It's good you can save both Kelvin and Virginia. It will be interesting if things change after more things are added. This might not be the final story ending, this could just be a place holder until more stuff is added in later.

Yeah its like many caves are just one big room with some loot. Thats a place holder aswell, they will make whole explorable caves out of them which might even be story relevant

My Virginia was alive, had two guns and was still kicking, but on the other side of island and she didnt come with me to the cube.
@@egilzroshi9737 One thing that worked for me was to get the max sentiment on Virginia, after I did this and she and Kelvin were close to the bunker I got the ending. When you get max sentiment from her you'll get an achievement called "Chivalry is not dead". You can gain sentiment by getting thumb ups from her over a period of time from interacting with her.

Seeing big ol' Kelvin and Viri leaving the island alive ,with a story to tell, warms my heart
I know most people don't find the general ending all that... interesting or plausible, but the thought of tapping into another civilization out there gets my mind constantly thinking. I love the idea that there are other civilizations living their daily life somewhere out there and through technology we may create or find, we can take a glimpse as to what they may be doing.
You should read books.

Yes it is interesting indeed but it also has its dangers... Anyway I hope people will understand the story and endig with time. As far as I know this is a beta version, so hopefully the full game will contain the whole backstory and more detalis.

In my game I had her befriended but her and Kevin were at my base which is nowhere near the final cave and they still showed up, so I’m pretty sure you just have to have her befriended

This is quite cool because the Virginias in the first game are named after the girl they were mutated from. This girl could be our Virginia because they have the same name, and it's possible that Big Daddy Puff was attempting to cure her in the first game, resulting in the extra limbs she now has from Sahara's medical procedures. Just before she faints, Virginia appears to be holding where her third arm used to be, which is now clipping through her body, showing that its meant to be removed. Additionally, her extra leg appears to be awkwardly attached to her normal leg, suggesting that it may be a missing model that will be added later on?
I think there isnt an actual connection, its just a developer choice. Because this Virginia only had this happen to her, a couple dozen weeks before the game starts. She would have been a kid during the time of the first game, and while they did mainly test on kids on the first island, Virginia didnt have extra arms then or anything added.
Way over analyzing. Her extra limbs have animation on them, they would not if they were meant to be removed.
I think her name is just virgina so we can tie the virginas and her together. Shes most likely didnt fully mutate into a virgina for some reason which will probably be explained later on
Your whole Theory hinges on the idea that there can only ever be one person named Virginia ever in this world.

I got this ending for the first time i finished the game. The second time was diferent altough i had virginias trust and kelvin was alive. You have to reach max sentiment with her to get this ending.

So now we have an official team going to hunt down the rest of artifacts in the Forest 3 then, a young soldier/trained man, an old man who has full experience with fighting monsters, a smart mutant man aka resurrected boy / living example of parallel dimension experience, a mutant woman that can wield gun or GUNS, and a clumsy ol' Kelvin that can do anything in this world even picking rocks from a place with no rocks? Seem promising
I actually got this ending my first run through the game XD. Had no idea it was a secret one.

It's not really a secret ending as the majority would befriend Virginia and keep to it that she is alive at the end of the game.

They will have voice actors for this game, when they are sure what story they are telling. It's still in beta/early access and is nowhere near finished.
I can't wait for all the context to get added to the game update by update. When I saw this ending during my first playthrough I was soo confused! I didn't even know that timmy was supposed to be timmy and stuff.
Just wondering, does anyone else notice how the fov makes the cutsceans look really odd, like when Virginia falls I can't help but laugh at the odd view, does anyone else notice this?

Yeah, I save a shit ton of ammo for some bossfight and ended the game by accident, I thought that there would be no way it would only last for 8 hours so I went into the lava zone not thinking it would end, and my firend who hosted the server accidentally went into the helicopter so everything is lost
There is a bossfight in the game files. We just have to wait.

I hope they make the next game based on that other dimension because that would be so cool especially if it was filled with demons and other mutated human creatures
that other world they show as an ending has no meaning its just a placeholder for what's the come for the story as its only beta.

@williamlewis8057 it's a pretty damn cool placeholder, I like how all the notes you pick up point towards an artifact capable of dimensional shifting, and how you'll be safe inside it, and then we get this badass shit. Explain what happens to those outside during the events.

@@williamlewis8057 That is just a theory and nowhere near confirmed. As someone before me stated, there's plenty of hints on parallel dimensions in this game (many with a direct link to a known character)
The music when the cube shows the other dimension - it feels as if Dave Gilmour is about to kick off!

There is an understanding to the story. If u notice the books which u get through the game, one of the books is about parallel universes and if u pay attention to the magazines one of them is about hidden and ancient civilizations which would make sense to the story. I do agree there does need to be a boss fight, missed potential with sluggy or the giant we saw in the trailer

i was really confused when i got the ending cause both me and my friend got different endings in the same game. i have befriended virginia more than he did and i only had kelvin in my ending sequence whilst he had both virginia and kelvin :(
Anyone else hoping they add another normal companion from the other helicopter? Co-op is fun, but it would go a long way to have another helicopter crash survivor to give weapons AND commands.
Outside of that, I’m hoping the narrative is drastically overhauled by full release, it’s very incomprehensible as it currently is.
The ending is like a lsd trip the mute is splitting into multiple then the clones disappeared and the cube opens up to show a advance city and some giant weird bug appears and after that the least inbred human from Alabama collapse and finally gaining some maidens and then leaving
We played 2 player co-op, kelvin died few days ago, Virginia was somewhere in the forest and i have ending with Virginia and my friend in co-op has ending with Kelvin (I think only what u need is achievment for max sentiment with Virginia for ending with her)
Yep you're right, I got the ending after getting the "Chivalry is not dead" achievement. Both Virginia and Kelvin were close to the bunker when I entered so I'm not sure if Kelvin has to be there, but Virginia for sure with max sentiment
I instead chose to stay in the island which is better. Virginia and Kelvin doing well 👍🏻

