Also the effect of Zarc trigger only out of the draw phase. And the spell was activated in the draw phase so yeah its fine.

I do wish that the anime would do anthology series like these. It would be interesting to see how the original cast would adapt to Link Summoning, let alone Synchro or Xyz.
This is actually kinda already a thing with the character duel that happen at certain events they get the voice actors to do a scripted duel and alot of the time the decks have newer support cards
actally bonds beyond time is canon, so atem and yugi are aware of synchro summoning.

The duel was honestly fine except for last turn where yugi top decked the exact 7 cards he needed. Using the turtle, breaker and MST are believable ways to handle Zarc and don't feel forced.
If Atem did just use Soul Crossing to get rid of Zarc it would make much more sense.
Also Zarc is quite bad for these kinds of duels since he has so few cards that his opening hand is basically fixed.
Soul Crossing was not created at the time Atem VS Z-Arc was originally posted.

Atem has boosted luck so it makes perfect since he gets the 7 cards he needs, this is the same universe that Joey is top 4 duelist in DM with a luck base deck
Yugi getting the exact cards he needs literally happens all the time, Atem literally has fate manipulation on his cards, it would be less believable if he bricked.
Sounds like you just wanted, OC using Yugi’s deck vs Zarc.

It's their deck not just Yugi's secondly Atem doesn't always get the cards he needs he lost to Pegasus R1, Lost to Raphael, Yugi and on this channel to Judai, getting the cards you need doesn't always guarantee you the win and it's known in yugioh that most duelist in the anime has powers

If I'm reading how Supreme King Dance(Supreme Face-Off) works correctly (Once per turn, if a "Supreme King" monster you control battles, during damage calculation, or when a card or effect is activated that would destroy a "Supreme King" card(s) you control: That "Supreme King" card(s) cannot be destroyed by that battle or effect.)
that should have protected the Supreme King dragons from destruction from Underworld - Heaven Circle
Meaning odd-eyes would have protected the cyclone play.(Or Yugi would have played Cyclone on Dance causing it to protect itself and not the dragons, thus leaving it in a stalemate as Zarc can't beat over Paladin, and Zero/Infinity would still be up)
That being said, that only stops 1 ending, leaving this duel at a "Either Player could win"

Zarc Kinda cheating with Supreme King Wrath right there, that card can be used only when your LP decrease by 2000 or higher

Wait a moment. Yugi's Card of sanctity should be useless because of Zarc's effect. Therefore Yugi must loose, at least in the first variation of the duel.
Because Magic Textbook and Card of Sanctity was activated during the draw phase, Zarc’s effect only destroys cards that were added to your hand outside the draw phase.

One character vs Zarc is always a recipe for bad plays. I always thought 4 protags vs Zarc was a fair set up. I hate how much later characters must lose to older ones because shenanigans
@@sharkshread Apparently, anime Z-ARC can't attack the turn it blows up the field with it's on summon effect.
@@KonataFrikiGamerXD You are right. I’ve looked up some anime effects that were used, and I can confirm that the duel is clean. However, there is still some really bad misplays over on Zarc side, such as not sending odd eyes to extra deck to summon two darkwurms so then he could fuse during yugi’s turn. I can’t find any more incorrect plays, but the order in which Zarc used effects, on which turn, and the use of real world card effects only when beneficial just makes this fuel seem hard written for Yugi to win, which is probably what would happen irl anyway. My only problem with the duel now is Yugi getting magicians navigation despite never playing it. If your doing that, just give him eternal soul and magicians circle.
@@sharkshread Returning odd-eyes wouldn't have worked either, Starving Venom was in the grave and it can only summon itself from the extra deck.
You forget that Z-ARC is immune to card effects, so Thousand Knives wouldn’t work.
Why didn't Zarc use the effect that allows him to gain life, even if he couldn't attack those turns, he could still use that effect. Besides, the dimensional dragons were summoned but they weren't used at all. The truth is that the duel feels very unnatural to make yugi win.
the anime versions of Infinity is different. The Damage you make 0 by the effect of Gate Zero gets turned into LP gain.

This was made almost 6 years ago, when I was more willing to use IRL effects if it meant I could do cool things. There is quite a bit I would do differently now

None of the anime Supreme King Dragons had the conditions for their effects triggered, since all of them only trigger by attacks or monster effect activations and since Atem only had Dark Magician on field none of them could use their effects. They were basically sitting ducks waiting for the field wipe.

