be a certain wattage and be duel use, not led... yet.
{Sorry not to have commented last few videos but i was CZcamsD , Had to re-join with new account!!!!... }
No worries my friend, glad you’re back!
@@OldeCarrGuy On a 2006 MGM do I have to remove the whole light assembly to replace the bulb?
No, but it's definitely easier if you do.
I Love The LED Headlights. I run them in my Big Truck and Hate to go back to the Normal Bulbs in the Winter Months. My LED's aren't heated so I put the Standard Bulbs back in!!
I'd give these a try Carl. 10% discount with my promo code and they ship to Canada!
They look great! I was curious to see how different the bulb replacement is on CV / MGM vs Town Car. Interestingly enough on the town cars you remove the entire headlight assembly to get at the bulbs. I recently did an install video last week. Nice channel.... subbed!
Due to the placement of the actual bulb in the GMG, it's a bit of a challenge. If you look at the headlight assembly on each, the CV has the HL bulb offset to the outside of the lens, and right where there is an opening in the header panel. GMG places the bulb ion the center of the lens but uses the same header panel as the CV. A cost savings by Ford, but a bit of a PITA for GMG owners.
@@OldeCarrGuy header panels actually different
Bro I put LED’s in all my cars. You’ll never turn back once you try them!
I have seen the light Bro!!!
5000 to 5500 k are the best for white light and also most visibility
I have the switchback turn signal on mine i like the all white look at night then orange when turning
I like the switchbacks. Must try them out.
Too bad you didn't leave one halogen bulb in to show the difference at night. That said, the difference is astounding! And a nice, easy safety upgrade that virtually anyone can do themselves
Now you tell me! lol
That Ford truck is gorgeous
Nice.
How noisy are the headlight bulbs?
Can you hear the fan running?
I read that was a common complaint from reviewers.
That's kinda why I chose a solid state fanless design for my Merc.
I can’t hear them from inside the car if that’s what you’re referring to. Not even standing outside the car! However when you have the hood open and you bend down with your ear, then yes but hardly! So much so that I did feel it was relevant to even talk about!
Man I love your videos!!!
I love that you love them! Thanks for watching.
Great video jason
Also, for some reason, I can see the refresh rate on almost all LED bulbs, factory or aftermarket… especially in my rear view mirror lol. What’s wrong with me? 😂
6000k has a blue hue depending on manufacture and whether it's a pure 6000k or if the brand is not as accurate as they claim are true 6000k will have a blue hue
looking good!!!
I appreciate that Kip!
Did u place the original back cover back in place or is it of to keep it off after installing?
It actually doesn’t fit into place as the wires are in the way! But that a good thing anyway, you don’t want the LEDs to overheat! They have a built in fan but could get too hot if enclosed! Hope this helps!
Cool. Definitely appreciate it. Keep up the good work on the videos
Thanks buddy
You could have made that a lot easier on your self if u took off the big plastic cover first. You wouldn't have to take the battery out and you will have a lot more room to work. Otherwise they look good.
Thanks Trevor! I appreciate your comments!
Yep take the radiator support plastic cover off and full on easy access ..... Just did mine and didn’t remove anything other then that and had them installed in about 2 mins or less ...... straight forward and simple and the fact that the bulbs are adjustable for their beam pattern makes it super easy to get it right .... One thing that people may want to know is that if your having issues after installing them with turning on your high beams and one going down and one going up , it’s just you have to spin the bulb ( on the one that’s going down for high beam ) 180° from where it is then readjust.....
What size MAF do you have? I see the modded air intake there
Stock MAF in the stock pipe.
Where did you get the tinted headlights and taillights
I made them! czcams.com/video/hzkVoqq9eHo/video.html
The after is better, because it's bright
Definitely!
How did you get the headlights blacked out like that?
I very simple process really.
HOW TO TINT HEADLIGHTS ON A 2004 MERCURY GRAND MARQUIS
czcams.com/video/hzkVoqq9eHo/video.html
were they any brighter for driving? The ones I put in my jeep are bright to look at but actually driving with them they didnt seem any different
Because mine were 6k they were a brighter white colour and therefor brighter while driving! I do still want to have the aftermarket lenses as they will allow even more light through!
Nice 👍 , what is your wheel and tire combo? Specs. Please?
These wheels came off a 2011 Mustang and the tires are 245/45R18! They bolted right on with no mods needed!
Hey man I have an 06 merc I have a few questions
Sure. Hit me up on Instagram or Facebook!
When you installed the lasfit leds headlight bulbs, did you leave the dust cover off?
Yes! The bulbs and wires stick out to far.
@@OldeCarrGuy.... Not using the dust covers, won't that put the LED bulbs fans in an early retirement? I have a set of LED's that I wanted to put in, but the manufacturer said I had to buy an extra set of those black round rings that hold the bulbs in place. They told me, of course AFTER I received them & found out they weren't a true plug & play. WHOOPS! I would have to cut the rings down in height & then cut 1 side to get them to slide over the bulbs to make them work & use tape to hold the covers together. Not happy about finding that out afterwards. But then the stock dust cover wouldn't fit. It was suggested that I buy an after market cover (looks like the band Devo, their hat & somehow get that to cover the bulbs housing. But then the LED's fan wouldn't be as effective. IDK. For now I put in a set of Silvania's Ultrastar's. Those are noticeable improvement over stock, but a far cry from the LED's. So, do you think that you can get away without using the black covers using the LED bulbs? It seems silly to cover them because you'd get heat build up, but then the fans are exposed to whatever elements get to it. IDK. I live South of Chicago & any hint of snow the silly crews are out salting everything. So I want to try to keep the bulbs lasting as long as possible. Thank you. I appreciate you putting all the videos out. They are certainly helpful.
