  • Oaxaca is a culturally rich region in Mexico. We saw El Tule, one of the oldest and thickest trees in the world. It is about 2000 years old. The archaeological site of Mitla bears witness to pre-Columbian civilizations. Another highlight is Hierve el Agua, a natural limestone formation that looks like frozen waterfalls. Oaxaca is also known for the production of mezcal, a traditional distillate made from agave, which is deeply rooted in the region.
On our journey through to Mexico City, we made a short stopover in Puebla, where we briefly immersed ourselves in the cultural life with its impressive cathedral and a very old library, including a free little concert.
