In my experience the biggest sell for WV44 is that she is probably the single toughest ship in Tier 7 ranked so you can rely on her to hold points, push objectives, and generally be a threat that's difficult to ignore.
Her main drawback is that she lacks speed so in a faster match she can be easily outmaneuvered and swarmed.
This is why for most of my time in Bronze Ranked I think you're better off using her German counterpart Scharn '43 for that added versatility and mobility. Yes, she lacks the killer punch of the big guns but at close quarters and with that secondary battery in tow she's not exactly weak.
The Sinop is now a French battleship. I guess you're slowly turning into Jingles. You're still noticing the mistakes but don't worry, that won't last long :D

Ashitaka is a copy of Amagi at T7, he could play that in ranked. I can attest that it's a really good counter to brawler bbs that rush caps.
That is not a premium ship bro just buy prem ship don't bother with boring techtree ships, chh.

First match, love how allied Shchors does NOTHING. He chose to drive that ship, and it has weaknesses, but not playing doesn't seem like a good strategy. Then he comes out and just dies. Maybe he understands his skill better than I did. :)
That's the issue with 90% of players in this game, they have a "gameplan" (often just going somewhere on the map), and then nothing, they don't know what to do after that, and just die.
@@solidtoto LOL. True. Worse, over 1/2 the player base doesn't seem to get any better. I've seen guys with 10,000+ games and they still don't help the team.
That tends to happen when your ship is made of citadel and half of the ships on the enemy team can delete it off the face of the map in 2-3 salvos, and there's plenty of cover so you can't do the kiting-farming HE-spamming thing. Maybe don't bring such a ship to Ranked.

Hey PQ. Great games. I ran into you the other day. Ofc my team threw the game. I did "help" at the end when it was only me and 1 other ship against like your whole tean. I believe you got a Kraken. I was in the Hood. Sorry I couldn't give you a better game. However, I'm in love with WV 44. The only issue I run into is the Sinop.
WV 44 has given me some massive dev strikes and some great brawling. But her main guns have also trolled the bleep out of me.
Colorado grounded 10 km away, full juicy broadside and the shells spray as if there was no aim lock, multiple salvos. It was brutal. And it wasn't the only time WV 's guns did inexplicable things like that.
She's a T7, a strong one but she's still a T7. Consistent main gun dispersion would make this beast clearly OP.
In my case, the Renown 44 is the go to BB for ranked. She has almost everything needed to impact the game: she has speed, british acceleration, torpedoes...
Most importantly, with secondary build she can force an engagement and chase down dd with speed boost and hydro. Her weak armor overall and low shell volume can be compensated with mobility, tricky positioning. Also she has quick heal to actually survive long fights. What else could you ask for
This ship made me millions of creds on the d day event. I couldnt hit those schnellboats with cruiser guns let alone bb mains, but the 44s 2nds were brilliant.
As you mention in the last clip that map is so good! I honestly think too many maps lack island cover and actual good island cover... I really think as a CC you should bring this up to WG and mention maps might need a rework maybe try get em to make a poll and see which maps really need it.

WV44 was great, a bit of a hidden menace, until every crayon-eater on the NA server got it during the dockyard. Sads.
Get the extended DCP mod in slot 1 and change slot 4 to rudder mod. Between the extended damacon and quick heal, you'll manage damage easily.
I might look into IFHE - I normally run Halsey with a shared Ohio/Massa/WV44 build, so would need a dedicated captain, but might be worth doing.

I actually refer Renown 44 over west Virginia. It has less range on the secondary, but same accuracy and massive fire chance (Daring guns), the ship is fast and has a speed boost. Also you have torpedos and 381mm main gun with relatively quick reload.

12:51 Honestly, that's pretty on point for Chumphon. It does sound closer to Chum-porn though, least for me not sure how well that translates.
Everyone is overlooking the HUGE 50mm (don't remember the exact amount but it's something not overmatchable) deck plating on the back of the ship, you can tank fairly well with it.
WV 44 slaps. And she shines in ranked. But . . . run her enough in random and her weaknesses become glaring. The main guns spray like a water hose with your thumb over the nozzle.
But for close combat like ranked she is a monster.

You should play Renown '44 in ranked tier 7, better speed, torps, fast heal, hydro and also good secondaries (sure they have 1km less and not enough pen to go along with IFHE, but they have 8% fire chance and almost same DPM and hitting DPM as West Virginia '44)
I was wondering why there were so many W.Virginias in ranked rn, I still think that the Prinz H is gonna be better for ranked because it's speed lets you help with point control a lot more.
How would you compare that ship to the Renown 44? Renown's secondaries are accurate and quick firing as well, has hydro, torps, wpeed and manouverability. The guns also punch pretty hard although there are only six of them.

But in T7, you have all BBs in the queue, so you spend 2 minutes waiting for the game to start. So I prefer to play Atlanta or Huron
I purposely play tier 6 in the current tier 6-7 ranked, but I play Farragut. Bottom tier dd is not so bad and I somehow smash almost all dds I encounter. Also somehow am able to use torps decently in Farragut even with the suicide range. Smoke helps and if people are pushing helps since you can stealth launch without smoke if they are pushing. I have unicum/super unicum stats in ranked with Farragut according to wows numbers

I tried the WV 44 in ranked and I disagree that it´s OP in tier 7 ranked. The lack of torps and its slow speed were a major disadvantages. I was able to rank out in the Scharnhorst B, torps are just too important because things up close and personal in ranked very quickly.
It’s funny because you’re saying that the lack of torps is problematic but it’s originally supposed to be exceptional to have that armament on BBs…
