- Hey everyone and welcome to The Classic Granny Square Sweater/Granny Tee! This top is made up from 2 granny squares. It is a nice fitting top with no ease around the bust. If you would like a more oversized top then it is super simple, you just need to go up one size and that will give you 10cm positive ease around the bust. This pattern is made to measure so you can use any ply of yarn and hook. I look forward to seeing everyone’s version of The Classic Granny Square Sweater/Granny Tee.
The sweater was made from Paintbox Chunky from Lovecrafts. There is a link in the video if using a computer or in the description if using a mobile.
The colours I used were...
333 - Marine Blue
325 - spearmint green
342 - tea rose
347 - pansy purple
350 - bubblegum pink
321 - daffodil yellow
354 - peach orange

This is seriously how I wish all crochet tutorials were done. Clear and concise instructions. I will tag you on IG when I am finished.
Thats amazing feedback! Thank you 🥰
Where do I get the measurements page please?
YOU ARE AN ABSOLUTE AMAZING TEACHER ❤❤❤
@@novafalcosmith aww thank you 🥰
Took 3 days but finally finished, one of the best tutorials I've found yet! I'm new to crocheting and this was my first jumper 😍
Well done and thank you for your amazing feedback ❤️
This is by far the best crochet tutorial I have ever watched. I can crochet all stitches but have great difficulty in following patterns. As I watched you start & progress through all stages I got so excited as I’m definitely making this jumper my next project. You are indeed a great teacher as you showed everything you did with just enough explanation that made it very clear what to do. Thank you so much for showing how to make this jumper. Just loved it! Cheers from Western Australia 😊❤️🥰😍💕😘👏
Ah amazing! I'm so pleased that you enjoyed the tutorial 😀
I made two large granny squares but had no clue how to make a jumper out of them. Your tutorial was a life saver. 😍
I'm pleased to have helped! 🥰❤️

Thank you for your pattern, I did the tea, with bit more of a slash neck, in cotton in blues, navy, grey n white, in med. For the bottom I wanted it open both sides for a little flap and just single crocheted all way round. Fabulous. Kim xx

Finally....
I've been waiting for this 🥰❤️
Yay!! Have fun! 🥰
This was actually really helpful I made a front panel and a back panel and I got stuck. Thank you for sharing the way you did the collar! I will make mine a bit wider just so I can add a ribbed collar at the end but otherwise, SUPER HELPFUL!
You're welcome! I'm glad to be of help!
I love how you arranged the colors. Very nice!, No dont change how you speak! I love the word Jumper! It sounds so much cuter & snugglier than a sweater! I even find myself saying it now and then!,
Ahh amazing! Thank you! Well I have since found out that they call them jumpers in Australia too! I thought UK was the only one 😆
@@CraftandaCuppa I didn’t realize you read this already. I deleted the other remark cause I reread it and it sounded snarky (snotty). I didn’t want to sound like that because you’re having so much fun and I’m enjoying your video even though I know how to make grannies. If you read it, I apologize. I should proofread my comments before sending them on their way.
Thank you for this I’ve three projects to
Do then this is next for me
Thats great! You're very welcome!
Can I just say you give great tutorials, and you are also Hilarious! I'm working on your Hexi Cardigain but watched this video cause you are so hilarious I just had to keep watching your videos while I crochet!
I highly recommend your videos
Ha ha amazing! I'm glad that you are enjoying them! 😆
I have been waiting so long!!! I’m so excited to start
Yay!! Sorry about the wait. I dont have enough hours in the day, but that will change come September as my youngest starts school! 😆🥰
@@CraftandaCuppa oh thats okay! Sorry for me over exaggerating 😅 i was just very excited
@@JenneticCrafts ha ha no I definitely didn't take it that way! 😆 but I do know it takes me am age to get things out in pattern form as I don't have enough hours in the day to have a good crack at it! But that will change come September!! 🥰😆
Precioso suéter, saludos desde Tenerife, España ❤
New subscriber here! I love that this works from my own measurements. ❤
Thank you so much!! 🥰
This is awesome!! Thanks a lot!😊❤
You are very welcome!
It actually does work faster. That’s the same method people started using in factories in the late 19th-20th century. That’s why mass produced items tend to be cheaper. I wanted to say I love the sweater with the fancy trim! Sorry, I didn’t realize I wrote an encyclopedia in your comments.
Thank you❤️😍
Lovely❤❤
Thank you!
holaaa muy vello sueter .Gracias Díos té bendiga siempre .besosss desde Córdoba capital Argentina😘😘😘😘😘
Thank you 😊
beautiful i like it❤ i love handmade crochet work 😍🥰❤️
Thank you! ♥️
The tiny swatch you made for demo of the plus size jumper. Instead of frogging it all you could finish it off and put it onto a teddy bear
Yes that's a good idea 🥰
Sorry I know I have asked this before, but have a granddaughter birthday coming up and would so love to do this, or even the new pattern due out. Thank you once again.
Sorry if you have been waiting for the kids version! I have so much on my list but not enough time to do it all 😆 I know this isn't helpful right now, but my youngest starts school in September and I will have sooooo much more time to concentrate on creating more content. I do take note when people ask as I really appreciate your support. I just wish I had more time to fulfill it 🥰
Hi Kelly, I love watching your tutorials so easy to understand. And a very good teacher.I was wondering if you had a tutorial for a granny square jacket for a teen boy. Thanks.
Thanks so much! I'm afraid I don't have a granny square jacket only the hexagon cardigan tutorial 🥰
FAB FAB FAB 😍😍😍
Aww thank you 😊
Thanks for the video, I always call that stitch a treble in the uk
You're welcome. Yes I learned in American terms and for a while I wasn't even aware UK had their own 😆
I'm here from WE LOVE CROCHET! Hey, love! Can't wait to try this and thank you so much for sharing

