okay but hear me out -- shutter island, donnie darko, identity, the prestige, enemy, the double, inception, prisoners, gone girl, arrival, Mulholland drive, the gift, hard candy, exam, triangle
Hard Candy wasn't that good. A lot of stuff wasn't realistic at all. For example a little girl is about to torture an adult man and he is not even trying to escape? He's just laying there like 'sure, go ahead'. That's just one example but there were more unrealistic scenes and some bad acting. I wanted to like it, though, but no...

rly? wasnt THAT bad, personally i thought it was pretty great but the thing that annoyed me was that a LOT of the plot was edward daniels walking around and receiving exposition from other people. great twist do. oh and taxi driver is damn near perfect

Momento is still one of my favorite movies ever. The acting is flawless. Everything is great. Same with the Silence of the Lambs.
I don’t know why but the butterfly effect is always overlooked as an amazing psychological thriller. Sure it has supernatural themes; but I think it adds to the overall macabre atmosphere of that film

Have to disagree; Vertigo deserves its place as the top movie of all time to date (and that's also on the AFI top 100 list).
Don't quite agree but it's among the best for sure, certainly better than the great but highly overrated Citizen Kane. Being a diehard Hitchcock fan, it's up there in my top 20 for sure.

I watch A LOT of psychological thrillers, and I can honestly say that Black Swan is the one that shook me the most. One of the only movies I've seen that left me frozen and made it difficult to fall asleep.

The first film was actually kinda fun, in the sense that you get to see the protagonist practice his superpowers for selfish gains. It's an escapism movie, like "Limitless".

Man, Shutter Island is one of those movies where I think about it few weeks after watching. No matter what I'm doing, it keeps on running on my mind.
"Don't Look Now" with Julie Christie and Donald Sutherland was incredibly intense.

Psychological horrors like Misery, The Shining etc are my absolute favorite. I generally get bored easily but those kind of movies keep me really entertained, every single moment keeps me wondering what’s gonna happen next.

I don't know if this would fit into this category, but, the movie "Perfume" also really got to me. Set in medieval France, it's a period piece as well as a psychological thriller/horror flick. The music is exquisite.

Nice to see Vertigo coming in at No.1. I saw the movie years ago and always felt there was something there but couldn't quite get a handle on it. I did some research and read a few books, including Paul Hyder's insightful 'Hitchcock's Vertigo', and all the pieces of the puzzle came together. I knew that I'd aced the movie when my Film Studies professor at university gave me an 'A'. I was well chuffed.
Still waiting for Top 10 Days Of The Week though mojo.