I installed Led bulbs to my grand marquis. But it just turn on the strong light. And no the other one. And it appears the light symbol on my board. What do you suggest me to do?
+felipe chavez what year is your car? I know 2003-05 had a recall from Ford to replace the lighting control module! Yours could have failed!
@@OldeCarrGuy its a 1998. Can a relay could save my problem?
You will most likely need the decoder for your kit as the system is detecting a “ bulb out “ situation because the LEDS are drawing less juice then a normal halogen would , it’s a common problem on these cars especially if you have the higher end models ..... All you have to do is go on your kits website and have them send you a decoder module ( all it is really is a resistor that that fools the computer into thinking that nothing is wrong and shuts off the false error code and light )
its much easier to just remove the black panel over the lights(just pop out a few clips) and then remove the headlights(two metal slide clips on either side, if they dont come out by hand you can just use an extension as a lever and a mallet lol) to work with them directly
If my car had the slide clips, which it doesn't, that certainly would be easier. My headlights are bolted in!
@@OldeCarrGuy lol thatll do it
Please tell me your gonna do A marauder interior swap on this car. That is what I'm gonna do on mine
Kinda! But not the full extent! I'm just doing my own thing!
@@OldeCarrGuy I like it. I'm following everything u do to yours and can't wait to see what's next
What’s going on olde car guy nice lights.I have a question recently my 79 Chrysler lebaron started hesitating on acceleration and shaking off and on I was told it’s running lean the carb was rebuilt should I go with a new carb/.efi system or lean conversion kit thanks man for any advice
Hey Terrance. This is a pretty loaded question. It could be a number of things.... transmission shudder, fuel supply (fuel pump or filter)) tune-up or the lean burn. The reason I say all that is because you mentioned it happens under acceleration. The easy and cheapest place to start is regular tune up stuff like plugs, wires, cap and rotor as well as a fuel filter. If that doesn't help, try cleaning your carb as all this ethanol in the gas can gum things up. if after the tune up and carb cleaning the problem still exhists, then you can start looking at eliminating the lean burn system!
I hope this info helps to steer you in the right direction.
Definitely thanks man
Look at that massive hot air intake!
High flow!!
@@OldeCarrGuy no heat shield?
@@GrandmaKeith it’s fine! Totally fine!
On the 2003....it will be the same way to put them on???....or i gotta take the whole assembly off the car(the housing)
All steps should be the same!😉
You don’t have to remove the housing , you just have to remove the plastic cover unless the MGM is different then the CV .....
How do I make my lights black like yours
VHT spray tint!
Thanks
What about the high beams? Those bulbs are only low beams? please explain
9007 Bulbs are Hi/Low in one bulb! The Grand Marquis had just a single headlight for each side and the Crown Vics had a separate bulb for each! Some vehicle do use a 9007 as a low beam with high beam also!.
@@OldeCarrGuy Thanks a lot! Ill order a set now!!
DAVID SALTOF don’t forget the discount code!
I have a question. I can’t find a video on how to change out the turn signal assembly on my 08 grand marquis. Would you happen to know where I can find a video to show how to replace this?
Hey Luca. I'll be doing a video on this very soon. The headlight has got to come out first to access the fasteners on the inside of the fender!
Olde Carr Auto Guy cool! Thank you!
You have led in the taillights
Not anymore!
you made it hard. just remove the black plastic panel with the four twist to remove push pin "rivet" covering access to all lights.
If one was replacing with regular bulbs, maybe. These LED's are too long and my fingers are too fat!
What's the part number on the ones you installed? I want!!!

Only problem i have with any aftermarket bulbs is you really need to re-aim them so that they don't blind oncoming drivers.. most people don't..
I hear ya there! I rarely get flashed. But some factory cars are built everyday with bright white headlights.
Olde Carr Auto Guy I don't see having that issue when you have front tinted headlight covers, or when you're in a car, it seems to be way worse for me when i drive and i see jeep owners, or kids in SUVs or lifted trucks with a combination of these bulbs and those collapsed sun light bars.. times like those i wish my panther had the spot light.
Dude, why didnt you just take off the plastic cover thats over the radiator and fan instead of removing the whole battery and squeezing your hand in small holes?!?!? Tell me why and I'll subscribe.
Because there is less access from the top for my fat hands. Thanks for the subscribe and the comment!
Somehow, I don't see the value of tinting headlights. It doesn't help the car in any way, other than how it looks to others. If tinting reduces the light coming out of the headlight, why bother? They're headlights!
I want all the light I can get, so I will definitely consider getting these.
Because it looks cool I guess! But you’re absolutely right!
how do opposing vehicles feel about them...im tired of getting blinded by opposing cars myself...cars today look like they are driving with their brights on...that aint cool!
I will admit these headlights are bright, and I to hate to see opposing traffic with headlights that are too bright! I’ve had these in for a while now and to date have no had one opposing driver flash their high beams at me! That gives me an idea for a video! Thanks again for the questions!
Do you have a facebook? I wanna show you my merc....
Yessir! Same name. Love to see it!
Not too hard but man they made this annoying
I agree! very bright when you meet a vehicle coming the other way!
@@OldeCarrGuy too 2 hours just to put leds in my god this was wild
Great video jason
Where do you get the black head light and tail light housings?
Spray tint in a can! 😂