@@patsweety hi!!! 👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻
@@CraftandaCuppa so sweet of u to respond ♥️. Will definitely try the granny sweater, it wil be my first time doing a wearable. I have only done a few doilies and a tiny easy baby dress, self taught crocheter

Hi I love all of your tutorials they are very detailed would you be able to make oversized granny crochet pants?
@@glamourvay3880 aww thank you! Ooh I will have to have a think about that. Thank you for the suggestion 😊
I love your tutorial you are the best can you show how do we decrease the arm a little bit to grannies together thank you in advance
Thank you so much!
Hola muy hermoso sueter .besosss desde Córdoba capital Argentina😗😗😗😗😗
Thank you 😊
Absolutely love this video, love your energy. Thank you for sharing. Just a quick question -- love the jumper (sweater) you’re wearing do you have a tutorial on that??? Love puff sleeves 😂
Thank you. I've had a lot of requests for that one. Is was one that I fresstyled for myself back in January without any maths or measurements! I should probably have a look at it again and see if I can make it work in different sizes as it's very popular!
👍Thanks❤️
Oh wow! Thank you so much 🥰❤️
Bom dia. Lindo trabalho. Amei
Tem como colocar legendas ???
I absolutly adore this sweater/jumper 😉. Im so excited to make one 😁😁😁😁.
I was wondering if you had a tutorial for the sweaters you have been wearing while filming this tutorial? They look so cute
Thank you! I cant even remember which ones I was wearing. I think a few made an appearance 🤣🤣🤣
I'm in Australia and we use jumper too.
Ahh that's good! 😊😍
I'm working this in all black, and this tutorial should be the standard for how crochet tutorials are done. This has been so easy so far, and it's coming out beautifully. I can't wait to show you.
Also, I wanted to add - THANK YOU SO MUCH for making this up to a 5X. There's nothing more frustrating than falling in love with a pattern and then looking at the pattern only for it to go to MAYBE a 2X. I can usually figure it out, but it's less fun.
Thank you so much! I'm glad that you are enjoying the tutorial 😊
Great tutorial, easy to follow but a little fast. I need to stop & start which is distracting.
Also I have trouble at the corners when I join the first stitch with a slip stitch. I just can't get the hook through the 3rd chain. Any tips?... Thanks... 😉
I usually twist it towards me and go down through the top of the Ch3 🙂
Thank….You
How would you suggest downsizing this to child size. Thank you.loving all your pattern tutorials.
A kids version is on my to do list! I wouldn't be able to explain on here as I would have to do all the maths for the kids sizes and their would be alot of areas to cover 🙂
Hallöchen! Wollte mal fragen welche grösse der Pulli hat , da ich ihn so gerne nachmachen möchte finde ihre Arbeiten wunderschön. LG
Hi,did u say what hook size it was,i didnt see that, but many thanks Tracy.
Hi I think I went crazy and used a 10mm with chunky and a 6mm for my tee version, but you can use any size hook for your yarn that you wish!
Curious. Could I use a smaller hook and yarn? Guessing as long as it hits measurements, yes?
Yep! You can grab whatever is in your stash and go! Any yarn, any hook! ❤️
I have got some Aran yarn in my stash, can I use it to make the Tee.
Yes absolutely 👍🏼
If i wanted to make this exact sweater how many skeins of each color would i need?
