    Honestly, I am for this. There are other better options for sure that I would be happier to see, but thus guy is still better than everyone that would come from MLS.

    If Matarazzo is hired I think it would be important to get an assistant that has some international coaching experience.

      I think BJ Callahan has proved himself in this regard, and he can help Matarazzo get acclimated to the team in terms of getting a feel for the personalities of the players.

    tactics really dont matter much in national team football. its all about leadership and talent evaluation. thats why its difficult to evaluate club managers and how well they would transition to the international game. it's really better to get someone with already proven international experience.

      That is where I am on hiring him. There are others that I prefer; however, he is a solid (not perfect ....but good) hire.

    This is the hire who has the best coaching experience who I feel would most likely be interested in the job. If the US can get this over the line, this would be a good hire

    I still prefer Herve Renard but I think Pelligrino would do quit well and would be pleased with his hiring.

    I have a euro bias so I think this is a good option (I’m also a fan of Renard)
    Think about the Argentinian coach who everyone thought wasn’t good enough and not the “big name” coach that Argentina “deserved”

      To be fare the USMNT has more talent on the defense that Hoffenheims. Was it a tactical/ formation/alignment issue with Hoffenheims defence or was it a talent problem?

      @@FootballClubDavid_WI_USA They play with veteran Bundesliga players, Kabak who is the best turkish CB and played for Liverpool. And they got Grillitsch with CL experience who was a starter for austria in the Euros. They had 2 clean sheets in 34 games and their keeper is number 1 in saves. That's a bad sign imo

    I'm just not convinced. He has a losing record and it's not even close to .500. 31% at Stuttgart and 38% at Hoffenheim.

    Not excited about this potential Hire, he has been somewhat underwhelming but U.S don’t have many European managers.
    I would still prefer Henry or Viera over Matarazzo but we don’t have many great options.

      This is according to what measure? Also good luck finding anyone in the U.S. that isn't from an Immigrant background. Not only that but the U.S. system is straight trash at creating coaches. Name one good coach that can fit our player pool that came from MLS.
