Honestly, I am for this. There are other better options for sure that I would be happier to see, but thus guy is still better than everyone that would come from MLS.
I definitely agree I mean it's better than going after Steve which is a lazy hire
This is the hire I’ve wanted all along. I’d be thrilled
Same, I really hope this happens.
Great hiring option, would be ecstatic with this hire!
If Matarazzo is hired I think it would be important to get an assistant that has some international coaching experience.
I know this guy that has plenty of experience.. His name starts with G and ends with ERHALTER.
I think he meant winning experience @@RickyRicardo84
@@RickyRicardo84 dont you dare!!
@@RickyRicardo84 LOL
I think BJ Callahan has proved himself in this regard, and he can help Matarazzo get acclimated to the team in terms of getting a feel for the personalities of the players.
Matarazzo would be a great hire.
tactics really dont matter much in national team football. its all about leadership and talent evaluation. thats why its difficult to evaluate club managers and how well they would transition to the international game. it's really better to get someone with already proven international experience.
Don't let Great be the enemy of Good.
Matarazzo is a good hire and often times a good hire is better than a great hire
Very true
That is where I am on hiring him. There are others that I prefer; however, he is a solid (not perfect ....but good) hire.
Amazing update! Totally agree, Matarazzo knows how to get his team to play more than the sum of their parts
This is the hire who has the best coaching experience who I feel would most likely be interested in the job. If the US can get this over the line, this would be a good hire
I still prefer Herve Renard but I think Pelligrino would do quit well and would be pleased with his hiring.
This is the first sensible name I've seen linked to this job. David Wagner and David Moyes would be two others.
Love Stevie disagreeing but actually agreeing
He understood the assignment
Solid coach but yea I agree Renard would be a better pick.
If we get him, usmnt has no more excuses
Better than Henry or Vieira to be honest, bruvs.
Agree
He's a good candidate. Not a great candidate. Doesn't show the ambition I want to see. But he *does* understand tactics unlike our last debacle 🤣
Who would be a great candidate that would actually be willing yo say yes to this job?
Was this recorded before Renard's French women's side just got upset at home?
Renard was offered $1.9 million and $2 million
don's contribution was pretty sharp though, to be fair, why go for quantity when you've got quality?
Seb made a great shout with Hervé Renard.
I think itd be a good hire. :)
I would rather have Herve renard and then pelegrino in 2026
Way better and more sensible analysis than the bums at cbs sports golazo. Pellegrino is a good and realistic hire.
Love it, not sure he will take it 😢
I like how you emphasized that FOOTBALL 😂👍
Should of been hired well before Copa 2024 so he could have had major tournament experience under his belt.
USMNT would be a downgrade for him
It would lmao
The best American coach available.
I have a euro bias so I think this is a good option (I’m also a fan of Renard)
Think about the Argentinian coach who everyone thought wasn’t good enough and not the “big name” coach that Argentina “deserved”
Just saying….
Pellegrino Matarazzo is a better option than most of the other rumoured USMNT candidates.
Bruce is from Long Island! NOT NEW JERSEY!
Literally ANYTHING would be better than GGG. Hire a rock as manager and see it do a better job than GGG.
Hoffenheims defense was really bad and that is not a good sign for the US team
To be fare the USMNT has more talent on the defense that Hoffenheims. Was it a tactical/ formation/alignment issue with Hoffenheims defence or was it a talent problem?
@@FootballClubDavid_WI_USA They play with veteran Bundesliga players, Kabak who is the best turkish CB and played for Liverpool. And they got Grillitsch with CL experience who was a starter for austria in the Euros. They had 2 clean sheets in 34 games and their keeper is number 1 in saves. That's a bad sign imo
Seb is being ridiculous. If you can succeed at club, that's a primary check mark. Nobody should care much or at all about international experience.
Who???
He‘s American? Never heard that here in Germany.
born and raised
The USMNT should be doing everything they can to hire Southgate.
He's gonna b on TV. Not happening...
I'm just not convinced. He has a losing record and it's not even close to .500. 31% at Stuttgart and 38% at Hoffenheim.
Klopp, pep, even de la fuente. Oh wait. No let's get matarazzo.
You are deluded if any of them want the job
There’s no way you think the usmnt coach positon is so appealing that any of those coaches would seriously entertain it come on now lol
Bruh, you're smoking some bad weed.If you think those coaches you mentioned want to coach a mediocre USMNT.
@@juda210Exactly😂
Klopp retired from coaching. And you're delusional if you think the other two would take the job.
Not excited about this potential Hire, he has been somewhat underwhelming but U.S don’t have many European managers.
I would still prefer Henry or Viera over Matarazzo but we don’t have many great options.
You think Henry or Viera, both of whom are .500-or-under managers at best based on their mediocre records, are better than Matarazzo? You obviously haven't done your homework.
At least actually know what you're talking about before you open your mouth. Viera and Henry are all dead fish.
@@lennyjenkins9931 Totally
I'd take Matarazzo, Renard, or Nancy over Henry or Vieira.
yeah put down the crack pipe if you think henry and Viera are any good
nop, the national teams have to have someone from their own country as a coach someone that really is from their country if you know what I mean this guy is clearly Italian, as Hercules Gomez Mexican, nationalities do not change who we are.
This is according to what measure? Also good luck finding anyone in the U.S. that isn't from an Immigrant background. Not only that but the U.S. system is straight trash at creating coaches. Name one good coach that can fit our player pool that came from MLS.
He was born and raised in Fairlawn, NJ.
Might be the dumbest comment on the internet today.
Heritage is one thing. Nationality is another.😂
These guys are owned. They are testing you.........
