I think he missed the most important from fan perspective. It is hard to score. This means the best team doesn't always win. When you go to see your team play the champions, there is always the chance you could win. This isn't the case in sports with lots of points-the best almost always wins.
The ease of scoring doesn't matter nearly as much as the iteration of the contest. It is allowing more games that allow better teams to come out on top, not how a team performs in an individual game. It is why basketball has one of least upset prone leagues and the most upset prone league. The NBA has a best of four format for its championship tournament, which means the best team almost always wins. NCAA basketball has a 68 team single elimination tournament that is famous for almost always preventing the best team from winning.

I admit I am not very familiar with basketball except there are scores like 72-54. In basketball is it possible for a lower league team to beat a top league team in an individual game? In football there are tactics available to weaker teams to avoid defeat and snatch a win.
@@gartner101 There's no formal league tier in basketball. NCAA (College) Basketball has informal tiers with conferences held in different regards, but they all share the same league. dkguy 05 the problem people have with Americans is that they think that their way of life is better than in other countries. Although you weren’t trying to, you proved this point. Saying that you have baseball, basketball and American football implies that your sports are the best in the world, compared to football, which is a worldwide sport. Football doesn’t have any boundaries - race, country, class. That’s the beauty of it
My reasons: 1 - Easy to play 2 - Can be watched easily without ad interruption 3 - Requirements are very low 4 - Goals are rare and exciting, and not continuos like the other sports. 5 - Upsets can occur and the best team doesn't always win, packing excitement and mixed emotions. 6 - Variety
Basketball is not as accessible in poor countries. You need a hoop and the correct height. Football you just need a field and two goal posts with anything
nice, its a great explanation we can play football anywhere, in the alley, class room, living room in your house, backyard, and more places. And we excited for that when we just kick a ball to imaginary postpone
You forget that football have rare blow-out games driven by its difficulty to score, that also contributes to build up the tension of a goal. Also playing with your feet requires the highest level of skill and when its well made is naturally beautiful.
It's a simple game, but technically very difficult. In contrast to other sports the ball is always loose and it's difficult to control it with your feet (holding (rugby) or passing (tennis) the ball with your hands is much easier). At the same time you can kick a ball way faster than you can throw it so it actually is the best way to pass it.
I mean everyone is passionate about what they grow up with, wherever they are from, whatever the sport is. I love American Football, but that's what I was raised with lol. All sports are beautiful!
I remember when me and my friends broke a window at school, we were playing football in class while the teacher wasn't there lol it's the most accessible sport in the world, you can play it anywhere. Greetings from brazil 💙

He forgot something important. Wondering if your team will score or not, you have really bad games sometimes, and makes you appreciate when you see a goal, the crowd just go nuts and explodes. It is not the same as watching a basketball game or NFL game, where you know you will see some scores. Football or soccer does not guarantee you to have a good time (15% of the time). which makes the game even more addictive to a lot of people. Just look at the crowd in soccer celebrating, you won't see that in any other sport. For real.
great video small quibbles for you. passing in gridiron has an extensive list of throw words just like your football list. types of runs and catches have similarly unending descriptions too
Football is just way competitive Than any sport , it drives fans crazy And the passion is on another level No sport can come close to the passion of football, Its just better in everyway,
It's simply because football is for everyone and is more fun than the other sports you mentioned, since all the matches can be played with different game styles. In addition, soccer brings together many physical and mental exercises, such as speed, jumping, aim, strength, intelligence, endurance and reflexes. Therefore, soccer is more difficult to master and practice than other sports, that is why South American athletes are more competitive than those from other continents.
Grace Hughes your still the dump one 8x8 is something that you would learn from school plus thats easy cake for child who is at the age of 6 years old these guys can speak 3 or more languages also their kids are very smart as well for them to go into a new league they sometimes have to learn a new language overnight for interviews and press conferences that's. not easy
In soccer, the best player does not always win, for example, if we play Brazil against the United States, Brazil will attack a lot, and the United States, as it is known that Brazilians are good at dribbling and attacking, and nobody can stop them If left alone, the Americans must defend their goal only, defend themselves and not let them pass, and when the Brazilians are in their field, the Americans can quickly attack at the last minute and destroy them, it all depends on the technique they play and the player skills. rival, for example, it is known that the English have great speed and shoot from a distance at the goal, the Germans also, but the Latin teams are more dribbling and they approach the area to shoot or pass many passes or always have a player plays defining star
i have another theory, football is just simply the best sport it has everything and is for everyone the only other sport that can compete in many ways with football is basketball, but you almost exclusively have to be a giant human to play it so you cant really relate with the people playing it football on the other hands has all kinds of people playing it and they can all achieve greatness with their own style take for example 2 very different players who are almost similar in status, but completely different in body type and athleticism... Andres Iniesta and Cristiano Ronaldo, one of them is a superhuman machine of a person and the other one is not so different from your average accountant and yet he is one of the greatest players of all time there is no other sport than football that can give you so many things and be completely accessible for everyone who is capable at football, regardless of your physical characteristics or your background, 5'2 or 6'8...poor or rich, it doesnt matter...

