- Sometimes I think there's a lot to be said to going back to basics and giving some easy tutorials.
I hope this one helps you understand some top tips and kind of cheats to taking the turns and corners on a full size cable park.
Thanks so much for watching.

Thanks for the video. When I went to the cable park it took me forever to figure out the turns. I kept trying to go through the buoys and kept wiping out. I finally cut inside of the first buoy and it helped. Nothing like waking a few miles around the “lake” because you can’t make the turns. Man was I tired that day!
Finally a tutorial that i can already do
Mike den Hartog Hahaah 👊🏻
The easiest tip is to make sure that when the carrier reaches the corner that you are pointing the board in the direction of the cable that is after the corner
Ronan Long actually a very good way of putting it Ronan!! I like it
This is exactly how I was coached to take corners. Especially helpful to remember when you graduate to a faster cable speed cos you’ll redirect your board at a commensurately early place (useful when you’ve got in a rhythm about when to start the turn).
Keep coming back to this, such great advice!
This is so helpful. I can go through the corners at the fast speed so much better now.
Yes man!! I suggested this on one of your insta stories. Psyched ya done a video on this!
John Crudden ahhh happy days! Hope it helps you if you’re trying it John 🤘🏻
So helpful I went to Belfast and i had so many front edges , cheers
Sweet thanks! I’m going to Bali wake park in a few days for my first ever go on the cable so this helps cheers
That's the dream place to start wakeboarding! Good luck
Amazing Lee. Hopefully it goes well and enjoy!
Thx for the advice helped a 100% for sure.
Can you do a "overhead shot" tutorial of when and where to build line tension on jumps... without a ramp.
Would like to see how clock wise and counter clock wise makes a difference for regular and switch riders. I went for the first time yesterday and the corners ate my lunch. It was counter clock wise which to me seems more beneficial for goofy riders because they can go heel side the whole time.
Can you make playlists of progression so from beginner to advanced in which order should watch your vids
That last turn is so hard!
1,000,000% agree and
1,000,000% relatable
Excellento advice
At First sight i thought - oh hey Martin Garrix :D
Nice Vid man 😁
Hey David nice video. Are you going on any wake board trips anytime soon and are you going back to CWC this winter?
Bill Law Marshall thanks Bill yess. In 2 weeks I’m going to Qatar and then in November AbuDhabi. That’s all I have booked however I’ve a few more trips I’d like to do it possible 😊
I took my first big face plant yesterday, first go on the faster speed! there's 1 tight corner I'm struggling with but I'm left foot forward and the cable runs anti clockwise so its tricky for me turning on my heels! big whiplash typing this though LOL
Also helps to get low until you gain confidence, lower gravity less chance of being pulled over
Difficult for me as I can only go straight
after some brutal faceplants learning those 90 degree turns regular, I am really having a bit of fear learning then switch 😅😂
How is this different from when the boat turns? I've never ridden a cable park.
From my experience: body follows the eyes. So I don't look at the carrier, because I don't know where I am, certainly don't look down as it often ends up in a faceslap. I look forward and trying to learn when the carrier changes direction. Just before that, switsh from heels to toes, look at the next buoys and start targeting them. That will definitely bring you back under the cable without you even noticing,
Lit vid helped alot
mad man delighted to hear it!
Class
Luke Lysaght Walsh thanks Luke!
Quick tip, don't hold on to the handle with 1 hand if it loses tension in the corner.. torn my bicep that way :(
Ouch, even reading that hurts
My dear man! You say in Your instructions to start edging out at about ten feet from the corner.
The rider in the accompanying video(drone shot) starts edging out at least 45 or 50 feet from the corner!
Confusing !!
10 foot is 3 meters right? That sounds a bit too short.. or am I missing something?
dude i love boat but is cable easier? or harder?
Tristan Morrison I think cable is harder but I’m not too good. The boat just goes straight and you have fins on the bottom of the board for stability. Those turns are brutal at the cable park! People make it look easy.
Ive been wakeboarding a day and im on the half of this tutorial
Give me a wakeboarding boat tricks !
Form basic to advanced the DOC!!
Your cable turns right?!?!😱🤯
Nicholas Bogaard hahah yeah. They did it as they were able to make it slightly bigger that way 😊
