However, you must realize that our music has lots of influences including rock and I think that is one of the reasons it appeals to Americans and Europeans, especially the generation that are lovers of Rock Music. Hardcore Reggae which comes from deep cultural expression as in African rhythms like Cumina, Buru and Nyabhingi lays the foundation for Reggae music, Rock Steady and now Dancehall. I still have a lot to learn as I go deeper but it is the soul of our people. And we take the responsibility of keeping it pure and give it a unique voice in all the world of music. Give thanks again. Not always, depending on the song or the genre. If the song asks for a percussive line, more than likely I'll mute. Especially if I want a nice fat Reggae sound. Too much sustain isn't good for that. Bless
