- Hi! Just thought you all might like a quick look at this pair of 1955 Dodge Royal Lancers that I picked up a couple months ago from a fellow who was moving and had no way of keeping these cars. It was me or the scrap guy so I had to buy them, of course. They are rough but should be saved, I think. There is certainly enough here to build a very nice and rare car, but the engines are gone, unfortunately.
One has power windows and power brakes, while the other has power seats and power steering. Both are pretty rusty, and have been sitting outside for many years. Realistically, I will never have the time to restore one of these sweethearts, so I am going to try to find them a home with someone who will.
These were a pretty posh car in their day, and I've never seen one at a show or on the road.
Thanks again for watching this stuff and for subscribing and commenting on the cars! Cheers from me and my girl Stella! - Auta a dopravní prostředky
My Dad bought a new Dodge Royal Lancer in 55. The dealership gave him a toy 55 Lancer also. It used two D cell batteries. The hand held controller also utilized a push button that turned a tiny air bladder that turned the front wheels. The car is about 9 inches long in amazing detail. I still have it. Sooooo cool. Love this car, the dash is incredible. Cheers.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SAVING THESE TWO DODGES FROM THE CRUSHER!!!! AND GIVING THEM A A NEW LEASE ON LIFE!!!!! BOTH CARS ARE VERY BEAUTIFUL!!!! GREAT VIDEO & THANKS FOR SHARING!!!!
In my mind, I can almost smell what the interior of such a car smells like; it's a very
familiar smell to anyone who's done a bit of junkyarding when these were still out there.
This one would make quite the fancy dresser if restored, too.

Two Royal Lancers! You can put together a beauty.
i love the styling of these cars. VERY COOL !
Interesting find. Glad you saved them.
I love seeing old things being saved Cars TVs stereos etc. things had so much style back then
Thank you for saving her from the crusher.
Would love to see you fix up one of the Lancers!!!! They are a beautiful car!!!
We had a pink, black and white Lancer when I was a kid. My dad painted out part of the tail lights so they looked like hearts when they were lit. He was a wild one!
Another 2 saved from the crusher to enjoy for a few more years. Nice job
Your corner of the world seems to have a lot of candidates. Lucky you!
I'm sure you get a lot of people thanking you and such, I want to add to that number. Thank you for saving these classics from the crusher, and helping preserve history! I wish I had the space to do what you do, maybe some day. I love the 'will it run' videos, so cool to see all these cars people were ready to give up on, run and drive again with a little elbow grease and care.
I can't remember the year Dodge Lancer I had; thinking 56 or 57. It had a Street Hemi engine and a push button automatic. It was a Tank of a car and rode very smooth. Good luck on these rare finds.
You guys are so lucky to be able to own so many cool cars! I am super envious! Looking forward to your next video!
+Adrian Ames Hey, thanks for saying so; more on the way soon!
@@coldwarmotors - And not just cars from the "Big Three" You guys are also into the independents like Kaiser-Frazer and Studebaker. Awesome!
Hello from Michigan! Thanks for saving these pieces of history. There is just something about the old Dodges and Chryslers that give these cars a different character than the Fords or G.M's. Keep up the good work! -Nick.
+Delmont Industries LTD Hey, thanks for the note, and for watching this stuff. I'll keep saving as many as I can! Cheers from Alberta!
I respect your attitude and way of life . an adventure is an every day thing for all of us on CZcams ! . always enjoy your videos . Cheers! , and a Pointy One to you for the Holidays . Ray in Pa. U.S.A.
Great save! Just bought a 55 custom royal 2 weeks ago. Would love to have those 2 cars. Luv ur vids. Cheers.
Great job saving those classics!! my Dad had restored a 1955 Dodge Custom Royal 4 door with the hemi in the 1970's here in Trinidad. Right hand drive! wish we had it now
Way awesome profile on this Car ! Nice save..!
Good Job saving the old cars and getting them running again. Happy New Year
I had one just like that about 20 years ago with about the equal amount of rust. The engine ran as quiet as they come. I knew deep down I didn't have the expertise to deal with the rust and reluctantly sold it to someone who promptly took care of that. It is now almost fully restored (I said almost as he didn't have to touch the drivetrain)
Your car is quite rare in that not many were equipped with power windows as this one is. The interior is still very good for an unrestored car.
had a 55 dodge Kingsway, front clip was dodge, rest of the car was plymouth,it was for export only, love this dodge grill.
The front grille and bumper on the 2nd vehicle were awesome.
that's cool as hell . I'm a sucker for old Chryslers .and I agree they should be saved .and car number 2 looks like the one to fix up .ps done much with the 58 Plymouths .. and good luck on the engine .
That one is a real beauty partner from North Georgia your friend and biggest fan North Georgia Mike
Best channel out there.
I like them both!!
@2:14 "All right! Let's get this... ff*bleep*er in there!"
That was gold! So good!
You ought to get together with the guys from Cuban Chrome! That would be epic!