@NO CRINGE I know cricket has variations but only the T20 and Odi formats have emotions. The real form of cricket is just slow and boring with absolutely no creativity and just playing the same shot on every ball 😂 It is really a test... Of patience. Decent to play but boring to watch.
@NO CRINGE you'll be the only person to say that. If you think football is not action packed then I don't know what to say. Only the run chases in cricket actually make it interesting and that happens only in odi and T20. Those forms were created only because the original cricket was boring and did not appeal to the people. I was a huge cricket fan (still am) before I started watching football. Two similar goals in football are the rarest to find whereas in cricket you see the same shot played right after the other. I dont know how you call football repetitive.

I agree Football they allow people of all physicality to have success. For example Muller who isn't know for speed or dribbling is a Bayern legend due to his ability to judge space. Messi would never enter most American sports due to his small height and body, but he can be a GOAT in football because its a sport where there are physical limitations. Even Garrincha who had a physical disability on his feet is a legend due to his technique and dribbling skills. Most American Football players have to be 6 ft or more, weigh 200+, and needs to be strong and explosive. Basketball almost everyone is freakishly tall and super explosive.
the offside is the most confuaing part of football. a beginner wont be able to understand offside even of you explained it to him 100 times because it doesnt make sense.
I would include another reason: Because of its scoring system, football is a sport where the weaker team has a real chance of not losing -- so you can always expect to do well, even when unlikely. This is much more complex in basketball, volleyball, handball, tennis and all these high score sports.
It is fairly simple game but can be so beautiful at times. The most important thing about is that you can win or lose a game in one possession. One mistake could lose you the game. That's something not relatable to most sports.

Exactly and in most of the world American football is considered as stupid sports and just like those Americans who talk shit about football, these people don't actually know about American football. I love that sport as well(I'm not American btw).
@@mishagelenava2962 for a guy who loves NFL football you sure know how to insult it underhand. I don’t like american football, as i grew up watching regular football but i don’t think it is stupid. A bit complicated yes but the US loves it and that’s all that matters. They do have a great show for halftime at the Super Bowl and its commercials are some of the most if not THE most expensive to air. It takes a lot of physicality to run and tackle the opponent and their fans are very enthusiastic as well.
Americans: So why do you like football so much

dkguy 05 the problem people have with Americans is that they think that their way of life is better than in other countries. Although you weren’t trying to, you proved this point. Saying that you have baseball, basketball and American football implies that your sports are the best in the world, compared to football, which is a worldwide sport. Football doesn’t have any boundaries - race, country, class. That’s the beauty of it
That was brilliant, it's very hilarious and full of facts. I can't imagine how many hours of hard work you put into it. I hope it hit a millklm+
My reasons:
1 - Easy to play
2 - Can be watched easily without ad interruption
3 - Requirements are very low
4 - Goals are rare and exciting, and not continuos like the other sports.
5 - Upsets can occur and the best team doesn't always win, packing excitement and mixed emotions.
6 - Variety
Its the most accessible to poor people which, the majority of the world is.
It's the most popular sport in Europe and was invented in Europe, which is wealthy. Although originally it was a working class game.
alex ojideagu nowadays there are a lot of pg clean (dark pigmented) people from colonies and they don‘t have any money but just a ball
Like basketball isn't easy accessible?
Basketball is not as accessible in poor countries. You need a hoop and the correct height. Football you just need a field and two goal posts with anything
Godson Michael Meh it isn’t easy to find a hoop in Africa
nice, its a great explanation
we can play football anywhere, in the alley, class room, living room in your house, backyard, and more places. And we excited for that when we just kick a ball to imaginary postpone
Yes
You forget that football have rare blow-out games driven by its difficulty to score, that also contributes to build up the tension of a goal. Also playing with your feet requires the highest level of skill and when its well made is naturally beautiful.
Because it is gracious, beautiful, simple. It's the best sport. Simple.
@@sirquasi noo
Exactly ! Simple game for simple people
This is the most important reason for the spread of football/soccer.

