    Owned a Ruger American Ranch 5.56 which took my AR PMags. I sold it and kept my existing Ruger Scout stainless 308 16” rifle which took AICS magazines. It was a tough choice and now I’m all set up for black bear, whitetail, and other tasks around the property with (what else?) a .308!! Both Bret choices. Thanks your, Ruger Firearms!

    Good review. Thoughtful and purposeful. Very good production, as someone else said. I have many rifles, but have really been wanting a Gen 2 compact. Or two, one in .223 and one in 6.5 Grendel. Subscribed.

    Ok....I'm gonna give you props for doing this video with your hair down. I have long hair as well and couldn't imagine doing content with it down. In fact, I have over 500 videos on my channel and can't recall ever wearing my hair down. The struggle is real....

    Great video! I think Ruger will sell a ton of these rifles. The ability of the 5.56 and 300 Blackout rifles to use AR style magazines, and the 7.62x39 to use Ruger Mini 30 magazines, is going to make them very popular. My only problem with it is how can I convince my wife I should have one when I already have 6 firearms chambered in 5.56 or .223. Guess I'll hafta work on her for a 300 Blackout, I don't have anything chambered for it (yet).

      Hay registros de con un rifle monotiro 22 Lr han eliminado elefantes y osos... muchas veces no es importante la cantidad de armas sino la calidad del tirador. Yo solo tengo un rifle y con eso resuelvo todo.

    We live in a great time to be a gun owner. You can buy an off the shelf sub-6 pound semi-auto rifle chambered in .308 Winchester or 6.5 Creedmoor that will reliably function and shoot right around 1 MOA. Also don’t forget about the 6.5 Grendel and 6mm ARC that can drop the size and weight even further. I’m sorry but your “one rifle” is underpowered, slow to operate, heavy, and unreliable in comparison (yes, please try to run any push feed action quickly and you’ll see what I mean about the reliability). It’s a romantic idea to have a 5.56 bolt action slung over your shoulder and feel well equipped for most eventualities but it’s just that…romance. Reality will kick you in the teeth if you have to shoot a whitetail or a hog past 200 yards or God forbid fight with that thing inside a structure.
    With that said Ruger did make some great improvement in their Gen 2 American Rifle. It’s an amazing value for a push feed action bolt gun and it’s quite attractive a well. I’m also a fan of the Vortex Strike Eagle for its value in an LPVO. Is very hard to beat in is price category. Vortex really knows what they are doing with this optic.
    You honor Lt. Col. Jeff Cooper with your bolt action but don’t forget his words about the 5.56x45mm. They still hold true. He was an innovator in his time. Do you think if he were alive that he would choose a bolt action rifle over all the other available choices?

      100% Agree, the video was just a philosophical concept. Hence by the end of the video, the final answer is "probably not". I do appreciate your comment though and thanks for watching the video and discussing!

    He nevers says the caliber... he implies it can do anything an AR can do... implying it might be a 5.56/.223 chambering

    No such thing as the only rifle you need you have got to have an ar15 or ak or something that is semi auto that holds 20 plus rounds to be able to truly defend yourself against police or soldiers or what ever tyrants try to take your freedoms

    That barrel iso short. It looks like a pistol

  • @pasqualinoiannelli4275

    No on so many levels. First of all, Ruger is overpriced because of the name. I have more respect for and can get more use out of the Remington 700 or the Savage 110 series. Second, a 223 is way too small of caliber to serve as an all purpose rifle. 300 Blackout or 7.62x39, MAYBE. IDEALLY, 308. Common enough caliber, affordable enough to buy OR reload, AND hits hard enough to put real sized food on the table. Last for now, a Strike Eagle for you ONLY rifle? Spend a buck. Stop buying Chinese crap and get a Viper, Razor, or even a Primary Arms GLx 1-10. Buy once, cry once. Do better.

    • @SUPERIOROUTFITTERSTX
      @SUPERIOROUTFITTERSTX  Před dnem +1

      It’s available in multiple calibers, also those are things that we mentioned.
      And the determination was no, this shouldn’t be your only rifle, if you made it to the end.