Quick-play spells can be activated during the draw phase, and Zarc's effect can't stop that

He activate that Quick-Play Spell allow him to discard all card on his hand to Draw 1, and if that's a Spell he can activate that immediately (like a Quick Play Spell) and yeh, he drew the most powerful card of all time (before errata)

Zarc's effect to destroy all of the opponent's monsters on summon prevents it from attacking that turn.

I honestly think that ARC-V stole GX's Season three's plot. Where Yubel wanted to fuse 12 demission together rather than only 4. In all honesty, it's the reason why I don't like ARC-V because of that. No hate to those who do enjoy it though.

Spell Textbook is a quick-play spell, and can therefore be activated during the draw phase. Zarc can't do anything to stop that.
The only feasible way I see Yugi winning is with either the Egyptian gods or EXODIA OBLITERATE

Actually i'm wrong, it was activated in Draw Phase so it's legal. Even though i'm not super sure you get priority at some point during your draw phase.
But yes if Zarc's effect affected draws except normal draws, yugi was cooked

Atem shouldn’t have been able to activate the effect of Dark Paladin because Zarc had two ways to stop its effects from activating he could have Used Supreme King Dragon Starving Venom and Supreme King Dragon Zarc shutdown all the effects of all his opponents Fusion, Synchro and XYZ monsters.
its Pendulum effect from Zarc, not the monster effect.
I don't see the starving venom description that can negate the opponent effect
Anime Z-arc has no way to negate effects, only offers protection. Anime Starving Venom was in the graveyard and only negates effects on Zarc's turn, even if it was still on the field.
@@KonataFrikiGamerXD . In the Anime Zarc has both Starving Venom Fusion Dragon and Supreme King Dragon Starving Venom and Supreme King Dragon Starving Venom’s negation effect is a quick effect.
@@BrandonPettitt-bw1mj Checking their anime effects, regular Starving Venom's negation is a quick effect but it was banished to summon Z-ARC.
Anime Supreme King Starving Venom only says "once per turn, during your main or battle phase," real life Supreme King Starving Venom is in fact a quick effect but the anime one isn't if what's written is to be believed.

@@raphaelwilkes97 I'd probably say Slifer is the only one incapable of dealing with Zarc effectively. However, Obelisk and especially Ra is impossible to deal with it. They literally cannot be effected by anything aside from DIVINE type monsters, you'd have to outpower them attack wise to defeat them.
The only thing carrying Zarc against a full powered Atem is his supreme gate infinity. If Atem bypasses that somehow (destroying it with MST or dust tornado), Zarc's pretty much screwed. But you might be right though, I'm sure Zarc has cards that can protect his spell/traps.

@@raphaelwilkes97 Yugi formulated an entire strategy to get rid of god cards. He needed very specific cards and a whole combo that Zarc has shown he does not have. He used a strategy that basically deflected a DIVINE type monster's own effect onto other DIVINE monsters. There's no way the god cards can be affected by monsters and that's exactly what zarcs cards are; monsters. Even Kaiba, one of the smartest characters in Yu-Gi-Oh! history couldn't do it and he was astonished that little Yugi figured out how to counter it.
And I don't really think it would be too late for yugi to deal with Zarc's pendulum zones. He has many cards that can help stall/stop attacks from continuing. Yeah Zarc, wouldn't be affected but the supreme king dragons will be.
Yu-Gi-Oh! is one of the hardest series to really debate when it comes to comparing duelists because everything is all random with cards and combos. Atems deck in reality would get erased easily, but the god cards are still to-date the most broken anime cards to ever exist and I really don't see any future cards besting it.
Z-arc could have just...you know...used his effect to destroy the cards drawn by card of sanctity
Nope, because the card Yugi played to draw Card of Sanctity was activated during the Draw Phase, and it's effect immediately activated Card of Sanctity, while still in the Draw Phase. Since Zarc's effect only destroys cards added to the hand OUTSIDE of the Draw Phase, well... Yeah, Zarc couldn't stop it.

Yugi May be a skilled duelist but if he used his deck against any protagonist after him he is loosing he could only put up a fight against Jaden because he stands no chance against Yusei and his op synchro monsters and then Yuma who has mostly all number monster plus all of his Utopia’s and then Yuya who can has access Pendulum, Fusion, XYZ, and Synchro Summons with all four dimension dragons and then Playmaker who is just way more skilled than Yugi imo
I see Yuma beating Yugi, but any other duel between protagonists could go either way but I see Yugi winning 100% of the time against Yuya.