Wow what an amazing video! Instant sub!!
For real.
great video small quibbles for you. passing in gridiron has an extensive list of throw words just like your football list. types of runs and catches have similarly unending descriptions too
Wow good video very informative. Hope it reaches 1mil soon!
Football is just way competitive
Than any sport , it drives fans crazy
And the passion is on another level
No sport can come close to the passion of football,
Its just better in everyway,
Amazing video! Also you can play it 2v2 3v3 4v4 5v5 etc. you dont need two full teams to enjoy and practice
Great video bro, also lmao funny!!😂
bro you make real dope videos, keep it up
It's simply because football is for everyone and is more fun than the other sports you mentioned, since all the matches can be played with different game styles. In addition, soccer brings together many physical and mental exercises, such as speed, jumping, aim, strength, intelligence, endurance and reflexes. Therefore, soccer is more difficult to master and practice than other sports, that is why South American athletes are more competitive than those from other continents.

In soccer, the best player does not always win, for example, if we play Brazil against the United States, Brazil will attack a lot, and the United States, as it is known that Brazilians are good at dribbling and attacking, and nobody can stop them If left alone, the Americans must defend their goal only, defend themselves and not let them pass, and when the Brazilians are in their field, the Americans can quickly attack at the last minute and destroy them, it all depends on the technique they play and the player skills. rival, for example, it is known that the English have great speed and shoot from a distance at the goal, the Germans also, but the Latin teams are more dribbling and they approach the area to shoot or pass many passes or always have a player plays defining star
that's called a strategy.
that's the beauty of football
i have another theory, football is just simply the best sport
it has everything and is for everyone
the only other sport that can compete in many ways with football is basketball, but you almost exclusively have to be a giant human to play it so you cant really relate with the people playing it
football on the other hands has all kinds of people playing it and they can all achieve greatness with their own style
take for example 2 very different players who are almost similar in status, but completely different in body type and athleticism... Andres Iniesta and Cristiano Ronaldo, one of them is a superhuman machine of a person and the other one is not so different from your average accountant and yet he is one of the greatest players of all time
there is no other sport than football that can give you so many things and be completely accessible for everyone who is capable at football, regardless of your physical characteristics or your background, 5'2 or 6'8...poor or rich, it doesnt matter...
Well said! It truly is the sport of the people.

another thing about football is that we can play it with anyone
what i mean is in basketball you need to know how to shoot and dribble
in cricket you need to know how to bowl or bat
in tennis you need to know how to serve and hit the ball with the racket
but in football you can play with anyone just to make team who can just kick a ball you can make them a goalie or defender and it will still be fun.
Its a global phenomenon... The beauty is anyone can play it and everywhere... Simple rules and fun
And it can stop wars & conflicts and bring people from different parts together. It has more influence than some presidents. It's basically a religion. I don't can understand how American can even compare their NFL or NBA to it LOL
@@YujiroHanmaaaa Indonesia disagrees....
Lemme simplify the video.
Because it's best sport
I am a sports fan. Football (well I am an American so I will say soccer) is growing in the U.S.A. I did learn a lot about Soccer. I do like the sport. This video is right you can play it anywhere. I played it on a tennis court one time in high school. The first basketball game was played with a soccer ball.
I think a big part of it is that goals are scored rarely compared to other sports, so the eruption of joy when your team scores is much greater...
Power in simplicity
from 16:26 starts the best part of the video.
@NO CRINGE just 20. In football, you can create any kind of goal you can imagine.
@NO CRINGE I know cricket has variations but only the T20 and Odi formats have emotions. The real form of cricket is just slow and boring with absolutely no creativity and just playing the same shot on every ball 😂
It is really a test...
I dont know how you call football repetitive.
excellent essay
I was NOT expecting to see my beatiful home, Levante's Stadium Ciutat de Valencia in this video 15:38.
And that strike from the Balcan beckham Bardhi!! get in!
Great video, but I think it boils down to the simple fact that you don't even need a ball to play it and the basic playground rules are so simple that anyone can get the hang of it by watching 5 mins of it
Because it has the most potential for freedom and variety.
heyy just wanted to let you know that basketball was an adapted sport from the mayans and aztecs where the hoop was sideways on a wall instead of up
Wrong they had to score with thier hips and not with thier hands
Still derivative of it
Rickey Lynoard Smith No, it’s a completely different sport.
Well one thing is missing. Portuguese merchants brought the sport to Portugal at the in the 19th century. We then introduced it to Brazil where the sport exploded to the Spanish colonies.
So its not just England.
Great video!
Was never Portugal that brought the game to Brazil. Was Charles Miller a Brazilian that went to study in England, while there learn the game and when back brought two balls with him.
We have all seen matches that are 93+ Minutes back and forth with no goals while your sitting holding the edge of your seat, when suddenly what seems out of nowhere that last second goal happens.....For those that haven't experienced it, its something that can literally fill your heart with the deepest of elation or Tear it apart forever in a million pieces......