I just got a 1956 Dodge Royal D500 4 door sedan. It has the infamous hemi and it is a runner.
It has never had any body or paint work so the rust-out I see is what I get.
Awesome that it's a pair. Would make restoration of one of them so much easier, as you said.
To you, all your agents, and your straw boss, have a Merry Christmas!
+yost123 Thanks, and the same to you from all of us!
I Love all 55's!!! Great Work!!! Again!!!
My first car. I sold it for the same $500 I paid for it. Have regretted it ever since. I LOVED that car.
Good find! I like how the rear trim kind of creates the top half of complete fins in a model year when fins were not in fashion lol very neat looking Lancer, I love the tail lights to, the 57's did that but with the rabbit ear look as well lol !
Were those Packards in the background? Looked like a bunch of cool stuff on the property, there! Thanks for saving them, and I hope you find the perfect caretakers for them!
+chryco63 Hey, thanks for the note! In the background you can see the 1947-48 Kaisers I recently bought. I hope to find a good home for these Dodges soon! Cheers!
neat cars
Double thumbs up!
Loved seeing the fall colors. I do have one of these, 1/25 scale! Best to the gang and Stel too.
+yost123 Thanks! Cheers from me and Stel!
hey it's a 2 door hard top version man.....excellent
Correct, this is a rare as well as cool car. How about stock two tone paint, white wall tires, and a Hellcat motor under the hood!
Yes. Good save. Definitely too nice to crush. Get yourself a 318 and torqueflite dropped in there and drive it.
Nice cars Scott! I had (sold) a '55 D-500 315 red ram hemi motor which would of been perfect for your 2-door!
+rtchrg440 Yes, that would have been great! Well, most of these cars had their hemis robbed out years ago by hot-rodders, including these ones. Cheers!
in 1954 to 1959, Dodge Coronet, was a base model.
do you call yourself lucky,I have to call you lucky,it is something great what you are doing,I have to thank you, enjoy it to the max
someday in about 50 more years those cars will be worth big dollars, if only we lived longer
Royal Lancer, was a U.S model, a Sodge in the U.S, was a poorman's Chrysler.
That bleep at 2:17 was priceless!!
Love your channel, can't wait to see what you do with these.
+W Sears Hey, thanks for checking it out! I'm going to probably sell these to someone who will restore them. I don't have the time and I think they need to be saved. Cheers from us here at CWMC!
Ah, Grandpa in Ohio drove one of these, Custom Royal Lancer, three tone: white, plum and black roof. I was little but remember the B&W upholstery. I imagine it had a 270 Hemi Red-Ram. A great example of Exner's Forward Look...
+Ralph Villers Thanks for the note; these '55s were really nicely styled, and a real welcome departure from the stodgy models they replaced. Cheers!
nice cars....first car I remember Dad having was a 1956 Dodge....very similar
so cool!
This is a beautiful car, one of my favorites so far. Keep it up!
Hey thanks for the note! If you were nearby, we could make a deal, haha... I need to move these sweethearts along to a good home so I can concentrate on some of the others... Cheers from me and Stella...
@@coldwarmotors I live in Michigan... about 20 years ago my father imported a 69 Charger from Alberta R6 red with a 318, about 98% original. The car was built in Hamtramck, MI and now it is back in its home state. Thanks for keeping these fine machines from being crushed into beer cans!
Send em to New Zealand we love them for the art they are
one of the 'car talk' guys on PBS said he owned one of these. It looks great ! and if you be lucky, it could be a dodge LaFemme which is even more rare
Nice 👍
Scott you need some lat 50's Desotos.
Happy new year 2016 to all agents & Stella...hope there will be more interesting videos from youuu Guys !
Nice stuff! Thanks for the video. And this pressing question: " Will it run?" I like your accent... and I learnt that "deplorable" exists in English. :-)
+DrStef Hi! Thanks for the note. Glad you liked it. Always fun to hear from people from around the world, especially those who like our accent, haha! Cheers from me and Stella.
+coldwarmotors on se languit de la prochaine vidéo... :-) Bonne et heureuse année 2016
Custom Royal Lancer.
Thats a rare car...and a DODGE too ;)
cool ride guys, love watching your videos. believe it or not, but I know where a dodge 241 is at in a junkyard here in Georgia. I've been drooling over the thing for years but haven't bought it simply because I don't have anything dodge to put it in.
+Hobo Bob Hey, thanks for the note! If you really need something to put it in, I'm going to sell this pair...it's only a few thousand miles, haha. Cheers from Canada!
A while back I was racing a 354 Hemi n the salt. Cash got tight so I thought i'd use the hemi on the street and i found a SV 6 powered 56 Dodge fourdoor..The project didn't get staqrted as i had to sell the Hemi, but my idea was to build a moonshine runner .That two door would have been the ultimate home. I was running injection on the salt but I had a bohnalite twin four barrel manifold for it with dual WCFB's. . ....and it's not a lafemme ,not that i'm homophobic or anything .
