XG one of my favorites Girl Group
Fits well with their female empowerment concepts. The first part seems like they were in a tribe/impoverished place (see raggedy dress, teeth, veil, drums) getting ready to be married off. Later on it shows they left their home and wearing more advanced clothes.
I don't like the lyrics also its portraying men in a bad light like why do you have to bring men down poor men didnt do anything bad i didn't like it at all its a BAD message to younger generation its really really BAD.....HATED this ew

XGALX always provides us with subtitles in various languages, and among them, I have the impression that the Japanese translation expresses the true meaning of the song. The English lyrics of this song depict a strong female figure who manipulates men as she wishes (so-called feminism), but the Japanese translation does not include the word "man" or "he" at all. The true meaning of this song is not limited to men and women.
XG has been discriminated against by some in Korea because all of its members are Japanese, and although XGALX and XG have expressed their respect for K-pop, there are so many antis who do not want to listen to what they have to say. This song is a response to the antis.

Juria's vocals? HEAVENLY. She got the very essence of soul and R&B vocals all the way down like she just gets it. So much emotion packed into that smooth voice. Just WHEW.

There is hidden messages within the mv that speaks about how women have been treated for centuries which is why you see Harvey with bloody teeth (quiet but abiding) and jurin with sharp fangs(fights back but gets treated like an animal)

I love this MV and how cryptic it is! Probably watched it more than a dozen times already picking up observations hahaha. I posted on the XGALX subreddit about my take, sharing my interpretation here!
• Creature that exploded into blue smoke - The ones who dared to stand out and make the leap first before XG but didn't make it. They maybe served as inspiration for others to make the leap and risk too. They didn't make it probably cause they did it alone, or went ahead of themselves.
• Creature holding the sphere - The ones who care for, or are protective of XG. Who are careful of them getting hurt from taking the risk. I think it makes sense with the interaction with Juria and Hinata being protective, and with Chisa and Juria as they seem to gesture like asking permission or comforting it.
• The background creatures - they are ordinary people or performers of the average type. Not necessarily bad, but they don't stand out and just go with the majority crowd. The visual metaphor is that they are blown away by the explosiveness and talents of XG. And once they witness XG they can't help but be caught in awe and at the end bow down and recognize that they are great and are the ones who can make the leap to the top
Overall, they are 3 examples of what XG was able to distinguish themselves from and overcome to reach the top of the other side: they are unique and explosive, they know how to take risks but do it together, they are willing to let go of their comfort zones.
I think it makes sense and is really appropriate for the values of XG!

Yesterday the charts when XG's mini LP dropped. The list is actually much longer but i didn't to make it too long. The Puppet Show MV is also currently #2 trending worldwide. Its a visual masterpiece. Should be Music Video of the Year. You 100% need to listen to X-GENE. It's short but its is pure🔥🔥🔥for some people its their favorite song off the album.

In the Edo period in Japan, painting teeth in black became a makeup exclusively for married women. Since the color black does not stain with other colors, there is a solid theory that it was considered a sign of chastity.
I felt that this song is about a very supportive woman who is struggled by a man who doesn’t commit his roles, such as:
- proposing a marriage,
- supporting her dreams
(including getting married and giving birth),
- helping raising kids,
- listening her expertise
etc.
Icy world is what she feels now. The world seems to be a cold place. But if you became to be able to lead, take control, and take actions joyfully for your own dreams, you can reach to the environment like heaven.
XG is always for people who are struggled most in the world. It’s a encouraging song.
Just wanted to share the story and lore behind the music video., credit to @exScythed.
- The XG girls are lowered individually into Buddhist Hell by the thread of a spider (the scene with Chisa represents this). The figures you see in the very beginning are wearing traditional Buddhist headdresses. They are surrounded by spirits who are caught in a cycle of reincarnation that never ends.
(In Buddhism the “spider’s thread” is a reference to how Buddha took the thread of a spider in Heaven and lowered it down to Hell so that a criminal can climb up from Hell to Paradise. Therefore the thread of a spider is a symbol of slight hope aka a silver lining and of fragility. In the story it’s stated that the thread descended through “many layers of sky and clouds.”)
- The XG girls look on sadly as many spirits attempt to reach Paradise and fail, exploding into nothingness (Chisa looking down from her perch represents this.)
- Even though the XG girls are hailed as goddesses by the other spirits (represented by the way the other spirits bow to them) they realize they still can’t reach Paradise alone aka achieve enlightenment.
- This changes when the XG girls find each other in death, realizing that their meeting was fate in order for them to reach Paradise together (they are tied together by the “red string of fate” and “hesonoo” is Japanese for umbilical chord.) This is represented four times in the video and twice in the chorus of the song; When Juria is running to help a spirit and meets Hinata there’s a close up of her eye where we see her having a vision of an explosion, when Harvey (who has black teeth which in Japan is a common practice amongst women because it represents a “woman with virtues”) meets Jurin, when the XG girls rap/dance together as a group with the drums, and when a wayward spirit’s failure to achieve enlightenment causes an explosion which knocks everyone down leaving only XG standing strong. There’s also a ton of fourth wall breaks showing that they’ve broken away from the circle the spirits are stuck walking in. They know the Truth aka achieved enlightenment and know you’re watching basically. Also, it is only in the later two choruses the girls adlib together. The first chorus, when they haven’t met in the video yet, has none.
- Before XG goes, they bless one of the spirits who is heavily implied to be pregnant with a girl (the moon is associated with womanhood, XG fans are ALPHAZ aka wolves) and has earned the right to be reincarnated.
- The XG girls take a literal leap of faith together and successfully reach Paradise!
The music video is tied to XG’s themes of female empowerment-women have two “x” chromosomes, the girls are “extraordinary,” they have the “x-factor,”they represent a better future for women which is connected to the idea that the next generation of children (children birthed by women who have “new DNA”) are the future hence the futurism stuff. I hope this helps anyone!
