// Magnificent Marching Machine //
The most popular and well recognized ensemble is the Marching Band, known as “The Magnificent Marching Machine”. The Magnificent Marching Machine is comprised of 150 students who perform at MSU Football Games, National Football League Games, Presidential Inaugurations, World Series, and on regional television broadcasts. This ensemble has performed throughout the United States and Bermuda. The ensemble has also made a cameo appearance in the movie "Head of State" featuring actor-comedian Chris Rock and on radio host Tom Joyner's television show.
// Symphonic Band //
The Morgan State University Symphonic Band is comprised of music majors and selected students from other disciplines. Exploring traditional as well as contemporary compositions for band, the ensemble has a reputation for its high level of performance and quality literature. Musicians in a Morgan State University Band have an opportunity to share in the excitement of the creative process as they broaden their musical experiences. The Symphonic Band maintains an active schedule and is a group committed to high musical standards.
// Jazz Band Ensemble //
The Morgan State University Jazz Band Ensemble is comprised of music majors and non-music majors performing classic works by jazz composers including Duke Ellington, Thad Jones, Count Basie, Miles Davis and more. This ensemble has a reputation for its high level of performance and quality literature.The Jazz Band maintains an active schedule and is a group committed to high musical standards.
// Bear Pep Band //
The Morgan State University Pep Band performs at Morgan State University Basketball games. The “Bear Band” performs the traditional MSU School Spirit Songs and renditions of today’s radio hits. - Hudba

I love my Morgan band but I need a deeper stronger drum sound like in years past…love more than the one drum major though….GET ME SOME MORE OF THE OLD FASHIONED SNARE DRUMS WITH A STRONG BEAT

Morgan State University...
No disrespect but the first male and female drum majors did not match the energy of the last two. The flags just need to spin if they can't execute that little dance they did better. I love my folks but hopefully no one takes offense to a little constructive criticism. I was in band as well. At the end of the day it's great to see them doing what they love.

Actually it's always been 1 until this year with the new BD and new Direction...that is what the 4 DM represents new Direction and plans for a exponentially larger band. The band is actually larger over last years....stop hating but I'm sure they are grateful for the view and comment.....keep it moving

@Jarrick Exum facts morgan had the same damn director for 50 years....The new director has mad more changes (positive) in 6 months than the old had made in 20 Years.....

Not the magnificent marching machine I was in ,82-88, this is bad, like they didn't practice at all, more like a soul train line then precision marching, I seen better high school bands!!! They chopped & screwed the original stuff we left them, ghettoed it up like a Bmore hood band.🤔😔🧐😡😠🤬
So that would make you just around 60…. on CZcams bashing a group of kids 40 years younger than you. Be proud. If you cared about this program, a better decision would have been reaching out directly and offering assistance if you think the band isn’t meeting “your standards”. Address is 1700 E. cold spring now just like it was in the ice age.