270 c.i.d was standard drivetrain.
Easy $1000 worth of chrome on these cars.
Lovin it man! When is the next will it run coming!!
Cheers
if a cars interior is very extremely over the top bad would redo it.
plus I would like to request another will it run video specifically another Plymouth or Chrysler
good luck and keep making videos . :)
Wasn't this body style shared with Chrysler -and Imperial too ? It looks very similar to me. Can't say I have seen one of these here Dodges before. Fancy chrome trim etc.
Very (bleep)-ing NICE !
+MungoidHen Haha! Thanks for the note; I think these cars are on a different wheelbase than the Chryslers, but they were all styled under the direction of Virgil Exner, so they all have a similar look. Cheers!
coldwarmotors Right, Right. ok and Thanks. Yes the body looks the same /but somehow different. My dog Safi says,
"Hi dog" to Stella. = )
the dash gauges are set up so nice and logical compared to the 1955 "Plymouth"
I remember a Royal Lancer ragtop from a few houses down my street in the '50s. Red & White. Hope you can get a good one from the 2 you have. Those are pretty rare.
Don't all your car's frames just rot sitting on dirt like that? All that moisture can't be a good thing.
+Jimmy Kraktov Hi, thanks for the note! I try to keep all of the cars up off the ground on good tires so that the frames stay solid. The climate here is pretty dry, and cars left outside are pretty safe as long as they aren't actually sitting on the ground in the dirt. Cheers from me and Stella!
Any '55 mopar cars are worth it.
Did you ever get that Hudson Pacemaker up and going? haven't seen any videos on it.
I suppose if you were to find an '85 Chrysler K car, at least you could offer driving lessons at the local high school for flunkies.
Gramp. Had. Two door. In. 67 or. 68. Thanks
His was Lancer
i have a small m2 machine (off brand hot wheels) of the same car
what are you going to do with the 2 55 Dodge 2 door hard tops, I had a 56 4 door hard top I was gong to restore, but on the way from Idaho to Washington the car came off the tow dolly and ruined the whole car. so I had to have it towed to the nearest wrecking yard and give it for the taking it from the freeway.
1:48 - A pair of Kaiser/Frazers?
0:12... Is that Mr. “same old shit”? (that we would see at the end of some of your videos)
Wow...these are rough but way too nice to be crushed! Is this some kind of record player unit mounted below the dash of the first car?
+AudioMobil Hey! I figured you might like these babies... The radio in the first car is a factory "Town and Country" model. The thing under the dash is either a trailer brake switch or an old cassette player or part of the heater controls... I cant remember right now, but unfortunately it's not a record player... (I wish!) Cheers!
+coldwarmotors I'm still looking for a RCA AP-1, ARC 2500 or similar 7" record changer for my '58 Plymouth. They show up on eBay from time to time, but either the seller won't ship overseas or they are far from working...with no parts available over here I would rather purchase a restored / repaired one.
Nice video! I have 1955 Dodge coronet I am restoring. I wanted to see anyone knew where I could get a radiator support, driver side font glass, the seal trim, and emblems.
For some reason CZcams keeps on removing me from your e-mail-video reminder list, this is the third or so time it happened, lol
Dad had 55 dodge in the 60s. Seems to me it was a 4 door. Replace with 63 olds 88.

Agent 3620
Hey Man, by chance do you have a couple of old extra Mopar 15x6 steel rims knocking about? I need a couple for my 57 Chrysler and am prepared to pay.
Jacob
Did either one become a runner?
If Canada uses the metric system why do the road signs look like the ones here in the U S ?
Wow, a 2 door
Weird chose. No engine. How is the daily driver coming along?
Is it an American Dodge?
going to strip them or get them running with a spare motor in the barn?
+san379 Hi! I'm going to try to sell them to someone who will restore them. I just rescued them so they wouldn't get parted or crushed.
coldwarmotors do you want to do like you do with your other cars.. full detail for retail.. fix the chrome.. fast paintjob and vacume the inside and clean it up good and install headlights?
floors, where were going it doesnt need floors
I'm from Russia. rescue them all. around 5,000 miles.
do you still have these coronets?
Guys, what was the blue, boxy looking car to the left of that row?
+mictho100 Looks like a late 60's Plymouth fury
+Shawn Adams thank you Sir! Found it now. :)
do all the cars in your yard run ?
+isaac roberts Well... a lot of them do, but not all. I try to get the un-seized ones going, it just makes it so much easier to move them around if I have to! Cheers from me and Stella.
Will it be restored..?
Do u still have them if so will sell it in parts
Ocupó ayuda buscó caja automática Dodge royal 1956
With all that you guys do, is this your normal job?
How many cars do you own total?
+Daniel Johnson Hi! Right now, I think its around 60-65 total, if you count parts cars and everything. Going to sell a few off and try to keep it around 50... just so easy to keep buying them, haha.