I Just realized that blobbing thing outside the cube when it opens is the guy who couldnt get in at the start, so the cube keeps safe from turning into that (it's just my Theory)

Thought for sure that would heal her "splitness", as you see that side protagonist get split as well.
Really curious to see the full game and who the Old guy and other side Protagonist are. They have to have more dialogue and plot points (as he shows you the laptop timer out of nowhere, and he and his old man show up suddenly yo fight blobbo).
Also who the Silver coated guy was (Same guy as front cover of the Magazine in the Printer Bunker), and why people are turned into mutants outside the cube.
Clearly the Gold material shields the effects (even the helmet protects against the sound). While Kelvin may have got his bloody ears from the crash, other dead workers also have bloody ears in the caves. Did the cube activation cause it?
What are the Demons, how do they relate to the Cube/Parallel Dimension, and the cave mutants (Former employees).
Where are Virginia's parents? Did they travel through the cube leaving a wake of chaos? Why was the cube/hell entrance blown out from their bunker penthouse? Wouldn't it have had a proper cave entrance? And if they did use the cube, how'd they get past the Demons? Yeah that note on their dinning table tells you about the cross, but I don't see them being able to get past all those demons walking down a path of hellfire.
Edit: The security camera footage shows possibly them and their guests/employees splitting / mutating (from cube activation? Who activated it?), so I guess it wasn't them that used it .
So many questions...
There are answers to a few of these questions. The old guy and the side protag are Eric and Timmy (the protag and his son from the first game).
The Silver coated person (actually a girl) we dont know.. but its most likely megan from the end of the first game as they look similar and wear similar clothing but thats a theory.
The Cube only activates every 8 moon cycles so the cubes activation couldnt of caused the place passengers ears to get bloody.
We dont know about the demons but it'll surely be expanded as the games devolpment continues.
Virginas dad was turned and died. We can see him sitting in his chair at the banquet hall. We dont know about Barbara (her mom) though... perhaps we'll find her later on in the game.
We dont know how they got to the cube... but it is most likely just by the cross, also with escorts of course. Though they probably didnt go themselves.
And as for the footage. They are probably just trying to see the effects of the mutations but we dont know their intentions.

I didn't want to believe that was the dad at the banquet table since one of the videos I watched assumed the name tag was for an empty seat (like Barbaras/Virginias), but now I think you guys are right. And initially I had only seen a far away screen-cap of that security footage where it looked like they were in on the mutation, but looking at it up close as well as watching Its Shatter video, I can see it was footage of the party/banquet and the guests/employees had just changed, which might've included Barbara (lower left). Unfortunate that those two might meet a random mutational death rather than being the cause/more prominent in the plot, but then again seems kind of appropriate. I didn't even REALIZE Silver Jacket was a girl until Its Shatter mentioned it! Ooops! I never played the first game (nor am I playing this one - don't have the PC, but I enjoy the intriguing story so much I'm eager to learn more. Its Shatter definitely put that together for me. Hoping the finished game really gives more.

I hope they do more for a story ender. Something longer with actual dialog. I've play plenty of games where the game was difficult yet I'm fighting hard to see the games ending only to be disappointed by the lack of work put into it. Some developers make the end cinematics way too short that makes you wonder why you went through all that trouble in the first place. I think this game would be better if it was story driven like fallout. I feel the same with 7 days to die. In my opinion it's the modders that are making that game fun to play. The modders are the ones that should be making all the money
only mod you may want is loghack, other then that I dont see what is necessary. I have more loot then I know what to do with it.
you are aware the game is in EARLY ACCESS right? The original Forest was no where this complete when it hit early access. so while it feels hollow now, it will be filled and be bigger and better than The Forest was. Don't lose hope yet.

Seeing Timmy and Eric again was awesome...but this ending just confused me
Is the guy in green timmy from the previous game? He has the scare and the old man is his father, the protagonist of the old game. When the helicopter landed he was happy to see him again. And down in the katana bunker he helped his son fight the monster. It would make sense to me
It makes sense to be Timmy because he is still suffering from the effects of the artifact, but being inside the cube prevented them
It makes more sense that the protagonist is Timmy BCS of fight demons tattoo on his arm also I think It was written on Edward will paper that Virginia will get everything but he has another adopted child !
Its 100% Timmy in my opinion from the scar across his forehead n eyebrow, to the reaction to the artifact, and how he hugged the older gentleman. I mean I have no doubt that its him. I'm looking forward to more story information coming out in the future.

This ending makes very little sense, and this is coming from someone who understands the Forest lore. They need to do more to make this all fit in with the original.
If there were maybe 3 more large caves to explore I would have said this was an amazing game.
Did you even play first one, or if so guessing had to be when it was already out for years and final version alreasy?! Do you have any idea how much they added with updates over the first months and year + before that game was finished, all the finished lore and story took long time before it was complete and same goes for more areas, caves, buildings added in etc. Sons is in early access and can guarantee you there will be bunch more caves, areas to explore and story added, removed, changed whatever they have cooking up, this game isn't even close to what final product will be
There's definitely gonna be boss battle(s) added more story more caves don't worry by time finished in a year or whatever will be absolutely one of, if not The best survival game ever

this maybe untrue about Virginia and Kelvin being close to the ending area. My friend and I played the entire game together right to the end and we both had different endings as it happened.
Games alittle Rough around the edges I mean it grafics look alittle better then the frist game but hey it's not fully out yet looks good for an Early access!!!
