- Madison Scout's hornline playing this memorable corps song at Allentown 2019 The first time hearing them play this, I was just up the street at Muhlenberg College in 1979 Their hornline was practicing this over and over again for a recording that was going to be done at The 1979 DCI Championship later that week. The power and the emotion that the Madison Scouts hornline produced that night was unforgettable. Now 40 years later, I still get chills, hearing you play this. Thank You Madison Scouts ! MYNWA

As good as it gets!
my high school plays this after every event, seniors in the middle. love it.
It's a great moving song. It's no surprise so many play this. Thank You for watching !
2000 sop here. Still brings a tear to my eyes when I hear this played. MYNWA
The Russian show was really good. Very different show for Madison.
My best performance conducting the corps song. Thank you for this. -Daniel Modl ‘18-‘21
You are welcome, I'm glad you liked this video. What a great performance from your Madison Scouts that night. Thank You for leaving a comment.
Only the God of the human spirit can this wonderful thing called sound come from. This are Gods in my mind allowing us to present the power of love through the instruments we hear and see.
I graduated from Western Illinois University back in 2012. Marched all four years and this was our ending song after everything. I always tear up listening to it. MYNWA
Best corps song in DCI
Hmmm I might agree, send in the clowns is definitely up there too
@@lokineverfolds I'd argue that Elsa's Procession also belongs on the list somewhere
@@lokineverfolds autumn leaves too
Georgia On My Mind is the most iconic corps song imo, at least for a lot of older fans who had their faces blown off by it during Spirit's heyday in the 80's
Battle Hymn Chorale is very good too. As long as the corps song makes you feel the most gut wrenching love for the activity and the corps itself, it’s perfect
This took my breath away. As a former French Horn player and lover of this song, I was shocked that I hadn’t seen this recording before. It’s a big, beautiful, blow-your-face-off brass video that I can’t stop watching. THANK YOU.
You're welcome Amy .😊 Madison Scouts have done such a great job performing this thru the years and this year was no different. I'm so glad this video moved you !. Drum Corps hornlines have a way of doing that to there fans. Taken their breaths away Take Care Thank You for your comment
This hits different, especially in person
Agreed, That's why I love standing in front these hornlines. Thank You for watching !
Beautiful conducting, Daniel! :-)
their scores may not reflect it, but this group is headed in a really positive direction
make sure to watch our show on FB on the 24th, we're getting better every day
I was in that line in '79. Thanks for posting this.
No problem Ray much respect for the way your 1979 Madison Scouts played this. My ears are still ringing ! 😊
Impressive that the drumline would stop, only to let Madison's hornline finish their corps song. It shows respect.
Hey thanks for uploading this! I was a tuba player in this line and this was one of our best performances of never walk all season.. However before this we played the worst performance of slaughter conducted by an old guy who never once conducted it with us before. Do you happen to have that?
@@chasewilber9325 You're welcome, and yes I do have the recording of that. Not sure why you would want to hear or see that. That being said, all corps even the best have moments like that. As to posting it or sending it, I wouldn't think it's a great Idea. I do have a really good clip of your Madison Scouts show hit. I will post that later. Thank you for your comment. Enjoy your summer off.. Turns out a friend on youtube posted Slaughter just today czcams.com/video/r9ZDmbE797A/video.html
@@chasewilber9325 The person that conducted the intro to Slaughter on fifth avenue, wasn't he a previous horn instructor from the seventies. He reminded me of Madison's brass instructor that sat in and critiqued the horn line I was in "Rockland Defenders".. He gave us some great advice and stories to build on. While staying in the same town of Golden Colorado for the DCI Championship in 1978. I really enjoyed the 2019 Madison's show MYNWA performance at Allentown was awesome and special for me. Thank You for watching ! PS Gary Livingston answering you, is me. I just couldn't get to my computer so I just answer you with my phone. Best of luck next year !
@@dcibrass thanks for the link to my video! :)
I didnt knew that was a bad rendition of something. It sounded really loud to me so I started recording asside a generator on my way to the front of the corps :D
@@dompling no problem. It wasn't bad cause the sound was there it was just off since the guy directing it never had with THis hornline.
Madison is such a great corps. Love listening to them!
Truly amazing, you can hear their hearts and souls coming through the horns. True emotion in music
Thank you so much so posting this 💗my father was snare in the great 75 🙌🏆 and raised me to love dci. He passed on the 23rd and I'm trying to introduce dci to my children now. This has always been my favorite and this is just beautiful.
Thank you again from my family 😁🥰
Andrea, I'm so sorry for your loss, losing a parent at any age is tough. It's nice to read your story about how your dad introduced you to drum corps and you passing it on to your kids.. The Madison Scouts played their corps song with a lot more emotion, and it came thru loud and clear. The first performance of Madison Scouts that I had seen in person was the night they won the DCI Championship. I was fan from the first note they played that night. As for recording Madison playing this song. It's was my pleasure and I'm so happy you enjoy watching it. Andrea, take care Thank You for watching.
After seeing them live this past season I wasn't super impressed with their brass line but I had never heard their corps song until now. This brought me to tears. Absolutely phenomenal
They did such a great job with this song. I'm glad I was there. Thank You for watching !
You'll Never Walk Alone Men of Madison, farewell and thank u for the amazing moments yall gave us I hope to see them back in the finals in the future, they are a talented and hardworking group they are headed in a positive direction
fantastic ,Great
Thought I would watch this again since Marsden died today. One of my favorite versions!
Thanks Steve for checking this video out. I think this one, meant more to the average fan knowing that Madison was changing the make up of their corps
Beautiful ❤️
Along with all our pets waiting for us over the rainbow bridge, there better be Drum Corps!!! Otherwise, I'll know I wound up in the other place!
RIP Gerry Marsden
Awesome to Madison Scouts from a phantom Regiment Alum.
I forgot he did this song.
@@dcibrass Yes. Once in awhile I google songs of the original artist of Corps shows from the 70's and 80s. This song I discovered once before is very nice.
beautiful
Thank you for posting this.
No problem, how could I not record them in that setting. Thanks for watching dcibrass !
dcibrass marched snare in 18.
This song hits hard. ⚜️
My one regret in Drum Corps -- I never tried out for the Scouts
My one regret in life - never trying out for any corps. Wanted to March Madison so badly. Just wasn’t in the cards for me at that point in my life 🥺
Farewell Men of Madison.

He did get it back to finish his solo. Nice recovery