I'm sorry I can't give you an answer for each colour but I do have yarn yardage ests in thr written description of the video ❤️
Is there a pattern for a hexagon cardigan with a granny square back please?
Hi do you have a granny square cardigan video please
Thank you for your time
Hi no I currently do not have a granny square cardigan, only the granny hexagon cardi 🙂
Hey, I’m hoping to make one of these soon but was wondering how many balls of yarn I’ll need roughly? I’ll be using a chunky yarn (100g balls) and it’ll be a small size jumper. I don’t understand the yardage thing. Thank you 😊
Hi does it say on your yarn label how many yds are in 100g? 😊
@@CraftandaCuppa hi, it says there’s 155 metres in a 100g x
@@Lottiwillan ok so a size small in chunky yarn is roughly 850m I also used a 10mm hook with nine so if you use a different hook it will alter the yardage. So it's working about 6 skeins of your yarn ❤️
Thank you, really appreciate it! ☺️
I just found you and have one question. I noticed when you made the basic granny square you chained 2 between the clusters but when you did the add on for the shoulder and back panel on the neck you didn’t. Is that correct or not.
Hi I only place a ch2 in each corner. There are no chains between the 3dc when working along the edge. I hope that makes sense 🙂
💞💖💞
Thank you 😊
Hi I’m new to crochet but like what I see where can I find your size chart please . Thank you.
Hi if you are using your phone, then you need to click the title of my video and then click "more" and it will bring up the written description of the video and the measurements you will need for each size ❤️
Thank you so much. Looking forward to starting this . Hope it turns out well.
Do you line your tops with fabric? Or just leave it unlined?
No I leave them unlined. In the winter I pair with a long sleeved top and in the warmer weather just a little vest! ❤️
If your square is flaring out, it might be because your chain is too tight. I often have to go up a size for my chain cause my chains are too tight.
Hi I have tried to find the sizes by clicking on the upside-down V, but it just closes the video down
@@elizawhite2232 yes they've changed it now which is annoying 😆 here is some new info....
Are you using your phone? If so you need to click the title of my video and then "more" and it will bring up everything you need to know to make this pattern 🥰
Can you just tell me what is the benefit of a 10mm hook with chunky which states 6mm please ?
It was just personal preference 🙂
Oh please please would it be possible to downsize these patterns to toddlers / child.🙏
Well I'm now working on the kids version of the cardi so I probably should do the others as well! 😆😍
@@CraftandaCuppa thank you so much. So appreciate the time and creativity that goes into your wonderful tutorials. 💐💐
@@nannyval49 thank you 😊
Sorry can’t get it to tell me about a size large? Can you help me please
Hi if you are using your mobile, then clicked on the video's title and it will bring up the beginning of the written description. Then click Read More or something similar and it will bring up all of the measurements that you need to make this garment ❤️
Is thete a written pattern please? Thank you
Yes there is, if you go onto my channel, there will be a section to the right that says "About" Click on that and you can find the link to my blog which has the written version 😊
